Albert Liu, DMD

Can you actually love your child’s dentist? Dr. Liu is amazing with children! He must have double majored in child psychology. We took our son to the dentist for the first time and we were a bit anxious since we’ve heard all the horror stories about dentist visits.
Dr. Liu is a zen master and was not rushed in any way. He really took time to make sure our son was comfortable with everything he was doing. He spent over an hour and 15 minutes with us and our son had a thorough exam and full cleaning. He asked pertinent questions about our son’s habits and and overall health and had some suggestions on things we were struggling with. He gave us his cell phone number to use if we had any questions. What?! I don’t think I’ve ever had a doctor, besides doctor friends, give me their cell number.
Why can’t there be more doctors like this?! My husband was hoping he worked on adults, too. No such luck! His specialty is children and he was really meant for this specialty!
Additionally, we’ve had way too many occasions where the doctor we see is great, but the office staff is not. I’m happy to say this is not the case here. The office staff is competent and courteous. They get back to you when they say they will and are not lazy. Unfortunately, our insurance does not cover the cost of the visits here so we had to pay quite a bit, however, it was worth every penny. Quality counts!
I think we’ve finally found our lifelong dentist! Yay!!!

Dr. Liu is very good in making my son feel comfortable and enjoying his dentist visit. My husband thinks dr Liu is soo good that he wished he could have dr Liu as his dentist too! The place is clean and modern, and kid friendly. What I love most is that he checked my sons teeth and did not feel the need to do Xray. My son had gone to other dentist before who always wanted to do xray for every check ups. Something I dont think is necessary for little children since xray might harm their growing cells. Anyway I am glad that we found an Excellent dentist for my son, now if only I could say the same for my OB.

My two girls love Dr. Liu. He is a blessing. I took my two daughters into see him yesterday. He’s professional, patient, gentle and made my daughters feel safe & comfortable. He took time to show the girls how to take care their teeth step by step. They love Dr. Liu. They said he’s funny :). Lastly, the toy box gave them a big smile on the way home.
My little one was the trouble one which always made me nervous to bring her to dentist, but Not anymore. She actually asked me to bring her back there next visit :). Good to know that a Dentist place can also be a fun place too!.I’m glad we found him. Thanks to all the recommendation on Unilocal!
I’m not big on writing reviews, but I thought this was worth the time since he is young but very professional & patient to little kids. He even gave us his cell phone number if we need to contact him with any question. What more can you ask for?

Dr. Liu and his staff are amazing! My five year old can’t wait to go back and see dr Liu again. He’s amazing with kids, so patient and caring.

This review is for Jan 10 & Jan 17. First of all, I have to recommend my friends and family who have children come to see Dr. Albert Liu. He is very sweet and caring Pediatric Dentist I have ever met. I had a 3 years old son that had a fracture on his tooth because he fell and he needed a dentist to exam and pull out his broken tooth. I had brought him to see his HMO Dentist, but they couldn’t examine him due to his fuzzy, nervous, and not willing to cooperate attitude, so they referred us to a children specialist dentist in Arcadia. I was not pleased or happy about that visit because that Dentist said my son wouldn’t cooperate and he have ADHD. I was mad, because the Dentist was not nice and not patience enough to treat my son. I am so glade that I came to see Doctor Liu. He is wonderful. My son actually calm around him and he pulled that fracture tooth out. He make sure that my son is okay and I am relax. I will definately bring my son back to see Dr. Liu. He worth every penny. ^_^

We are extremely happy with Dr. Liu. He is patient, friendly, and great with kids. We highly recommend him. Our 4 year old actually likes going to the dentist now!

What you didn’t see was Dr. Liu greeting us and listening to our concerns. Also not in the video is the toy box at the end of the visit!

I have four year old boy that cry every time he goes to the dentist. We took him to couple dentists before dr. Liu. I glad we found Dr. Liu, he very friendly and patient with kid. He try to talk and make them comfortable before he does any work. Now my boy love to go to the dentist. Highly recommend dr. Liu.

I was nervous about taking my 3 year old to the dentist for the first time. I have been traumatized by my childhood dentist so i didnt want the same for my kids. Dr Liu is AMAZING! He is so patient with the kids which is what they need. Dr Liu showed my son all of the instruments and let him feel them first before he put them in his mouth.
A few months ago I was at my kids’ preschool talking with 3 other mothers, one asked if any of us knew a good pediatrician. We have kaiser so that wouldn’t help but if she needed a pediatric dentist I would highly recommend ours. All of the mothers at the same time said They loved their kids dentist and their dentist is worth switching too. It turned out all of the kids go to Dr Liu!!!

