My brother and I got«shakey» from the diarrhea brought on by this multi thousand square foot health code violation. We didn’t have breakfast, and waited until lunch to have the Shakey’s food here, and soon after we both got really sick. It had to be the Shakey’s, from here. The chicken might have made us sick, though it just as easily could have been the pizza or the toppings being past their prime… heck, it could have been the mojo potatoes, or a combination of it all. We didn’t care for the rude staff either. If they hate their jobs so much, they should quit and stop bring so negligent, rude, and stupid. We’re never going back to this place. We may not ever go to any Shakey’s ever again.

I came here for a date night w my fiancé. We both haven’t had Shakeys in years, suddenly felt nostalgic for the 90s. Every worker here made us feel like we are valued customers. Everyone is so nice, especially our server Jennifer. She was super attentive and cleared our plates right away, checked on our orders(made 3 separate orders) n suggested a different chicken to try next time. The food– got a thin crust pepperoni pizza, the crust was crunchy. just the way I like it. Each bite leaves a string of cheese. Fried chicken was super hot, fresh off the fryer. We are happy customers and will be back for sure!

Honestly one of the worst Shakey’s I’ve ever been to. Came here on my lunch break for the buffet, every employee looked like they didn’t want to be there. I got my plate and started to serve myself. I noticed they didn’t have much variety at all. They had a bunch of empty spaces, they had maybe two trays of pizza, but it was the pizza that nobody wanted. It kinda got pushed to the side, it looked as if it’s been sitting out for a while. I proceeded to the mojos and chicken, again almost all gone. The mojos they had were hard and the chicken was extremely oily. I waited about 10 minutes just to get pizza some mojos and chicken. There goes my lunch break. The only nice thing about this Shakey’s is the salad bar. Other than that I wouldn’t come here again. It’s at a good location and inside looks nice, but the quality of the food sucks and the employees aren’t attentive.

Usually go to Shakey’s to support school fundraisers. Shakey’s is a great place to do a school fundraiser since they will donate 25% of food sales during a three to four hour time slot back to the school. Pretty easy to set up a fundraiser, and the staff has always been friendly and welcoming. I’m definitely a big fan of the fried chicken and mojo potatoes. I’m not a big fan of their pizzas. My usual order is usually a two piece fried chicken meal with mojos along with a salad through the salad bar. The salad bar is nothing special, but eating a few leafy greens with the friend chicken and mojos does make me feel less guilty about having greasy delicious food. Dining in and eating the fried chicken and mojos is a must-do. I don’t recommend taking it home for eating the next day. The fried chicken and mojos are definitely not as good when reheated the following day or the next.

Stay away from the disgruntled Asian girl who will roll her eyes at you if you ask a question about their drink menu. If it wasn’t for my dad, I would’ve given her a piece of my mind.

Best shakey’s that I’ve been too. They bring food to your table and check on you the whole meal. Restaurant service at a shakey’s.

Today’s visit was worthy of 5 stars. I’ve been to this Shakeys on other occasions were it deserved less but today someone was doing something right! In particular our waitress. I swore I was going to remember her name! Ugghhhh I even made it a pint to go up to her and ask her for it ! Not only that but I asked her for her manager and praised her and her efforts and kindness. Because of her my experience was that little bump up from a 4 to a 5! She asked if I needed anything like ranch bbq or jalapeños or if I needed plates or any additional silverware. She brought everything promptly with a friendly smile. She was kind considerate and professional. She truly elevated the level of a dining in pizza experience … Not to sound corny but it’s the truth! I ordered the salad bar, an individual pizza 2 piece chicken and Mojos. The tv kept my toddler occupied just long enough to let mommy eat ! And there was plenty of room in the aisle to push our stroller thru. Very important !!! 5 stars today ! But it’s late and when I remember her name I’m reposting it!!!

Service at this place is awesome. Came here for bunch of lunch special and my mother in law asked why their was no chicken wings. Manager Carlos told her wings are not made on bunch of lunch but told her he would make her some. Carols asked how many she wanted and then brought them to our table when they were ready. Restaurant is clean and employees are friendly and helpful. Thank you for a awesome experience.

Haven’t been here for years but I’ve finally came back to give it a try for lunch since I was closeby. They have the unlimited salad bar and pizza for like 7 to 8 bucks for lunch, up until 2pm. Quality isn’t that great but hey… it’s unlimited.

Freaken lady didn’t believe that I gave her $ 0.90 cents when my total was $ 22.88! I counted it before giving it to her omg… and I gave her $ 100.90 yet she claims that I gave her $ 100.65! Why would you not believe a customer?! Standing there arguing with you over some change that you have miscalculated. That’s messed up lady for not believing a customer and I would not have given you the wrong change and if I did you should had told me. Next time I know not to come and grab food here unless it is a scout fundraiser.

I came during the lunch special. The customer service deserves 5 stars. They are real friendly and are always attentive. The pass around your table and ask of you need anything and switch out your plates. They could have more selection in there salad bar as I’ve seen at other shakey’s but over all a great experience

Randomly came here with a friend for lunch the other day. I have not been to a Shakey’s pizza in over a decade! They had great fried chicken and mojo potatoes. They have a great happy hour where you can choose different dishes for under 8 bucks each. I got a 2 piece of chicken and it came with a side of mojo potatoes. I honestly think their fried chicken is better than most fried chicken chains. The mojo potatoes are yummy, but I only ate 3 of them. They can get you full very fast! The pizza here is pretty good as well. Shakey’s uses a very robust and flavorful sauce in their pizza. I prefer the thin crust vs the pan pizza. The thin crust is tasty and not too heavy. The pan pizza has way too much grease! Overall this is a solid pizza place and a fun joint to bring kids!

