Visited this place for brunch on our way to Coachella. Great variety, prices and fantastic service! The bf got a carne asada burrito and I got the breakfast ham burrito. The former was so-so, but the breakfast burrito was delicious! Cheesy, hot and very tasty(okay maybe a littttle too salty). We also tried the Horchata(made from scratch everyday, wow!). Not as sweet as typical horchatas we find elsewhere, and definitely much more cinnamon-y(which I like!) We were served nachos that were soooo crispy! There’s a fresh salsa bar where you can help yourself to the sauces. They have 3 types of salsa, I stuck with the green because the other two were waaaay too spicy for me. The only downside is that the food tends to be on the greasy side, which made me feel a little uncomfortable afterwards. But overall it’s still great!

Had breakfast burritos and horchata this morning. So good I had to write a review. The burritos are hot cheesy and delicious. Definitely try the guacamole from the salsa bar! Horchata is not too sweet and tastes delicious. Worth the trip. Of note– under new ownership and is called Azteca if you’re looking for the place.

I would actually give this place a 4 star rating but the reason i give it 5 is because their is not another place(that i have tried) in the SJ/Hemet area with traditional Mexican food this little place reminds me of when i lived in Los Angeles a little hole in the wall restaurant with only about 5 tables to seat customers lol anyhow the food is great the best in the valley(so far) ive been trying to find a great tasting Mexican place and this spot really comes closes to my target. I know about Mexican food i am Mexican lol but the real reason is that im a construction worker i travel alot and haved tried various amounts of Mexican restaurants so i can distinguish between great good and bad food. Hope this place keeps up the good work

Chagolla is no longer Chagolla it is now Azteca and it is now thee Best Mexican Taquiera around! The tripas are the best I have ever had! Everything we have tried has been so dam good! And to top it off the prices are so reasonable. I think they are the lowest priced in the valley.

One of the best Mexican food restaurants in town! The location recently changed names. The place used to be Chagollas but is now Taqueria Azteca… different name but same great food(maybe better). I’ve been here a handful of times since the name change and had several different menu items such as, the volcanes, burritos(dry and wet), menudo, pozole, tacos, and tortas. EVERYTHINGISGREAT!!. The service is outstanding and the prices are awesome! I like that everything seems to be fresh and cooked to order. It’s a small kitchen so you can see everything they cook. I also really enjoy the salsas they have at the self serve salsa bar. They have a light red colored one that a bit hot but delicious. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good food and good prices!

Good food. Nice little hole in the wall. A bit pricey for a taco shop though. And they are kind of stingy with their sauce. I recommend though.

The food was good, nothing spectacular, the restaurant itself was horrible, it was really hot and so were my drinks, even with ice in them, I won’t be going back.

The food is great! But I think they need to save on space and invest in some smaller chairs, those things are bulky! I could hardly make it to the register. But it felt like being in Mexico. Prices are good for the big portions.

Do you love Tijuana street tacos? This place is legit, they’ve got all the regular and questionable meats you’re looking for: carne asada, buche, al pastor, lengua, tripa, birria, carnitas, chicharrone, pollo and cabeza. $ 0.99 per taco is a great deal my friends, you won’t find a better tasting taco this side of San Jacinto. The soda machine is flat so get a can or bottle, you’ll thank me later.

Still my my favorite hole in the wall in Hemet /San Jacinto. I have recommended this place since we moved to the area in 2005. I recommend anything on the menu its all good or at least better than anything in the area.

TWOWORDS: MACHACABURRITO. It is absolutely the best breakfast burrito that I have ever eaten. I live right around the corner and I get it every weekend. The tacos are really solid but the salsa they give you is great. It is so flavorful. They also have a really good pozole(good price too) and a nice spicy shrimp cocktail. This is not your average mexican food it is the most authentic food around this area. Drive by on a weekend morning and you’ll see the crowd… that many people can’t be wrong.

I was the only non Mexican here which is a good sign. I asked if they took credit cards as I only had a $ 5 bill cash. The guy looked at his credit card machine n said no not right now. I was hungry!!! I just came down from the mountain after a morning of mountain biking and wanted to chow down. I drove in circles trying to find this place based on the 5 star Unilocal reviews. Aaaarrrrghhhh!!! Well they guy behind the counter was nice and said«lets see what we can do. How hungry are you???» As he’s looking at my tiny self n wondering how much I planned on eating. They had tons of stuff on their menu I’ve never seen n wanted to be adventurous. Buche? Desehebrada? for tacos what the heck is that? They had cabeza(head) and tripas(tripe) tacos too amongst the normal selection of pollo, carne asada, birria, al pastor, chorizo. I ordered the lengua(tongue) n chicharron(pig skin) taco to be adventurous. 99cents a taco $ 2.35 for a side of rice and $ 1.75 for my small horchata drink. I went over my budget of $ 5. The guy was nice enough to say just give me all u have and we’ll call it even. I emptied out my change purse full of coins. I wish I would have ordered two more tacos instead of the side of rice. The side of rice was so not worth $ 2.35. It was small!!! The tacos were yummy but if u order a chicharron taco ur going to expect some grease. I think I was expecting a bit more meat connected to that grease but with a squeeze of the Mexican lime to cut the grease the taco was delicious and strangely addicting. I only ate half of it though still too greasy for me. The lengua taco was tender. Cilantro onions red sauce all typical delicious fare. N they put roasted Serrano chile n roasted onions and sliced radishes on the taco plate too. I enjoyed all those garnishes. Ehhh if ur in the neighborhood come here. If u have to drive in circles like I did to find the place I’d say there r plenty of other places to grab a bite at. Nothing incredibly special u have to go out of your way for here.

I live all the way in Culver City, but we drive 2 hours to get here during tax season because we love Arellano’s tax services right next door. During the sometimes long wait we like to eat here because the food is delicious. Everything is really fresh. Their rice and beans are heavenly. The salsa is great. The tacos and taquitos are really really good. I would definitely recommend this to anyone in the area.
