Alura Inn

This place is not what I expected for a hotel in the Silicon Valley let alone a hotel in the US. It’s clean and the room works. The clientele is… well…subpar. There was some gang fight that broke out in the middle of the night in the parking lot. Woke everyone up. Tired to use phone in room to dial 911 and it does not call out. Lovely. Bed is not comfortable. Pics in advertisements are not as nice as in person. Will not stay here again. This type of establishment is what I would see traveling in the South Pacific.

The hotel room itself was very nice. Clean, tidy, no weird smells, etc. it even had a cute Audrey Hepburn motif. The front office staff was very friendly as well. Despite these good things, the area itself is not ideal. It seems to be in a sketchy area, although close to some more up and coming developments, and a better part of town, there were some unsavory characters hanging around and it as close to a lot of industrial buildings. I didn’t fully feel safe. I would not recommend this hotel to a solo female traveler.

So randomly ended up here for a night out, found the place via Expedia and the pictures were super nice and for $ 90 for the night, why the hell not?
Pull up to the facility and it looks like a ghetto area and I was definitely judging. Anyways we go into the check in office, super small but cute and modern… by the look of the outside my stomach was turning to how the room was gonna look.
When checking in the lady said it was $ 100 deposit which made no sense to me but it would be refunded. So sure why not.
Get to the room, the TV was so small and so far from the bed it was almost impossible to be comfortable and watch TV.
The bed was huge but uncomfortable and springy (my back is currently messed up)
The table lights did not work at all.
The bathroom was the size of a closet. Literally oompalumpas would get claustrophobic in there.
The curtains were see through even though they were black.
Not to mention you can hear everything from outside, upstairs, and also from the sides.
Literally WORST sleep of my life. Constantly kept waking up thinking someone was coming into the room from the outside noise. Or heard someone walking from the room above us. Or I was sinking into the mattress.
I’m sure there are many places that are worse than this HOWEVER I would only stay here as a last resort. Highly doubt I’ll ever come or recommend this place at all.

This is my spot to relax. Me and my wife usually stay here for our business trips. Rooms are very clean and staff very professional, also very good in pricing. They also have a Mexican food downstairs for easy access to food. By the way I must say Sophia is very professional and kind person. Thank you Sophia for a good customer service. Great weekend get away! I been here a few times with my boyfriend, for the 49ers game. We’re too tired to drive back home. To be honest the outside doesn’t look to great, but it’s much nicer in the inside. I was a little scared when I first drove in, even that took awhile lol! The entrance is so hard to find! I got lost had to call the office. Sofia she so kind, directed us to the entrance. She even printed out our tickets to the game, and suggested places to eat! Beside the outside look and the hard to find entrance. I come back for the good service, pretty rooms for a decent price!

Nice place to stay at, rooms are clean, affordable prices and great customer service, last time I was there Sophia was awesome. I’ll be staying here again.

Upon arrival was greeted with puke covering the stairs. Walked in and the rooms looked pretty nice. First thing, tv didn’t work, called front desk and they said it would be fixed in a few minutes. We left for 5 or 6 hours came back and still wasn’t working. Went back to front desk and was greater rudely and then yelled at that they wouldn’t be fixed for another day. Also they said they had cable when they don’t. Second the showers were terrible it was either freezing or burning. And when sat down in the one chair it has, it nearly broke.

I stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed it. The room was clean. Service was friendly and very helpful, A guy named Million helped me with my reservation, I remember his name because it was unique. The room was affordable and I would definitely stay again.

After the «action» you can see the Mexican restaurant is pretty good with food, drinks and service! The rooms are pretty decent too… just the street, area and outside atmosphere is lousy.

expecting that the pictures they provide reflect a reality. Not even close! Instead of a modern looking room we got a cheap ikea-​style furnished place with an uncomfortable squeaky bed. A couple of words about this location — beware! This is a half-​industrial, half-​ghetto area.
But they will charge you as much as they can, so check your bill and keep all receipts. They charged $ 137 on my credit card for one night (because I was booking the room and provided my card in a case of no-​show) and my partner credit card for the same amount and $ 100 plus a security deposit when we were checking out. When I called them to resolve the issue they couldn’t find this transaction so now I have to dispute those charges through my credit card.

This is nothing but a repainted, «oh I’ve got a Audrey Hepburn Pillow) souped up Motel 6. But honestly Motel 6 is WAY BETTER. Plus they where supposed to charge me at one rate per night of $ 109 and suddenly they charged me $ 169 for a second note. As far as customer support if you arrive after 9 you have to stand outside and wait for someone to come to the window. This is storage and industrial hell when it comes to the location and not very safe at all. I feel like they totally get away with this because they have some so called «nice Pictures» of the rooms. Total waste of money.

