whenever you feel something wrong with your car, you just go to the best car doctor — Mater Wang. Mr. Wang is very nice; his trustworthiness will win your heart, his experiences and skills will save your car (s) and save you a lot of bloody bucks.

The owner is so nice! What is important is that you can trust him. I had obvious dent at the back and side panels of my van. I know it is expensive to fix but I cannot stand not fixing it. My car is just a few years old. I have checked a couple places to have an idear what would be a reasonable price. AKW gave me an obvious better price and I have picked them as they are much cheaper and have good reviews. Once the work is done. It looks perfect and I cannot tell any damage before. And the owner even charge me a lesser amount than he estimated. Can you believe that? I also noted he fix another place near to the dent where we did not discussed before. The owner is so honest and with strong skills. He is talking confidently and the results of his works proved what he told the customers.
I also had car repairs works done by him for my older car. They never over charged me while delivered great quality works. I highly recommend AKW to anyone needs any work done with their cars.

My family has been going to AKW for years so I’m a little late to the party but glad I got my T-​stat replaced here. They were quick and affordable. Will be back!

Just noticed a post by Spencer L. and I have to make some clarification:
— I was that guy met with him at the shop on that day and I am not his friend.
— He works for an internet website buying all sorts of used cars. My car was totaled and I sold it to him on that day.
— The people at the shop were trying their best to save my car. Even finally it had to be towed away, they didn’t charge me any overnight parking fees.

I came into this place to help my friend out and they were immediately rude to me telling me to «wait outside!» Until my friend arrived, so I did.
When he got there I walked into the shop with him and the shop owner started speaking to him in mandarin and yelling at me with words I didn’t understand. It was later translated that he was yelling racial bigotry.
He then asked for my ID. When I asked why he needed that, he said «you want to come in my shop?! You give me your ID!» When I showed him who I was he then told my friend other nasty words about me in Mandarin and told me I shouldn’t be trusted.
I did absolutely nothing to piss these guys off. They were incredibly rude.

Excellent pricing, service, and turnaround time. Had to get my front bumper replaced and Simon and Ken helped us. They matched the price of another body shop and delivered the car two days later, a day ahead of schedule. It looks great and they put the stickers from the original Toyota parts on the invoice.
I haven’t had any mechanical work done but they were honest and efficient. Definitely recommend.

My whole family and all my family friends get their cars fixed here and we have never had a problem with it. With small things like changing the break pad, I literally just tell him the morning of, and he will get my car done and out in 30 minutes! The owner will never try to jip you. He tells it like it is and even let’s you know if have wasted your money going somewhere else. I really recommend all you guys to check AKW Auto out because you really won’t regret it!

Mr. Wong is a very experienced mechanic. Fix car problem is such a easy job to him. Every time I went AKW to fix some problem, Mr. Wong found what cause the problem right away. Then he just need to change some parts or make some adjustment. I never need to return to him the second time for the same problem.

I don’t think AKW auto needs any more great reviews. I’m writing this review because I want to contribute to this community and I believe great services like this should be recommended and used by all. Just like everyone else said, you can trust this shop that they’ll do the right thing and it’s easy on the wallet. I’ve recommended them to many friends and never heard any complains. Just last week a friend told me that from now on he is going to use them for all his auto repairs/​care.

Ken Wong is honest and very trust worthy if you want a Mechanic that knows his stuffs and the cost are good compare to other auto shop around. I know him from my brother and sister in-​law. It is a family run and I hope the best for Mr. Ken Wong and his family a happy New Year with health and prosperity.

My 97 Camry’s Check Engine light kept on coming on for a while now. I get a free code reading from Jiffy Lube during oil change but they don’t provide that kind of car repair. I put this repair on hold. Then, this check engine light warning has resulted my recent smog test to fail. The smog check guy told me that I have to get the car fixed so he can re-​check it for me when the light go off.
I went to a few mechanics located on s Winchester Blvd near Campbell, all the mechanics asked for 80 ~ 105 dollar to do simple diagnosis after I show them the code I got from Jiffy Lube. All of them told me that it was impossible to estimate the repair cost until they run diagnosis on my car and they claimed that it will be at least 300 to fix the problem. One of the mechanics even offer me USD 1,000 to buy my car and claim that it might cost more to fix it.
I walked away from these mechanics since California offers anyone USD 1,000 if you should retire your car. Thus, this offer is a real rip off. And it always cost at least USD 2,500 to buy any car from the street.
My friend recommended AKW Auto to me and told me that it is one of the most honest mechanics in Bay Area. I was about to retire my car but I decide to give it one last try. I drove to this car repair this afternoon and the mechanics help me to diagnose the problem on the street. Then, the senior mechanic/​owner told another mechanic to check my fuel cap and try to tighten it. He opened engine hood, stopped and restarted the engine and did visual check and listen to the engine sound. Then, he told me that I need to go to Toyota Dealer to buy a replacement fuel cap. There is nothing to repair. He then walked back to his shop without even asking me for any fee. I was totally shocked and I followed him to his shop to confirm what I just heard.
Yes. I heard correctly. Nothing to fix other than replacing the fuel cap. I returned to my car and I noticed that the check engine light was gone. I drove home and told my wife about my experience. We were happy that we don’t need to spend 20K on a new car. But we feel that we should do something to endorse this honest car repair shop.
I will definitely recommend this repair shop to everyone I know.

