Love the service here, it was a great hair cut experience. Henry was awesome so was the lady. Beautiful, neat place, it’s worth the money for what they have done.

I have always got compliments with Vicki’s perm. I would say I have her to do perms for 5 times in the past 2 ½ years, long and short. In the past 3 trips, I had short hair perm which came out fantastic. Little do I remember, I ending up had to re-cut my hair some place else. Spending another $ 60 to re-cut my hair. Why? If you show her a photo what you want, she screams at you, scouting you and fluffing your hair with her fingers saying«NO! ISNOTLIKETHAT! ONLYTHISANDONLYTHAT!!! U UNDERSTAND??» If you pretend to listen to her mumble jumbo(like nodding your head while updating FB status, she will bark at you and force you to look at her in her eyes while watching her shows you ‘the trick’ on how to ‘twist’ your hair, ‘pull’ your hair up. I am a person with lots of tolerance, except when I am tired. So, in order to put a ‘mute’ on her drama, I let her do whatever she has to do to get me pay and leave her salon ASAP. Can’t wait to ripe off the gown and run. But I can’t; for ‘twice’ I was ‘advised’ to stripe down to my bra before putting on the gown.(She didn’t turn on the A/C and other time, I worn a wide neck hot pink dress? I have no clue.) Like other reviewer, the stank smell stays with me for a week now. Being laughed at smelling like ‘wet poodle’ WTF? It never happened before! My hair is fried and dry. This time when she does my perm, my hair ain’t curl, just stink! So straight my colleague had to point it out. Made an appointment a week in advance to re-perm; showed up on time, but was told I should leave if I couldn’t wait. She demands $ 35 re-perm! Other salons would gladly re-perm for free. I paid $ 35 but she only do a few patches of hair. Put me in a position either pay her more or walk out ugly and she is not responsible. Vicki, don’t give me a bad perm to prove your point. Don’t blame on my hair cut. Don’t nag me to give out the other stylist’s name. I know you can do much better. If my just below ears hair doesn’t curl up, it is either you did it intentional or your stinky product sucks ass or both. I truly wish your new location has more walk-ins so it make sense for you to keep the A/C on. 78 degrees inside is not fun when outside temperature is 91!

Vicky is a hair cutting genius! Her layering skills brought my hair back to life. After my second baby, I lost 70% of my hair. For a woman in her early 30’s…it can be soul destroying! My hair was so thin, you can clearly see scalp on top. I was devastated until I made a trip to V Connection. I wasn’t even trying to get a style to my hair… went in for a trim only… just thought it was hopeless… but Vicky said she will make it look thick and full. I really didn’t think she could, but O.M.G! She layered it in a way where it covers all the thinning at the crown! Best part is the maintenance. All I have to do is turn my head upside and blow dry… just five minutes in the morning and I’m out the door. VICKYGOTSKILLS! Thank you so much, Vicky, for giving me my confidence back! You rock!

My first Unilocal review ever! All I can say is «Vicky got skillz!!». Have been going to her for years. The only cons is that she is always busy so remember to make an appointment before you go! Her price is on the high-end but her work product too. I tried other stylist but they are not the same.

I get my hair done once a year(Japanese magic straighten hair). I go where Tom(my hairstylist) go. He been my stylist for over 10 yrs now. He remember how I wanted my hair to be done and what need to be done. He did really good job and spend more time on me. Because I have natural curvy hair, which is not common for Chinese. He make sure my hair is not over fried and straight. If there area is not straight after a week, you could go back and get fix. He is temporary there right now until next month April, after his new shop finish remodeling. He only take Cash for now until new shop open

I have been Vicky’s loyal customer since I moved to the United States five years ago from China. Her skills of cutting hair is the best in LA(I tried many different places in Korea Town, Rowland Heights and Westwood) from my opinion. No matter short hair or long hair, she always handles it professionally and confident with great results. It might be a little bit pricy, but I always give her 20% tip, because she worths it! She just saved my hair this weekend. I don’t mind driving over to her place from Santa Monica :)

I’ve been getting my hair cut from Vicky even before she moved to this location & she’s been here for 13 years! I’m not her best customer since I’m so not high maintenance. I go way too long between cuts but she never gives me a hard time. Today was my day for a shorter summer cut. I have way too much hair & it gets way too heavy. Vicky does exactly what I ask her to do… thin it out, choppy, messy, bangs… then viola… I’m good to go. Usually once a year, I also get a wave for body & texture. She does a beautiful job & she’s super nice too.

Ken, thank you! It has been a few weeks since I sat in your chair for the first time and wow! this cute Japanese cut and color job you did still looks better than anything I’ve ever had, ever, anywhere. Ken is also specialist in Men hair cut. My boyfriend got his haircut from Ken, and he loved as much as i do. We are really looking forward to coming back for more! Go here now. You will look better.