I booked this place trough Orbitz under the impression its 3 star hotel as it was listed on website.
This place is not a hotel, it is motel. The pictures on their website are very misleading. I paid extra for breakfast and it turn to be coffee and danish in plastic wrap.
The staff was nice but that is the only positive thing about it

I’ve been staying here for 3 nights now and the room is beautiful and spacious and clean. The management is super nice and all the maitenence staff are quick and friendly.
I’m inbetween living situations and have stayed at motel 8, motel 6, vagabond inn, and bella vista inn in santa clara. Bella Vista is definitely cheaper by about $ 15 but the quality is crap compared to Alura! Even the more expensive ones like vagabond and motel6/​8 arent as nice or accomodating!
I just wish Alure had continental breakfast, but good thing theres a delicious mexican restaurant in the same parking lot ;)

First off, my aunt’s experience was way above expectation (I found this hotel for her). This hotel deserves at least a 4 star; I guess only those with poor experience rated this hotel, but even then, I don’t think how anyone can have a poor experience here. The girl at the desk, Sophia, was more than accommodating. My aunt only spoke Vietnamese but good thing Sophia speaks the language well. She taught my aunt how to use the heater (there is a button on the wall that is easily missed, my aunt was trying to push the heater to get it started haha). My aunt also had no trouble asking Sophia for more amenities. We will be back. Thank you for a great stay!

I have to say, for being off the beaten path, this small hotel was a good deal. I stayed here weekly for almost 2 months and I have no complaints. Mishel who works the front desk was always so friendly and professional and always checked in on me to make sure I had everything I needed. The rooms are like mini apartments and the décor is nice. For the price of the rooms compared to others, Id definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking to stay somewhere nice and cheap.

Clean. Nice staff. Nothing special but not falling apart.

This place is the pits. The only good thing about it — is its web site — which has no connection to reality.
This place is a tacky motel at best. Check in at night and you go to a window where the clerk peers from behind blinds and passes the key through a slot under the window.
It is in a sketch part of town. The furniture is beat up and stained. Don’t look under the bed, after all housekeeping does not.
You hear everything that goes on outside as the smoke drifts in from the staff and guests smoking outside your door.
What a disgusting joke. Yes, sometimes you get what you pay for, but even at that price it’s far from worth it.
Next time, instead of being sucked in by a very deceptive website, I will check reviews
Lesson learned. There is no allure in Alura.

This was one of the worst nights of my life. Stay away from this place!!! The website is 100% deceptive– It’s a filthy, unsafe DUMP. It’s deplorable beyond words, and I had one of the «remodeled» rooms!
Couldn’t use the covers on the bed, wrapped myself in my sweater, and rolled up a shirt to use as a pillow. Couldn’t breathe because of the pungent mold smell, and the windows didn’t open an inch (which was probably a good thing for my safety). Left the lights on for fear of bed bugs. Didn’t get a moment of sleep.
Dirty underwear were found on the shower rod. Prostitutes hung out on the balcony. Fights in the parking lot at 3am outside my window; Bottles, etc., smashed all over the place. I thought for sure my car would be broken into during the night.
It is NOT clean. It is NOT comfortable. It is NOT safe. It’s a scam… total bait and switch from their marketing. RUN AWAY. Wish I could give it zero stars.

I am reviewing this based on the non-​renovated room. We stayed here for a convention & it was the worst stay I have had in years!!! First, the room’s carpet was disgusting, stained & dirty. The maid didn’t come back to give us our extra towels we requested, and when we asked the front desk for towels we were questioned why we need so many (we asked for 4– because there were 4 of us)?! Then, the bathtub had paint that was peeling when you take a shower. There was a fake window in the bathroom?!
I think We slept a total of 2 hours, if my friends and I were not tossing and turning on the bumpy and old mattress that we paranoid had bed bugs & blankets with holes in that we couldn’t even imagine actually throwing it over our bodies to keep us warm! We all slept in hoodies and so sky to try an avoid skin contact with the sheets.
Although they did provide a microwave, mini-​fridge and direct tv in the room, there was an extension cord with power strip that had so many plugs in it, I was afraid it would start a fire.
Our other friends that were also attending the convention & their room’s heater didn’t even work! It was 35 – 40 degrees at night that weekend!!! The entire motel had 1 blow dryer & 1 iron to use.
I can’t believe there are accommodations like this in America. The owners need to hurry up & renovate all the rooms or close half the rooms off from people until it’s complete because it is pitiful & disgusting.
Do not stay here until they finish, but if u don’t mind staying at a roach motel, feel free to throw away your money.

Stay FAR AWAY from this dump. Rooms were filthy and smelled god awful.
Went back to the office to get my money back and was refused a refund, even though I had JUST checked in… so I was also out of money and still had to find another hotel to stay at that evening.
Worse experience I’ve even had with a hotel. Thanks Alura for placing deceiving photos on your website, and then keeping my money after presenting me with a very subpar, dirty room.
