2188 is located inside of Sunny Plaza on Valley Boulevard. Parking can be challenging if you want to park in front of the restaurant or on the same floor. However, there are more parking spaces underground. When we walked by this restaurant, there didn’t see anybody inside. We then debated whether we should walk away or give it a try. After ten minutes of searching for another place we gave up and decided to give this place a try. When we were inside the restaurant we noticed that we were not the only customers. We saw one table being occupied by two dudes and they were tucked away in the corner. No wonder we didn’t see them when we paced back and forth earlier. Whew we’re ok! The inside looked clean; however, the table was sticky and so were the menus. Waitress brought us complimentary herbal duck as pictured and it was hard like a rock. We ordered several dishes: — Supreme crawfish ball($ 21.88) — it was basically a dish of crawfish without heads sitting on top of cucumbers(also onions and chives) –Spicy and sour pig ear & ox tripe($ 11.89) — the meat was very tough –Spicy shrimp($ 23.88) — this dish also was sitting on top of cucumbers and some root vegetable(not sure what it was) Each dish did not give my mouth that wow experience that I was expecting. For the price of each dish I was expecting a little more seafood than what was brought out. In addition, seafood didn’t taste fresh. Hence the name Spicy Shrimp, so expect everything here to be spicy.

The crawfish is a must try !!! The spice and the flavors are awesome! Please keep in mind its really spicy so if you cant handle spice i wouldnt recommend it The pork belly and cucumber slices would be my second favorite here the go well together . We also tried the osmenthus yams which wasnt my flavorite i actually thought it tasted as if i was eatting perfume . The seaseme pepper chicken was good but the sauce over took the chicken

Came with my family to try it out, literally everything is spicy so they’ve got that going for them. The shrimp we ordered wasn’t fresh. The meat was sticking to the shells, it was impossible hard to peel the shell off. It was honestly such a chore to get to the meat I don’t think it was worth it. The ladle they give you for your soup and desert is so tiny it makes my tablespoons look ginormous. Took around 10 ladles to fill my desert bowl. The service was HORRENDOUS. When we arrived there was only 1 table of people eating, and there were 4 – 5 waiters, all of whom were sitting outside socializing and not bothering to service the two tables inside. We had to go to the chef window to ask the chefs to give us water, and they had to walk all the way around to come out and get the waiters to do their fucking jobs. Honestly if you’re here for shrimp and crawfish you might as well go to boiling crab. They have so many more choices and people are actually serving you there.

Price On the Manu is too pricy, when I ready to order they told me need to add extra $ 2 per pond because today’s crawfish is more expensive, what… it’s already $ 33 you asking for $ 2 more! Yea, you really think no one knows how much are these crawfish sells in the supermarket! anyway since we already here just try it once see if it’s worth it, but their food is not fresh at all, because it smells already! on Sunday noon, we are the only table in the restaurant, imaging how fresh could their food be? totally not worth it. Besides spicy It doesn’t really tasty good at all, especially it made me diaries since I left the store, now I’m going to get medicine!!! Don’t go there!

Shitty costumer service, the crawfish wasn’t fresh and already started to smell, so we returned it. As we were leaving, the manager came out with another check saying that since we ordered it we have to pay for it, and we can go ahead and sue them if we’d like.

I honestly was driving to Chinatown Los Angeles for lunch today but for some reason my navigation brought me to San Gabriel lol so I was like what the heck let’s just eat somewhere here. So we drove until we seen this place looks nice from the outside and certainly caught my attention. Had a grand opening sign so I was excited to try it. Walked in and got greeted right away, they sat us down and explained how the menu works so it was easy for us to pick what we wanted. Got the food very quickly and it was delicious! Will be back again!

The food here is ok, but very much overly priced. In addition, the service is really bad, even when we were the only party in the restaurant. We have five people, and only one of us get the bone dish changed, and I had to refill my ice water myself. Not recommended at all.

This place is not worth it. The food is so expensive and the portions are so small. The shrimp bowl was $ 20+ and had around 10 – 15 shrimps in it. The rest of the bowl was filled with potatoes and chili. The chicken was $ 10+ and they were so thinly sliced. The noodles were around $ 6 – 7 and and it was the same size as a bowl of rice. The food was decent. Would not come back again. Our family had to stop by another restaurant and get takeout because we weren’t even closed to being filled.

I m surprised by other reviews!!! This restaurant is definitely a 1 star place, I would rate a 0 if Unilocal has it. We had the boiling spicy crawfish(油闷大虾-x)they claimed that all their crawfish is alive and fresh, and they intended to put alive crawfish in front of restrooms to make customers think their crawfish are fresh, however, their crawfish is definitely FROZENCRAWFISH !!! You know, like those you can buy $ 8 for 2 pounds in the frozen section. Their menu is very pricy !! Those crawfish is less than two pounds, and they cost you $ 33 +tax + tips !! Much more expensive than Boiling crab !

This is wulan style dry pot. They just open vert recently. Their menu is all chinese but staff does speak english. I haven’t eat any dry pot before except dou pot which isn’t true dry pot. This is first time I try supposed to legit try pot, I had to said is pretty good. The portion was quite small for what it is. However the 50% off discount is hard to complain. The best dish we try was easily the spicy shrimp pot. Any pot in general is good, their non pot is not good. The place is small and there’s a lot room for improvement.

50% off for your meal during the soft opening!!! I would say the food here is pretty flavorful, but not as spicy as I expected. The service is good. I would make sure to get the spicy shrimp! Make sure to get some rice to accompany your food too!

Ambiance: spacious restaurant with high ceiling, bright lighting decoration Service: friendly and fast, provided useful suggestions, few items were sold out though it’s only lunch time. servers were very humble and would like to listen the opinions Food: in general good Shrimp Dry Pot — *** spicy and flavorful, with side orders of ham, bamboo, yam and enoki Fried Glutinous Rice Cake — ** tasted so so Slices of Beef Tongue, Beef Shank, Pork Ear — **** very tasty with chili sauce, recommend Price: it’s worth trying during their promotions. The place is very new, recommend to try.

Tried it with their soft opening specials today. Not bad at all. We had the pork ear as appetizers, it came with garlic sauce with a bit of spicy. We also had the noodles and the spicy crab. They used fresh crabs, medium spicy is pretty ok for us!