Eating at Shakey’s pizza is like going to a movie featuring Seth Rogan– both have great comedic potential, but walking into it, you really aren’t sure if it’s going to be unpleasant, uncomfortable, or a few kilometers past the City limits of TackyTown . SPOILERALERT: The overall experience was pleasant with good food, reasonable prices, and just enough throwback chutzpah to piqué my 80s nostalgia. We arrived around 12:30 to attend my son’s soccer team party. Parking was a little tough, but we managed to find a space that allowed me to pull car seats out of my truck. As we walked in, that unmistakable smell of shaky’s sourdough hit me in the face, immediately transporting me back to 1986, at the Pasadena Shakey’s. A long line to order snapped me out of my nostalgia, and we walked inside. A salad bar, a few flatscreen TVs on the walls, some long tables in the middle, and a periphery of booths was the scene. To the left, a well appointed buffet was staying warm under several heat lamps. Not seeing a reserve table for our team, I got back in line, figuring I better get the kids something to eat. I ordered two kids buffets and three small drinks for a price of about 17 bucks. Not too bad, considering that’s about the same price you end up spending at a fast food joint. of course my little supermodels only had a scoop of mashed potatoes and a half scoop of macaroni and cheese… So ultimately, it’s kind of a waste of money for me to try to feed my kids. However, they had pretty much all the pizza, fried chicken, Mojos, roasted chicken, Rice, veggies, and a few other sides that you could stuff on your plate. Despite not having a reserved table, we were able to find seating at one of the long wooden tables in the middle of the restaurant. Some real cheesy games that spit out tickets for tokens kept the kids occupied after they had stuffed themselves on three bites of starch. For some reason, I would love to tell you I hated this… But it was actually really nice. That said, I don’t know if I would go back for any reason other than a team party, considering there are probably plenty of other pizza establishments that are closer to my home, and closer to the mark. but for old time sake, or if you have a litter of kids that you’d like to feed off of the same aluminum tray, you might consider Shakey’s in San Gabriel.

The last time I went to a Shakeys Pizza Parlor was for a fund raiser in high school. Things hasn’t changed bit my taste buds and minus the quarter operated video games. I came to this San Gabriel location with a few friends for lunch and it was okay. I probably ate more fried chicken than their pizzas. It was an All You Can Eat lunch buffet for $ 11.31 including tax. I thought it’s a reasonable price which also includes a soft drink. The pizzas served was just okay. Thin sliced pepperoni with mushrooms, a vegetables pizza with bell peppers, and they also have dessert pizzas with sweet toppings. I though that was a bit unique. They have sugar, chocolate, and icing on top. But it was very sweet. They also have fried chicken, rotisserie chicken, macaroni and cheese, mojo potatoes, and a salad bar. But I’ve only tried the chicken, mojos, and the salad bar. The rotisserie chicken was a bit dried while the sauce used was already scaley. Wasn’t that good. The fried chicken however was delicious. Not too dry since it coming out fresh. The breast pieces were gigantic while the drumsticks were also nicely fried. Yes, I ate almost all drumsticks. The mojos were fine too. It wasn’t burned to a crisp, and it was tasty. The salad bar area, I was a bit disappointed. The lettuce wasn’t too fresh… along with all its condiments. And the presentation did not look appealing. Overall the whole meal was just okay. I ordered a soda with my meal. Without the drunk you’ll save a couple bucks. I would say average everthing. I was most thankful for the fried chicken to save the day. The servers were nice. At least they kept bringing the clean plates over for us to get more food. :)

Bunch-a-lunch is the best lunch buffet value. About $ 8 all you can eat pizza, pasta, fried chicken, spaghetti, salad, breadsticks and more. The pizzas are ok for me — they don’t stand out from other pizza parlors save for the shakey’s special. The mojo potatoes and fried chicken is for me differentiator #1. Mojo potatoes are thin to medium sliced and fried where its crunchier and crispier than tempura batter but not over-fried where the meat of the potato is dry and hard. Meaning its still got some floof. The seasoning is on the salty side and it borderlines light cajun style which I like the thrill of the tease from. It’s not cajun but is it almost? Let’s eat another one to find out! The same technique application is made on the chicken. Love the fried skin — its in between KFC’s crispy chicken and KFC’s original recipe. Except there’s more meat and its really juicy and plump. Dip it in ketchup and hot sauce and this is why I work out multiple times a week!!! I’m hungry. Is it(bunch-a-) lunch time yet?

BUNCHALUNCH! Oh man, this Shakey’s is REALLY good. I know what you’re thinking: «Oh great, another Unilocaler high on Angel Dust, posting delirious posts about fictitious encounters in make believe restaurants…» Al contrario, amigo: THISSHAKEY’S ISINCREDIBLE! The food is delicious, the employees are refreshingly pleasant and helpful, and everything was clean and sanitary. Great job, Shakey’s of San Gabriel… Great Job…