I LOVE Vicky. I LOVE her so much. I LOVEYOU Vicky! The reason why I give 3 stars: A couple years back, got my haircut and body wave perm which came out PERFECTLY. I loved it so much that I vowed to never go to any other salon … EVER!!! She’s also super sociable and knows how to talk and she’s fun. I gave that entire experience a 5 star rating. I moved to China for a couple years and surprisingly found an AWESOME stylist(which I never thought would happen in CHINA) but came back to LA. I was due for a haircut, but decided to do a perm too because I was going to Vicky and I loved it so much last time. I went in, told her what I wanted and she was on it. I was really excited, and hoped for the same results as the first time. After she was done, it looked ok. I wasn’t too happy but was still hopeful. The last time I washed it a few times before I LOVED it. When I went home, my hair STANK… like seriously STANK!!! My bf was like, what’s in your hair? It smells! I thought it could just be the chemicals and I was patient for about a MONTH! STILLSMELLED! I even called Vicky and left a message asking her about it. She NEVER called me back??? Why Vicky??? WHY!!! I love you so much!!! You hurt me so much!!! End result, smell never went away. It was permanent. I even tried to wash it out with special shampoo but it didn’t work. My perm didn’t last very long either. I’m ok with that but the smell, it’s so awful. It’s been 6 months since and my hair still smells. My conclusion is that she went cheap on her products. The first time I did it, my friend who went with me vouched that they only use high quality Japanese products. They probably did because I don’t remember this horrific smell before. But this time, it’s been a disaster. She charges a lot but she delivered the goods and that’s why I came back. But bc of this, I’m back on the market! Anyhow, I will never go back for perming ever again but she does do some sickass hair-cutting though. I still love you though Vicky, even though you don’t love me back enough to call me back!

Vicky is very skillful. You know how when you show the stylist a picture of what you want and the outcome looks totally different? Well, Vicky can really imitate the style. What you show her, is what you will get. She will be honest with you. She told me my head was big and it was. She said that some bangs will make my head look smaller and it did. She knows her stuff. If you want the latest Japanese trends, she knows them. She’s just a little pricy for me.

came here because my god parents recommended her. im pretty picky with my hair because I dye-cut-perm. my hair so often. I wanted high lights on my head and she gave me what I wanted but the problem was my hair couldn’t lift my hair color so I can’t blame Vicky because I dyed it so often. my first time bleaching was with her. I wanted to bleach most of my head but she recommended ONLY a couple of strands. prices are a big on thr expensive side. maybe like 100 – 200? varying from haircut-highlights-deep conditioning and type of dye. oh you fanccyy huh.

Vicky’s great at cutting long layers with bangs for Female Asian hair! Her deep conditioning treatment is worth it too. Hair Cuts ~$ 50, depends

Vicky the salon owner has been cutting my hair for a few years now. I’ve been to many salons before to cut simple layer cut and no one has been able to do it as good as Vicky. She said cutting layers is her specialty and I totally believe it. She does her magic and I come out looking great everytime! I have never had any bad experience here. The only thing I don’t like is when she tries to sell me stuff like shampoo and conditioner sprays. I have a hard time saying no, and it always end up costly like 20 bucks for shampoo! Other than that, the price for my hair cut and style is fair: $ 50. I will keep coming here for my hair cut. Ask for Vicky because she is the best one there.

I have been going to see Vicky since high school and I’m now 24! Obviously she has my loyalty. I think she is an amazing hair stylist and I have had many people compliment my hair cut and I always recommend Vicky! My only down side is the fact that she often talks to her other employees and it’s stop and go with my hair cut. Overall I have had too many great hair cuts with Vicky and recommend her in a heartbeat!

It’s not the store that I really like, it’s the girl who cuts my hair;. Kwan. She works a lot of different salons, but this is the closest one to me. Usually on Mondays and Tuesdays she’s here, but call ahead. Besides myself, she’s the only person I trust with my hair. Bad experinces with other hair stylist have left me in fear. Plus, she’s been cutting my hair since I was born. She’s really friendly, tells you the cons of the haircut you want, and teaches you how to manage it on a daily basis. I love her!

I must say, Vicky’s skill is superb! Especially the way she cuts and best on doing the Asian layers on your hair. The price is quite expensive here and I must say, she fucked up my hair by trying to make more money by recommending on getting my hair perm. BADIDEA! She still does a mean job on girls though.

I so don’t want to review this salon, but I like Vicky and want her to get some customers! She was referred to me by a friend and I cannot say enough about her skills. You don’t even have to bring a picture in, and she knows what looks good on a person depending on their face, style, and color. Regular cut is 50 $. She said highlights including base and color is 160 $. I know its a bit much, but I swear I’ve never had a haircut this good in my life. The salon is in an asian plaza on Valley Blvd. near San Gabriel Blvd. The place is clean, but beware there is a small parking lot if you get there at peak hours(noon and late afternoon-night). If she asks who referred you, say Maria. :)