Easily the best auto mechanic shop I have ever used. The people that work here are hard working and very honest. I have never had a bad experience bringing my car here to have repairs done.
So I’ve had oil changes done here, brake pads replaced, tires rotated, and more that I’m probably forgetting. They only charge you on the repairs that are necessary, and they do not overcharge you for anything. The oil changes are really easy for me, I just drop off the car and then come back at a later time when it’s finished. They will also notify you of any other serious issues that they find if any.
If you speak and understand mandarin the process will go a lot smoother for you, just FYI.

I have known AKW for more than 10 years now… Although it’s quite far from my house (both old and new locations), I just keep going back! You can’t beat it, they do a better job than competitors, at a much lower price!!!
Talking about money, in my experience their price is around 80% to 90% of other shops. I’m talking about identical jobs if you go compare the prices. This DOES NOT include AKW’s honesty about their estimates. That is, like every other reviewer said, they will not talk you into changing something you don’t need. In fact, they will convince you that you should just keep your old parts because it’s more economical that way. I used to have a 1993 Camry, and they told me since the car won’t last too long at this point, they only recommended necessary repairs, and they even found used parts (but reliable) to save me money. Needless to say, the car is still in great condition now and I’m sure it’ll keep running for a while with the great care from AKW. With this in mind, your savings at AKW will often be 60 to 80% of other shop’s prices because of Wang Shi Fu’s no-​BS approach.
Just this month, they estimated a $ 500 repair for my new car, and I accepted the estimate. But the prices came out to be $ 420 because they said one of the mounts was still okay so there was no need to change it. How many auto shop will ever say that to you??? I accepted the $ 500 estimate, they could’ve changed the mount and earn an additional $ 80, but they chose not to! (btw, besides being economical, this is also very environmental-​friendly).
On a side note, yes we do call him Wang Shi Fu. But, this Shi Fu does not mean Master… the second Chinese character is different… it’s also pronounced as Shi Fu, but in English it means ‘master’ (without capital M), to indicate people with special expertise such as an auto worker or even a barber. So… please brush up your Chinese before you leave a review about it on Unilocal

My car got dinged up (brutal paint scratch) at work a couple of months ago. I had to pay out of pocket because for some odd reason… just for that night, the company security tape was not looking at the parking lot :(
I went to a couple body shops for estimates and AKW has the best offer. Initially I was a bit worried about the quality of the paint job since AKW is so much cheaper than the other body shops I compared with. But as it turns out, it was some silly worries. The paint looks good and they finish the job in a very timely manner.
Would have given it a 5 star but the interior of the car is a bit dirty. There were some leafs and gravels in the car.

AKW Auto… what can I say? They do an amazing job and are probably one of the last honest auto body shops out there. They clearly describe what your options are and do not recommend you any unnecessary repairs unless it is in your best interest (i.e., we’re already pulling out your engine. Might as well change the timing belt).
I’ve had my car fixed there (both mechanically and body) numerous times. My entire family goes there. I’ve recommended friends to go there and they were happy with the outcome.
If my dog could drive, he’d be going there too.

Honesty is worth every dollar. And here at AKW, they strive to give you the honest answer with cheapest cost. If you’re looking for performance parts, then you might want to check out a tuner or a speciality dealer. But the fact is the vast majority of daily drivers that just want to fix that fender bender or save some bucks on an outrageous dealer quote, AKW is here to please.
I’ve been coming here for the past ten years. I refer all my friends to this auto-​mechanic and body shop. I mean ALL MY FRIENDS. I carry their business cards in my wallet. That’s how much confidence I have in Wong-​shi Fu and his amazing staff. Plus they have a cute puppy to greet you when you pay.
All my cars are serviced here. Wong-​shi fu specializes in the non-​BS approach. He’ll given you an honest assesment and quote with no charge on service like those dealership basterds ($ 75/​hr). AKW all the way.

Took my car there for A/​C repair, Ken (the owner) was very honest and fixed the problem with charge less than most other repair shops would do for just looking at it. Dropped the car there in the morning and problem fixed by noon. Great service. Highly recommend.

Awesome service. The owner, Ken, is really funny and very nice. I think he runs this shop with his family, or more like his two sons (?). I came here to get my car tuned up and get a coolant flush and Ken took care of everything to perfection. The only downside is Ken speaks little English so majority of the time his sons are always translating, but hey it’s cool since he seems to know his stuff on mechanics :) Definitely a place to keep in mind and come to.

This has got to be the best automotive mechanic experience I’ve ever had.
The shop is owned by a man named Master Wong. Yes, Master Wong. Not Mister Wong. If you call him Master Wong, I believe things will go much more smoothly for you.
I had to have my IACV taken out, deep cleaned and reinstalled. Granted this is a procedure I could have done myself, but it’s one that takes many hours as well as the know-​how to remove components in your car that you may not be willing to take out by yourself.
In the end, it cost me $ 100. Try going to a Midas and my estimate was over $ 300.
Master Wong also informed me of other things he noticed with my car that may cause problems. He gave me the most cost effective and safe solutions possible (I checked with other mechanics of the same problem to see).
I’d totally recommend going here to get your car fixed.
Just a note, I spoke Mandarin with him and it does help out a bit. Just a tidbit of information for you.
