Having to get your car repaired after a minor accident is never a fun thing, but I had a very smooth experience here, making the whole process virtually painless.
I was helped by Alan, who was helpful and thorough in his explanation and handling of my repairs. I also appreciated his regular updates, over email, about the status of my repairs (which were somewhat extensive, so they took two weeks). Alan would check in and let me know at what point in the repair process he was, and how much longer he thought it would take.
Thanks for making this process, which could easily have been a pain in the butt, an easy one! The repairs on my car look good: everything seems like it’s back to the pre-​accident condition, and maybe even a little better.

Best AAA certified body shop! They made everything so easy, completely erasing the stress of having been rear ended and dealing with insurance. The back of my car looked new when they were done. I recommend them to anyone with AAA insurance — they are professional, skilled and efficient!

I took my car here to get some body work done after a small fender bender. I must say that I was very impressed by the customer service aspect of Akins. They were quite flexible as to the days and times I could drop off/​pick up my car. They helped arrange for a car rental. I was kept up to date on the progress of repairs while my car was in their care. The complimentary cleaning (inside and out) of my vehicle during its servicing was nice — smelled new inside when returned to me.
The staff here is extremely personable!
The body work was outstanding. No complaints here. They really know how to take care of their customers and their customers’ vehicles.
And if you love nostalgia, you ought to visit this place just for all the old keepsakes inside from back in the day (roadsigns, gas pumps, toy cars, etc.). The décor is wonderful!
I’d definitely return to Akins in the future. Give them a try!
Note: This Akins location is simply where you drop your car off. They then tow it to their Santa Clara location where they do the body work. I had a hard time finding at first because I was looking for a place with facilities to service a car.

I had a car accident late October 2011. Mike Riccomi at Akins at S. De Anza Branch provided a distinctive services from the time I brought my car there for an estimate until I got my car back. He arranged a car rental, pick up and drop off schedule at my most convenience schedules. He also kept me informed what to expect through out the process. His team are also very friendly and helpful, Michelle and Neal.

I had a very good experience with these guys. They called me a few days before my appointment to say they would organize the details for a rental car for me and have it waiting there when I arrived. I didn’t need the rental but I still thought it was great service. As soon as my car was finished, they called me to say it would be waiting in my driveway by the time I got home from work, which it was. With a beautiful new bumper. Thanks for making this so convenient for me! Ted was especially helpful.
