Stopped by here because one of my elbows had tendinitis and was bothering tremendously, have had accupuncture in K Town previously by a Korean Doctor but didn’t feel like losing 2 hours dealing with traffic going there so came to Dr Tsai, the office is extremely clean and organized and there is a pleasant mediciney aroma in the whole place which gives you the impression he doesn’t screw around and shoots straight for the root of the problem and is able to make an assessment of your condition and remedy in seconds!!! The examining room is very clean and comfortable and he does run the A/​C so its never too hot and musty, had 2 treatments and was given a herbal remedy to take during the preceeding days to aliviate the imflamation, let me tell you the relief has been immediate and very noticeable, I am extremely satisfied with his techniques and professionalism and would recommend him highly!!!

I have been seen dr Tsai for almost ten years, but he really screwed me this time. I had skin problem 3 years ago. He gave me this white cream. I found out more I use more I rely on it, basically can’t stop, it gets worse if I don’t use it.
What really made me mad is after I found out the fact that my skin can’t survive without it, I asked him many time if this cream made of herb as he stated, he always say yes.
This white cream is not herbal at all, it is chemical steroid, it make skin temporary looks good, cure the problem, but it KILL the skin.
So disappointed of him by abusing my trust to him. It is been 3 months now, I am still experiencing the the harm this cream brought me.

I haven’t had a visit to an OMD since my childhood years but this was a completely refreshing experience. Dr. Tsai was very warming and took time to explain everything to me. It’s a bit expensive but I was happy with the outcome of the visit and hope to get better with his medicinal service.

I had been struggling with psoriasis and eczema for YEARSSSSSSSSSSSSSS and kaiser had given me all sorts of steroided creams that’d bleach my skin and never completely healed my issue… In fact they told me there’s no cure…
I am probably as white washed as can be and so I had never been to an OMD before and was quite skeptical due to the form of medication they usually give… But my cousin recommended Dr. Tsai after her daughter and husband were also cured of their problems.
After I read the 3 reviews on here I was expecting a grumpy man who was going to yell at me about my poor life habits and choices. But Dr. Tsai was as smiley as they come! He was very knowledgeable and was able to tell me about my various other health issues without me even mentioning anything!!! He was very nice and friendly and best of all, I used his creams/​ointments for Less than 2 weeks and my skin is now CLEARED (and I think my skin got smoother too) I am going to recommend everyone I know with this problem to him!!!
It can get pricey if you don’t have insurance, but better to pay a lot one time than a $ 20 co pay for the rest of your life plus medicine costs, especially if they don’t work!!!

I went here to have Dr. Tsai take a look at eczema on my hands and neck. I read above 2 reviews before I went so I was totally prepared for a mean, patronizing doctor. And I’m totally confused now because he was complete opposite of that! He was very nice, had a big smile like Buddha the whole time, and congratulated me when I told him I was pregnant, and gave me many tips to improve my skin. He even gave me a free pair of gloves as a gift (he forgot to charge me and he was like oh forget it, it’s a gift).
I’m going to have to see if his meds work because I just went today but the eczema on my hands area already looking slightly better. He said I could come back any time if I had any more problems and told me to come back after I have the baby so he can treat the freckles on my face. I definitely will if he can make them go away!
To me, it was a pretty pleasant experience, so I don’t think you should be too scared to go in.

He’s abrasive, he’s patronizing, and he works.
Like my other reviewer here, every dermatologist I’ve seen has written me off as hopeless. «Here,» they’d say scribbling down another prescription for yet another steroid ointment with Michael-​Jackson-​strength skin bleaching qualities, «this will make you less horrible. For now. Until we find something even scarier to slather over you.»
Dr. Tsai instead has powerful herbal remedies which – although they make you smell like an old Chinese miner – really piece together the tattered papier mâché of your eczema skin.
Generally, his treatments are 2 weeks long and you have to get to bed before 11 every night for the treatment to work its best (said the guy typing a review at 11:30). And if you don’t have a PPO, he’ll charge you any where from $ 200 to $ 100, depending on what he gives you in ointments, lotions, tonics and herbal pills (he makes them right there).
After that, you’re good for many months if you just stick to the no red meat, no late nights plan. Which I didn’t. Which is why I came back a year later.
Be warned though, the guy doesn’t have much in the way of solutions if you have dandruff. And also beware: he’s nice to boys but he is borderline mean to young women. My friends keep going regardless.

I’ve seen Dr. Tsai about 5 – 6 times over the last 3 years. I am always so hesitant coming back to see him since he’s so mean. He’s your typical Asian dad mean! I really hate it, but the reason I keep coming back is because I truly do feel that his herbal supplements are amazing.
I’ve had the most stubborn eczema and I really do mean it, that his detoxification herbal medicine really has worked for me. I’ve seen 5 – 6 dermatologists over the course of my life, and all of them prescribe me soo much strong eczema medication — steroids, immunosuppressants, antibiotics, etc. All of my dermatologists have told me that there is no cure for eczema.
However, seeing Dr. Tsai, his medication did help me. For eczema patients, he prescribes a horse oil cream ($ 12), detoxification supplements, anti-​itch supplements, and baby oil ($ 5 – you can buy this in a store). I have opted for the baby oil before, but I feel like it is so greasy and irritates my eczema, so he sold me a Noevir branded moisturizer ($ 27) (I really like this brand now!)
My itching has drastically subsided and my eczema has cleared up! I forgot how much I spent, but the 2 week herbal supplements run for less $ 100.
He accepts PPO insurance, but unfortunately I don’t have PPO! :(
I really do recommend him for eczema sufferers, but he needs to chill out. I really do hate the way he talks to his patients — «if you don’t follow my régime, don’t come back and see me, if you don’t listen to me» such a backwards mean Asian dad personality.
