Came in early in the morning, I had some of their oven baked breads along with their cream puffs. However, some of their pastries are dry, tasteless and stale. This is one of many Vietnamese stores packed together in this otherwise crowded shopping mall.

I love coming here to get their cream puffs! Crunchy outer shell with a slightly sweet creamy filling. Perfection! Their green jello dessert is also amazing, sorry for forgetting the Vietnamese name. They have nice workers, but I think they’re cash only. They sell banh mis too and other baked pastries which makes the store smell pretty lovely! Come give this place a try!

OHMYGOODNESS ! Banh Mi here is so bomb. The bread has the perfect crunch and softness to it. Everything is made fresh in front of you too. My go to ! The cakes here are delish too. Perfect amount of sweetness, not like american style. So good, so awesome, so cheap.

********************** 1463 ********************* This small Vietnamese bakery shop in the KOLH’s store shopping plaza. The pastries here are just OK. The cookies with strawberry, blueberry, and chocolate are good. But what I just discovered here is the Combination BANHMI, for only $ 3, it comes with ham, jambon, Vietnamese pork loaf, shredded pork, and dried shredded chicken. The Combination Banh Mi was delicious with their housemade pâté & mayonnaise sauce, topping it off with cucumber, pickled carrot & daikon, cilantro, green onion, and jalapeño. If you love meat, order this BANHMI combo here, the best sandwich for your $ 3, you can’t even get McDonald sandwich for this price!

McKee plaza is a little run down and scares some people away. From the outside this place doesn’t seem like much. The inside however offers some goodies that over the years I still have yet to find else where. Growing up as a child, this was the only bakery in the neighborhood and I’ve had a chance to try a handful of items. Their cakes are normally a hit or miss so I primarily pass by here for pastries and sandwiches. The pastry that I go only here for is their pineapple buns! It’s a piece of flaky bread that’s so simple, but so good! They also have a chicken pie empanada which I also normally grab some of because although it’s a savory item, it has an interesting sweetness to it. They also have some more common items such as Asian cream puffs(vanilla and durian) and Vietnamese yogurt which is a little more tart than normal yogurt and served in clear cups. They also have hot dog buns that come in two(they’re connected) and all of my younger siblings love these!

I love this place. It’s been here since forever. I sometimes buy their pastries which are decent but their sandwiches are fabulous. Their bread is super good and the quality of their meats that they put in there is top notch. They have been struggling lately because Phat Tri opened up a few doors down. That was really a dirty move. I mean San Jose is HUGE, why did they have to open another sandwich shop in this tiny strip mall and compete with this tiny little bakery? Anyway, 111 Bakery has had to lower their price of their sandwiches from $ 3.25 to $ 2.50 and they give more meat and veggies than before. They’ve also lowered their pastry prices as well. I feel so bad for them. They’ve always had great food at great prices and now they are fighting so hard to stay afloat. Please stop by when you have banh mi cravings and buy one. Help keep them around so my favorite banh mi place doesn’t close their doors. The girls who work there are always super sweet. Come support a hard working small business. Please.

noticed banh mi station in the rear, price cut from $ 3 to @2.5. already had a banh mi, so went for the baked goods. buys: butterfly(1.5) –flakey, crispy, crunchy, flavorless –would buy again if in the mood baked cookies with fruit paste center(.50) –texture dry, powdery. fruit not so fruitty, more like gel would skip crumbs: –maybe banh mi is the food to get here. baked items inconsistent. –service quick, courteious.

They make the best sandwiches here… The absolute best banh mi hands down. The place is super low key so you have to know to know. You know? I just gave YALL the inside scoop… You would have never known off the name itself and off the displays. But towards the back they have the banh mi station and it’s absolutely fire. Notice how this review shoulda been done years ago. I just never knew what this place was called till now.

I came in as a paying customer, and I needed to use the restroom, and this skinny girl that was working say there is no restrooms here go to Macdonald over there, I didn’t buy anything at McDonald, she think I’m stupid or something there is no restrooms in the store and it’s not like I just came in and ask to use the restroom, she actually laugh to her Co worker, saying something about me, in front of my face. I order than I needed to go while I was waiting for my order, you seriously gonna be a bitch about the restroom with your customers.

Was prompted to come here to grab breakfast, due to them opening early. Their reviews on Unilocal made it seem their bread was pretty special. I wasn’t too pleased. I tried the grilled chicken, which someone stated was American BBQ. Indeed it was! Not too bad. The bread wasn’t really flakey and the inside was pretty dense for an Asian baguette. I usually like the pretty flakey and not dense. It was just bread to me and didn’t seem to have the right Tate for a Banh Mi. I grabbed some baked pork buns(the ones with the egg and Chinese sausage). I’ve never seen this done but was pretty impressed! Their cream puffs were delicious. The dough wasn’t dense and the perfect amount of filling.