Dr. Albert is, by far, the best dentist we have ever met! Our son has been his patient for almost 2 years now and we will have my younger one see him for the first time soon (now that he has teeth). When it comes to our children, we will do everything we can to provide them with the absolute best care.
Here are the reasons why I truly believe we have found the best pediatric dentist in Southern California:
— Dr. Albert is kind and patient. He is ALWAYS respectful of the children and parents. He takes his time to make my son comfortable so he can understand the importance of caring for his teeth. We saw Dr. Albert for the first time when my son was 18 months old, and he enjoyed the visit so much, he actually wants to brush and floss at home! The visits are awesome!
— Dr. Albert is a great teacher. Besides teaching the child about his teeth, he teaches parents everything you need to know to help your child… how you should brush, things to watch out for, how to involve the child, what should be done by a parent, etc.
— He carefully selects products and equipments that contain the least or no amounts of additives/​chemicals that can potentially be harmful in the future. He also knows details about foods that can help or hurt a growing child’s dentition. He would never recommend something that I would not give my children, so I trust him 100%.
— He is also careful when recommending fluoride, and will explain why it should be used if it should be at all.
— When he seems to be socializing with my son, he is actually carefully examining his nails and ears, all of which is part of a thorough dental exam. While counting fingers and talking about things to make my son laugh, he is inspecting his cartilage, nails, hair, etc… wow, talk about a great dentist!
— Dr. Albert is a great learner. He clearly loves his profession and is always reading to stay on top of this latest information in pediatric dental. If we ever bring up anything or question him on something he is not sure about, he will do more research, find out, and let us know what he thinks.
— I have already recommended a small handful of patients for Dr. Albert, including my beloved nephews who had to fly into California just to see him. Yes, a GOOD pediatric dentist is difficult to find! Do not take it for granted! After seeing how he treated each of our 5 boys, it is clear that there is no such thing as a «one size fits all» treatment. This is how dental care should be!
I cannot say it enough, but Dr. Albert is worth more than his weight in gold! I am giving him my highest recommendation! Words cannot even begin to describe how thankful I am to have found him for our children. I can say that I am extremely critical of most professionals and am about a thousand times harder on those caring for my children. I am a physician who chose to work part time, so I could raise my own children. I know that it can be difficult finding someone trustworthy to provide any sort of care for my kids. We plan on being Dr. Albert’s patients regardless of where he practices.
As a note, Dr. Albert did not know I was a physician when we first saw him. He is great to all of his patients! When I told him later that I am also a part of the UCLA faculty, he explained things in medical terms and gave us detailed, accurate answers to challenging medical/​dental questions. However, before knowing this, he still explained everything clearly in everyday language. I love his approach to us and his continued concerns about my children’s dental care.

FANTSTIC, BEST KIDS DENTIST EVER!!! We took our 2 year old who hates having his teeth brushed to Dr. Liu for his first visit. From making appointments and getting info from the front desk– Kandie– to Dr. Liu, it was as great as a dental experience as a kid’s and nervous parents could be! Kandie was SO helpful on the phone, she was super positive, answered questions, volunteered info, not like pulling teeth, so to speak, with other dental offices I called or popped in to check out before making an appointment. Dr. Liu was super kind, friendly, very easy going, educational, sympathetic, and incredibly patient with a good sense of humor– the man should be sainted! Did I say PATIENT?! He definitely took his time and there was no absolutely no sense of rushing, it really seemed like we mattered as patients. I had 3 older cousins in dental school when I was a kid, so I’m dentally picky, finding Dr. Liu was a total GOLD MINE! I won’t take my kid anywhere else!
Update– 1 year later 6÷25÷2014− Well, one crazy kid who has broken both top front teeth on different occasions has required repair jobs on both– TWICE (child vs. cement stairs, child vs. sidewalk, etc.) Dr. Liu totally rocks– we thought he was great just for a regular dental visit, but for emergencies and stressed out kids and parents– he’s perfect!!! The staff remains fantastic– we’ve dealt with this time Kat & Carolina.
Side note– office is really nice-​clean, pleasant, easy to find, free parking in back, waiting room is really comfy, TV/DVD’s, kids dental areas are super kid friendly, not cold or uninviting. Again– we’ll NEVER go anywhere else!!!

Dr. liu is the best pedo doctor in town i cant belive how grate he is with kids. I took my little girl for her first dental visit and she cant wait to see him again wow i must say dr. liu it’s been 3 weeks and she still give’s me a tumbs up well thumbs up for you dr. liu and your staff at instyle dental.

This is my 4yr old son’s 1^st dentist visit, and he loves Dr. Liu! He was so friendly and patient, and he detailed explained everything to both the kid & the parents. Somehow, he had a way to train my son how to take care of his teeth and the boy didn’t get bored at all! After we came back home, my son even asked me if he can go back to see his dentist again :)
We are very appreciate Dr. Liu and definitely will go back in 6 month.

Dr Liu spends a lot of time with his patients and tries to convince the kids to floss and brush properly. I think he just finished his pediatric dentistry training so he may not be the most experienced dentist that there is. But our son had a broken tooth that he repaired and he did a good job with that. He seems very knowledgeable and has a great bedside manner.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Liu. I have taken my very young son to see Dr. Liu twice already and both times we have had an excellent experience. First of all, my son is a «crier.» Watching your child writhe around and squeal can be a very uncomfortable experience for both child and parents but Dr. Liu is so unbelievably calm and patient. He is very nonjudgmental in his approach. He has a really neat process that engages the children prior to the actual exam and cleaning and his bedside manner is first rate. I am struck by how Dr. Liu is able to connect with children. He will actually «get down on the ground» with them and speak to them in a way to which they respond. In addition, Parissa at the front desk is an absolute doll. She is also wonderful with children and very charming. The facilities are spotless and modern and the practice is especially well run. We love the Saturday appointments so both my husband and I can come together. We have been very happy with our experiences thus far. Three cheers for Dr. Liu!
