ABC Blocks Preschool And Day Care

I absolutely love this preschool and day care! Good teachers, very hygienic, friendly and a fun place for my daughter who is now 18 months old. I was very apprehensive when transitioning from nanny to day care since she was completely used to 1 – 1 attention.
Within a week of transitioning, she integrated so well with the other kids, the routine, food, napping etc that I still count my stars :-)
The teachers, Ms. Cory and Ms. Julie are fabulous with the kids. There is a good mix of learning, sharing, outdoor fun and celebrating special days that keeps everyone happy.

Since we moved out to Morgan Hill, we decided the commute has been too much on our daughter. We regret to have to leave because it’s been such a pleasure to see the things our daughter has learned. Now more than ever, we are grateful for the experience, love, and care that ABC Blocks has given our daughter. We’re in search of a preschool in Morgan Hill and it’s been a difficult task. It’s hard to compare find what we are getting with Ms. Cory and Ms. Julie.

I selected this daycare/​preschool for my 17 month old son because it is close to my job and the reviews on this website were very good. It has far exceeded my expectations! Cory and Julie are wonderful and after the first couple of weeks, my son does not cry or fuss but smiles when we pull up to the driveway. I was officially sold when I showed up last Friday for their Halloween parade; it was adorable to watch all of the little ones walking around the neighborhood in their costumes to trick or treat! But even more so, I liked the fact that even though I was there, my son still listened to Cory and Julie. He did not act up and followed their directions, even when they had to be firm with him. And they were not afraid to discipline the children in front of the parents. The facility is always clean and the children do learning activities daily. This was a great fit for my son and we are really happy to have him in daycare here.

For anyone reading this review, I want you to know that I would not ever recommend a daycare for any parents if I’m not 100% sure that it is one of the best choices for your kids. My son, who is almost 3 years old, has been with Ms Cory and Ms Julie for over a year now and I can’t tell you how much he’s grown socially, intellectually, verbally, mathematically … etc. Not only are they professional, they are passionate about what they do and I believe that this is the reason why my son is developing and excelling in all areas.
My son is so attached to them. Every weekend He tells me that he misses Ms Cory, Ms Julie, And his friends. Although I would love to be the only one that my son misses :), It doesn’t hurt to know that my son is also attached to the people that he spends most of his days with (7 am-5:30 pm 5 days a week).
There is also Ms Zayra (not sure about the spelling :)), the spanish teacher. My son loves her and I do too. Every time I see her there is a smile on her face :).
And what can I say about the price. Honestly, you’re getting much more that what you’re paying for. Besides the full-​time daycare, they provide Breakfast, Snacks, and lunch in addition to alot of activities such as BBQ, nature walks, birthday parties, earthquake drills and much more.
Although they run the daycare out of a home, once you enter it you can never tell :). If that is something you are concerned about, I encourage you to make a visit before you make a decision.
There is one more thing I want to mention but its not about my son its about me :). I just graduated last week and when I went to pick up my son for the commencement, Ms Julie handed me some roses from ABC Blocks staff with a beautiful card just for me :). I can’t tell you hoe much I was touched but it just tells you the kind of people they are and they are definitely not about the money. You can’t help but develop a personal connection with them.
Suffice it to say, Six months ago we were looking for a new apartment and my husband had his mind set on Mountain View but I refused to move their and we found an apartment in san jose just because I know I will never find a better place for my son to be at during the day. Although my new apartment is approx. 15 min away (compared to 3 to 5 min from my previous apartment) it is totally worth it.
I strongly recommend this place. just call and set up an appointment and you’ll find out for yourself.
BTW, we’re leaving the country next week and unless I can get myself a private jet to fly my son to and from ABC Blocks, next tuesday 06÷23÷09 is my sons last day there so hurry before someone else takes his place or I get that jet looool.

