New MLC Pro Doc Center

if you are into getting swindled by a fake immigration law practice then this is the place for you. i have a friend who paid for their services and after one year they did nothing! they are not licensed to practice law and should not be giving legal advice, free or not.
please be careful if you plan on coming to this place for help. you should consider spending the extra dollars to go to a licensed immigration attorney for your benefit and for the benefit of your family.

I am an immigration attorney at Alliance Law Corporation in Alhambra. I represent a client who formerly sought the services of New MLC Pro Doc Center to help them with their I-​130 immigration form and NVC processing. I contacted MLC to request a copy of my client’s file (standard procedure among law offices and doc prep centers) so that I may properly represent my client and know what was submitted.
I am always very polite when contacting document prep centers and merely request a copy of my client’s file. The woman on the phone was immediately evasive and not cooperating. I continued these efforts to get my client’s file from this place over the course of 3 weeks. I made numerous phone calls and email requests. The woman kept saying her manager was not there and then she would pretend not to speak English or understand the question. I asked if I can speak to the attorney. She advised that THERE IS NO LICENSED ATTORNEY here.
I was forced to threaten to call the police on this doc center for withholding my client’s file (Trespass to Chattel as the file of a client is the property of the client and not the doc center/​law firm). They complied and my paralegal picked up the file the same day.
After my paralegal visited the doc center, he took a picture of the Chinese advertisement on the door of the doc center. My Chinese translator advised me that the advertisement on the door claims that New MLC Pro Doc center is claiming to be a law firm. To call oneself a «law firm» there must be a licensed attorney which there is not.
I know San Gabriel Valley is full of Travel Agencies and Doc Prep services that unlawfully practice unlicensed practice of law. Many many victims from these places come to my law office and tell me horror stories. I cannot confirm but deeply suspect based on my personal experiences with this business that New MLC Pro Doc center is engaging in unlicensed practice of law. Be careful!

Tried calling for a quote to translate a document related to work and they would not give me a price range; they insisted that we send our document over first, THEN they will tell us how much it costs for them to do the work. I handle sensitive information as part of my work, and I find it suspicious that they wanted the document before we could even decide if we wanted to get their service. Person on the other line was also very curt. I give this place two stars, since I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that they may do a good job in translating… but they seriously need to reconsider their business practices.

If you are Chinese, speak Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese), or are helping someone Chinese with immigration or legal issues in the U.S., then New MLC Pro-​Doc Center is a relatively inexpensive, but efficient paralegal and document service agency.
My wife (originally from Shanghai, China) and I have used them twice for assistance in putting together documents needed throughout the immigration and naturalization process. Besides helping make sure we did the right documents, they also helped make sure they were done correctly. Both Virginia (a fountain of knowledge and energy) and Susan (a kind angel) also freely gave advice and suggestions based on their experience.
It’s been more than 4 years since we first used MLC Pro-​Doc Center services. We actually did some paperwork and applications on our own a couple years ago and the immigration review and status took much longer than when MLC Pro-​Doc helped us. So, it was an extremely easy choice to go back to MLC Pro-​Doc for help with the next stage of the immigration/​naturalization process in 2013.
The office is located on the 2^nd floor of a small shopping complex with free parking in front. Because it’s in the heart of San Gabriel (1-​block east of Del Mar on Valley), it’s also pretty convenient.
Are we satisfied with MLC? You betcha? Will I use them again in the future? Already am.
