History
Established in 1980.
In 2015 Aikido of San Jose celebrates its 40th year. It was opened in the bicentennial year of 1976 in San Jose’s Japan town. In 2001 it moved to its present location 190 Martha Street. For these 40 years Aikido of San Jose has provided instruction for all ages and both sexes in non-violent self-defense and mind-body harmony. We are looking forward to our next 40 years. It was opened by Robert Nadeau, 7th degree black belt and shihan (master instructor awarded by Aikido Headquarters in Tokyo), who was a direct student of Morihei Ueshiba, the founder. Since 1980 it has been owned and managed by Jack Wada, now 7th degree black belt and also recently awarded the shihan title.
