This review is not meant as an over excited review however I would highly recommend any class through BayTac. Sgt. Bowen is helpful, insightful, and patient. No yelling when correcting and he knows his stuff. I will definitely will take another class in the future. In the end my goals were met; I learned how to shoot my rifle more effectively and I understood more about my sidearm and how to handle it more confidently when at the range.
I attended two courses over 2 days with Sgt. Bowen. It was worth every dollar! I purchase an AR15 the year prior and was trying to learn how to shoot via YouTube videos and an old friend (over the phone) who is now in Army Special Forces. All these sources were helpful, especially my friend. However since I was not getting one on one/​on site training, I was shooting all over the place. With the high price of ammo my target practice was wasting money. Out of 100 shots at 100yds, possibly 40 – 50 shots were hitting paper and the rest were missing completely. MAYBE 15 shots were actually hitting the target. After a 5 hour markmanship class Sgt. Bowen had me hitting a 18 – 20 inch target at 200yds at a 60% hit rate. He took me over the basic postions; standing, kneeling, and prone. He showed me how to properly sight my rifle and he was very patient and helpful.
The second training session I attended was Certified Training for the Armed Professional. This class was for a private group and was very insightful on protecting yourself from a hostile threat and opened my eyes to protecting myself with a firearm. My biggest take away was that your mental attitude is was will protect you in a threat not if you have a knife or gun.

I took a Basic Tactical Pistol course today with Sgt. Andrew Bowen and it was a blast. My previous training experience had only been NRA safety courses and I wanted to try something more hands-​on and dynamic on a private outdoor range.
We started out with some basics of safety, grip, stance, weapon condition, draw, malfunctions and then got right into shooting. By the end of the day I was shooting on the move around obstacles and at multiple targets at a variety of distances with about the same accuracy as I started out with standing still at 7 yards.
Besides being a ton of fun, I definitely felt like I progressed as a shooter today and it motivated me to get even more training. I couldn’t really speak to how it compares to other similar courses, but for the individual attention I got from Sgt. Bowen, it was well worth the money.

Another satisfied customer! I have to admit I was hesitant to take another basic class, but seeing how green I am I figured it shouldn’t hurt. Lucky for me I think that way because Sgt. Bowen opened my eye and mind to things that were not brought up in my previous basic class. Some gun jams that I haven’t heard of and some I have heard of, but haven’t seen, and how to clear them. I learned a better stance and better grip that all just made sense.
If you are new and serious on learning and improving don’t pass an opportunity to get trained by Sgt. Bowen. I am excited to practice what I learned and to move on to tactical training to see what else I can learn and improve on. I also hope to continue to update this review as I work my way through other lessons.

I had a chance to do a carbine class with Sgt. Bowen. He is an excellent instructor, course work and drills covered in the class greatly improved my knowledge and ability with the carbine platform. I would definitely recommend any of Sgt. Bowen’s courses to anyone looking to improve their fundamental marksmanship skills.

I had a chance today to take the Basic Safety and Marksmanship course with Sgt. Andrew Bowen. In short, it was worth every penny.
Andrew improved my pistol skills from the ground up. He fixed my stance, my grip, my trigger squeeze, my sight picture and my breathing control. He taught me how fatiguing it can really be to send every round downrange, and more importantly, how to combat that fatigue.
My groups went from 12″ down to under 6″ (at 7 yards) in under 2 hours and less than 200 rounds. I know with more practice and focus on Andrews techniques I can get that group even tighter.
I’ve read the books and watched the videos, but nothing compares to the solid one on one instruction Andrew provides. I can’t wait to follow up with his more advanced classes!