My kids have never ever ever been taken care of anyone but myself. After deciding I needed to be back at work, and work on my education, I decided it was time for DUN DUN DUN: Daycare! I started looking around for some help, and let me tell you. I found some SCARY people out there. I will not mention who they are, but there were people who ran daycares out of their barely lit basements, had people coming in and out WHILE the kids were there, or had no social skills when you talked to them on the phone. The one’s that were decent charged a freaking arm and a leg for barely anything. This all changed when I finally resorted to my last hope– Unilocal. I read Joanne V.‘s review. I don’t personally know her, but I have come across her work (some of my friends go to her to get their hair done), and I have talked to her about getting extensions, so I knew she wasn’t some random person on the internet. She’s credible, and such a sweet, professional person. THANKS JOANNE V!!!
I said, what the heck, why not try calling ABC Blocks? I was curious about the adobo she had bragged so much about (LOL), and since she mentioned these people were active at her church, it put me at ease. At first, to be honest, I was kind of hesitant, because my grandma had spent a little time with my kids, and I knew I didn’t want anymore strict, Filipino beliefs inflicted on my kids. LOL. I know, it sounds bad… but I gave it a shot, and a nice lady named Julie picked up, and told me that the lady who runs the place would be on the phone in a second, whose name was Corrie. I was a little taken away by Corrie, because she was the sweetest person you will ever talk to. SO professional, and proud of her schools’/daycares’ accomplishments. She was quick to tell me that this was something she’d been doing for 25 years, because 25 years ago, she was in the same position I am in today. I immediately took a liking to her, because she was so honest about her intentions, and seemed like she really loved her job. She invited me to her house the next day, so my husband, the two boys, and I took the 5 minute trip (BIG PLUS!!) to her home, and yes, it’s run out of her home, but it is such a spacious, welcoming place, that even I felt comfortable immediately. They have stairs, but there is a gate, and the preschool is run out of their furnished garage, nap time is done in their living room, and playtime is usually done in their hugeeee backyard.
I was so excited when I met them face to face, because it turns out that Miss Julie, one of their teachers, was a friend of my mom’s. She really was active at their local church. When I met Corrie, I was happy to see it was the sweet, loving lady that used to do the readings when I was still a little altar server. I couldn’t believe how lucky we were to have found this place. The boys have been there for about a month now. I think it’s Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, that the kids have the pre-​school program, and on Thursdays, they have playtime, and smaller activities. I know that they do take nature walks occasionally, but the weather hasn’t permitted that yet. They have a good amount of kids. Not too big, but definitely not boring for the poor teachers, LOL. I think they have 2 infants, (one being my youngest), and most of the kids are 2 – 3, and there are about 8 – 10 of them.
I can’t begin to say how thankful I am to them in the short time the kids have been going there. I can’t believe they charge what they do. I mean, it’s not cheap, but it’s reasonable, and for what they do? Hell, I wish I was a millionaire so that I could pay them more for everything they’ve done for my family. MY KIDS are soooo happy to go to school everyday, and we’re talking two little guys. A one and a two year old! They get up at the same time, and grab their clothes, and once we get there, they’re always happy to see their teachers Julie & Corrie in the mornings, and run to go get breakfast. They’ve become so much more respectful, and social. I can’t believe how different they already are. To end this terribly longgg testimonial about ABC Blocks, any of you reading this would be turning away from a good thing to not give Corrie or Julie a call. They’re such loving people with good hearts, and I know your kids will be happy in their care… while eating ADOBO! Hahahaha…

Searching for someone to look after your children is just as hard as looking for the right pair of shoes for a particular outfit… Maybe its harder.
Anyways after spending over a summer of searching for «the right place» I hate to say it, but my mother found this one. (dammit I hate when moms are right) Anyways she found this person at her church. So of course being that the director of the preschool and daycare was found at church, my fiancé and I were immediately worried. NOT about the care, but about the hardcore Catholic Filipinos. (those of you who are Filipino who have hardcore Catholic mothers will know EXACTLY what I am talking about.)
After contacting Corrie the first time, we set up a meeting the following day. And being that I myself am Filipino I was running late… YES FILIPINO TIME!!! I called Corrie and she was totally understanding about the 15 minute delay.
As we turned on Connifer, I was looking for a facility or building and sure enough the sign was outside of a house. (hmmm…baby daddy and I always said we’d never put our child into one of those… Just by personal preference.) So what the hell we were here, so why not at least hear what she had to say.
Our meeting was awesome. She was very open in regards to showing us around the house and where the kids were going to be at during the school period as well as her large backyard where the children have their outside play time. Corrie also took the time to show me the entire schedule as to what the kids do during the day, achievements and recognitions of the school as well as their meal plan, which on the 2^nd and 4^th Thursday of the month, the kids get to eat ADOBO for lunch… FABULOUS!!!
We got to meet with Airis’ teacher Miss Julie, that day as well and she was great. Very patient and kind.
Airis has now been attending for the last month and I must say I have seen her go through not only growth with her academic skills, but her social skills and just her mannerism. She’s learning to become more and more aware of pleases and thank yous as well as sharing.
Being that my daughter is the only child, she doesn’t get the opportunity to play much with children, which was my HUGE fear of putting her in a preschool situation that had a TON of kids. ABC Blocks currently has 6 children attending. They are staffed with 4 people and currently just Miss Julie and Corrie during the day.
At the school they are involved with many learning activities such as counting, ABCs, and social play time that includes sports as well. What is great about the school is that they provide breakfast, AM snack, Lunch, and PM snack. They also do nap time as well which I think is needed. Unfortunately my daughter doesn’t take them since she’s not quite adjusted to the environment. Their disciplining methods are great as well, they don’t believe in TIME out, they put the child in «COOL DOWN» which means that they child just needs to sit and relax during the activity time while the other children are playing. But they never make the kids feel horrible like they are bad apples.
The price is just right for full-​time child care and day care. They are also very proud to say that they have been doing this for I believe its 25 years and have sent their preschool children through Kindergarten with much success and confidence.
I highly recommend this place if you live in the area. You will not be disappointed. The chicken adobo was the sell point for us!!! LOL
