Wow. what a fabulous place. I was able to reserve a space 2: weeks in advance with no payment upfront. It allowed me to get the advertised specials and a month free deal. When we arrived it took less than ten minutes to complete the paperwork get my code and see my new unit. The facility is very clean, smells fresh and I feel safe that our possessions will be secure. When we needed a storage facility, we explored all the options in the area. A-​1 on Baroni was the only one that had everything we were looking for:
1. Excellent security. Most of the other facilities we visited consisted of units that could be individually accessed from outside. Even though there was some kind of fence or gate to get through, the potential for break-​ins is obvious. At A-​1 on Baroni, most of the units are contained in their large single building and the security system is excellent. If the passcode for the unit is not entered at the outside door, an alarm will sound. On one occasion, we entered when the door had been propped open by someone else, without entering our code at the front, using only the key to access our unit. Within seconds, Corina showed up, patiently and politely informing us of our mistake.
2. Temperature controlled. From previous experience, we know how heat from the sun can gradually destroy things over time when kept in an outside unit. At A-​1 on Baroni, the nicely air-​conditioned facility inside a large single building makes this a non issue. The A/​C is also very pleasant on hot summer days, so visiting and sorting in the storage unit is much more comfortable.
3. Super clean. Aside from being a newer facility, A-​1 on Baroni is also kept very clean. This really helps to make it pleasant to visit and store one’s things in. It is clean both inside and outside, by the way.
4. Quality construction. The building and the units are very well constructed. The passcode system at the doors is easy to use. We like the way the door to the unit slides smoothly and without that terrible metallic noise that we have encountered at other places. The carts to move things in and out are convenient and well maintained, even though it can sometimes be a bit tricky to maneuver them around bends.
5. Wonderful customer service. We can’t say enough good things about the manager we usually see on site, Corina. She is unfailingly pleasant, friendly and helpful, as well as knowledgeable and clear in all her explanations. It makes a tremendous difference, having this kind of person at the facility, as the «guardian angel» of our precious possessions.
A few tips that might help others make the best use of this facility:
* If there is no cart next to the door that you are accessing, you can usually find another one near another door or on a different floor.
* Bring a small plastic bag for any trash you might have, as there are no garbage cans at the facility.
* Always be sure to enter your code into the door to the building when you enter, even if the door is open (probably because someone else has propped it open, to move things in or out). Otherwise, the alarm will go off when you open your unit. After office hours, this could be inconvenient.
* Some simple shelving, like the light plastic units sold at Home Depot or Lowe’s, can help maximize the use of the space in your unit.
* To increase your chances of getting a parking space, try to access your unit during non-​peak times.

I am renting a storage unit at A1 Storage on Baroni Ave., I was treated with respect and kindness by Corina. I am very please with the customer service and the cleanliness of the facility, I would definitely recommend A1 to family and friends. Maralee N.

Amazing deal! I had a storage for «free» for a month, after fees/​insurance/​purchases of keys, I only paid $ 40. Receptionist, CORINA, provided a very welcoming and informative sign up procedure. She was helpful with all my questions. I highly recommend this storage! Very clean, professional staff like Corina and cheaper than any other storage in the area.

A-​1 Self Storage Baroni Ave in San Jose is a great facility for your personal belongings. They have an awsome manager Corina who goes above and beyond her duties to make you welcome. This location is always clean; as well as the bathrooms. I would recommend this location to those looking for safe storage!

I rented from here a little while back and finally am getting around to writing a review. Corina was absolutely fabulous! She worked out a great deal for me and my family! I will definitely rent again with her and this facility if I’m ever in the area again!

The staff is great. Units secure and clean. Have been with this location a few months and very happy searched to find this location to move unit locally.

Karina at the Baroni Avenue location is always extremely helpful and nice! They make it easy to pay your bill with the kiosk, in office or online. Also if you’re moving in the summer their building is air conditioned!

My parents actually introduced me to this place when I moved back from the East coast. They, too, have a storage unit here. I’m so glad that I looked into this recommendation. Customer service is great! Corina’s introduction to my first storage unit ever, was simple & clear. Easy access to my units, great location & friendly customer service. I’ve stored at several A-​1 Storage locations and this is by far the best. The building is new and gorgeous (other places I’ve stored at are literally sheets of plywood). It is clean, well-​lit, music playing.
On top of it, the lady who works the desk is super sweet! She was so nice to me I was in awe. It made my day and made it very hassle-​free when it came time for me to end my unit lease.
I would definitely store here again, if need be.
The only downfall: I can never seem to find a cart. It wasn’t a huge deal for me since you can park right next to the elevator and my unit happened to be right outside the elevator in the building but for others this might be an issue. I only ever saw one and every time it was in use or was just no where to be found. Still will give 5 stars though because they have excellent customer service. But maybe supply another cart or two?

When my husband accepted a job transfer to the San Jose area, I began my search for a storage facility.
The selection of storage facilities was wide and vast in San Jose and pricing very competitive.
We selected A-​1 for several reasons. The close proximity and access to where we are living and the hours of operation. (This particularly came in handy when our move was delayed and we arrived behind schedule!).
We were also very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. While it is true we are just storing «stuff», who would want their «stuff» being stored at a facility which is outside and could get wet?
So, the fact that most of the units are indoors or under awnings is great. (Many facilities we looked at were outside and were not enclosed).
The staff is some of the friendliest that I have ever met. They have been very professional and welcoming and accommodating.
If you are looking for a clean, well run, facility with great hours of operation, I would certainly not hesitate in recommending this location of A-​1 Self Storage.

I stored with A1 for about 4 months, the place was always clean and well lit! The facility overall was pretty modern, I defiantly would recommend this place!

Recently I rented 2 storage units here. The facility is great. All indoor, camera surveillance, great customer service, and the facility is super clean. The rates are great. I shopped around a few places and found that their monthly rates were the best. There is no lease contract. All month to month. I got the first month free with their online promotion. You can reserve the units online. Overall, I am very happy and know that everything I have stored will be safe and secure. You have access to your storage 7 days a week. I highly recommend A-​1 Self Storage to anyone out there for all your storage needs.