This review is strictly for the cream puffs only. This nifty little bakery is located in the same plaza as Kohl’s. You might miss it if you don’t actually go into the parking lot of the plaza. Which is alright with me, because more cream puffz for me then! So about these cream puffs. YES. YES. YAAAAS. These Vietnamese/French cream puffs are the best in town. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. I used to tell my mom it was my birthday(lol, as if she didn’t remember the day she endured the 10 agonizing hours of labor) so she’d get me these. I buy them by the dozen and then I buy a dozen more because I don’t like sharing. It’s affordable and who can say no to these delectable bites of goodness? They come in assorted flavors, but I like the durian one the best! Plus, they have these cute flower designs, heh. I’m all for bakeries that stay consistent. It’s nice to go back to a place and see nothing’s changed, especially the taste and décor. I’m sure if you ask anyone who lives within a 10 mile radius if they know this place, they do. If they say otherwise, they’re LYING. It says a lot when a business is still in business despite all the other store changes in the plaza it’s located in. There’s a reason they have returning customers. CREAMPUFFSFORALL!!!

This is a bakery i’ve grown up eating for a while. Big fan of the Pâté chauds, shredded pork buns, bbq pork buns, ham&cheese croissants, … scratch that. I love practically everything here. Never have I had a bad experience here. The bread is always soft and savory. Its been a while since i’ve last visited however i use to go here at least once a week back in high school. The best part about this place is that its fairly cheap. You can easily satisfy your hunger with a variety of different baked goods for 5 dollars. If you aren’t feeling their premade baked goods, you have the option of buying a Vietnamese sandwich which are also good(better than any Lee’s sandwich). Peeeeep the place out.

I really like this place. Im making it my to go for vietnamese sandwich. Unlike other place, they add cucumbers Which gives it a nice fresh balance. Their bread is soft n a Tad crunchy on the outside. Though I always request don’t toast my bread because the bread comes already with a slight toast. They use this super yummy butter spread that has lots of flavor n then add think Maggie sauce… so much flavor… I’m excited to finally found a banh mi place I like. Also they sell random stuff like pizza bread, Ham bread, crab bread n tons of cakes. I thought the pizza bread was delis, but best to heat it up for few sec, cuz it’s kinda cold. Yum yum, small bakery, who knew but it’s a awesome find!

This is my boyfriends go to place for sandwiches when he’s in the area! He picks this place over lee’s sandwiches, which is in the same plaza. He loves how they have warm bread and he can actually see them make the sandwich. Extra plus is that they always wear gloves!!!

Decent ban mi sandwiches. Fresh soft on the inside, with a bit of crunch on the outside french bread. I really liked the shredded chicken, but need to revisit for the meatball which was simmering in the sauteed tomato broth. Beware, the BBQ chicken at this sandwich shop tastes like American BBQ. The chunks of chicken itself was good, but it was quite a surprise because most places don’t use American BBQ. My buddy got all sorts of random pastries, made me kinda jealous. I need to go back and try those!

I had my share of Vietnamese sandwiches, and this bakery just takes it up the chart! Their store is small and modest and not much come whenever i come around but their combination sandwich is worth coming back for. You can see it made right before your eyes and their pâté and meat slices are just phenomenal. I used to get the regular bread but the baguette is just double in size… which is just enough for me!

Okay this is definite, NEVER come here. I came back and brought my molding food(which is growing rapidly) which has only been FIVE days old and EVERY single worker told me too bad basically. I even told them I got sick the day before and threw up and they still did not give me a refund or exchange for my molding one. I had a nasty taste in my mouth for a day and this place still does not give me a refund. I’m sorry but principles above all. This place is filthy and disgusting and I bet rats are roaming around the back. I once saw a fly in their display. Um this is low quality food with low quality service. PLEASEAVOID and I also told them I don’t need a refund or exchange but I will definitely need to make a call to the health department. Their response was«go ahead», so yes I will go ahead and report your sanitary issues. To end the story, my story will spread on to my family and friends and not only did you lose one customer but you will lose about 20 and i will make them tell their friends until your establishment closes down and I am there to watch.

Fresh baked bread, pastries, pearl tea, and Vietnamese sandwiches. Move over Subway, because this place offers some awesome Vietnamese sandwiches. If only they had a outdoor patio or some dine in; this place will sell BIG. Their Vietnamese sandwiches can come in either their fresh baked bread or baguette. I suggest you get their regular bread because to me that’s how a Vietnamese Sandwich should be in. You have the option of choosing what you want in your sandwich: pâté spread, mayo, cucumber, tomato, jalapeño, and cilantro. One of my comfort food is their #2 sandwich; can’t go wrong with this one. They also have other pastries like hot dog bun, custard bun, bbq bun, etc. This place may be located between a Pure Water and Round Tables, so you may not notice them as easily but if you want pastries and Vietnamese sandwiches it’s the place to go to. oh lastly, it’s cash only. Don’t forget to bring the papers.

How could I have neglected you, 111/Ambrosia Bakery, for so many years? While the memories of elementary school days when I couldn’t even finish one banh mi bi(shredded pork) are imprinted in my brain, their smell is still imprinted in my purple lunch box. My mom and I revisited this trove last year where I recollected my childhood along with a large pink box of cinnamon twists, banh mi ruoc/cha bong(finely shredded pork bun) with the green onion on top, the dynamic duo of hot doggies, banh mi xa xiu(barbecue pork bun), and taro buns. 111 every day for a week. I was in love. But guess what? This week, I have 6 banh ruoc and a taro bun! Sweet carby heaven, take me now. 111 every day for another week. These goodies are great even days later! Keep them refrigerated just in case. Pop them in the toaster for 3 minutes and make yourself a glass of ca phe sua da(Vietnamese iced coffee) while you wait, and enjoy the two for a fantastic quickie breakfast. Nom I’m going to grab one right now.
