New Leash On Life Dog Training

I rescued my 1yr old husky mix approx. 4 months ago… within 2 wks I regretted it and wanted to return him… he was a little terror. I fell so much in love with him I couldn’t bare to do it. So I went online and looked for a trainer I found New Leash On Life. I read Christina’s bio and I knew she was the one to help me. Within days of training I noticed a huge difference in him. Christina is so good and patient with him. She makes every training session enjoyable and not a chore. We like her so much we extended his training. At times I have a busy schedule and she is always willing to accomidate. I would recommend anyone’ s furbaby to Christina. She is the absolute best. Thank you so much and Wampa thanks you more.

Almost a year ago, we added a puppy to our family of pooches, and he was a handful; in addition to his puppy wildness, he was also picking up really bad habits from our older dog (barking incessantly, jumping all over people, losing it when visitors arrived), which seemed manageable when it was just her, but started getting out of control when it was two of them. So we decided to look around and hire a trainer. That’s when we found Cristina!
My husband and I have pretty crazy schedules, and Cristina is no different — we found out she is a one-​woman business, and she’s just as busy as we are — but she was VERY accommodating to our schedule, and came over after dinner one night (it was the only time we had to get the ball rolling). We really appreciated that.
Cristina came over for a consultation and to meet our dogs — she didn’t pressure us into buying a package, she just told us how it was and what our dogs needed to work on based on what she was seeing/​hearing. Honestly, we needed to be trained just as much as the dogs — it’s sometimes really hard to put your foot down and be the boss with our pets, and we were experiencing that in some big ways.
We bought a private training package — at first, I was skeptical and thought, «there’s no way this is worth the money,» but on day one, Cristina proved me wrong!
She had my dogs paying attention and leaving dropped food/​treats alone in the first 10 minutes of working with them! It was like watching the dogs transform. She made sure we did our homework as puppy parents to keep the lessons going, and was even kind enough to invite us to her group class a couple of times so they could socialize and work on other skills they weren’t working on at home.
After just 8 sessions, our dogs aren’t perfect by any means, but there are some VAST improvements. She taught them to «park it» on the rug in front of the door when people come over, which means I don’t have to be scared of my older dog darting out the front door and running off, and I don’t have to worry about my dogs overwhelming visitors when they arrive. They are also much better around the house, and listen to us much more than they did before. We finally feel like we have control over our dogs, as opposed to the other way around (even though they get their way now and again, we’ve curbed giving in to them and make sure to keep practicing everything Cristina taught us).
Now, we have Cristina come around to walk them when we can’t, and she loves our dogs just as much as we do. She even takes selfies with them! They absolutely love her, and we are so grateful to have found her and her great skills with our dogs. On top of that, her group classes are a great way to try out her services without a large money commitment, but I promise you if your dog needs help, you’ll be amazed at what she can accomplish.
My only regret is not being able to give more stars to this review, and also not being able to afford to have her over every day to have fun with our dogs. She is a hidden gem in this area for dog training, but the secret is getting out!

Everyone has their skills. Some people can sing, other people can build things, some people are good with numbers, etc. New Leash on Life Dog Training has definitely perfected their skill of dog training and family interaction.
My dog Jax, who I’ve had since he was 8 weeks old and is now 10, has always been very smart. However, being that I was never allowed to have a dog growing up, I spoiled him to death. I took him to some random dog training group session at a park where I used to live by and $ 100 later, nothing. I was always inviting people over to hang out and he would get excited and pee on my friends shoes (super funny in the beginning but it started to annoy people after a while). I knew I had to start training him. After a while I was able to teach him how to sit, stay, and use the bathroom outside. Everything was going good for years until he started acting out on his walks. He used to be very good with other dogs but all of a sudden he just started nipping and being overly aggressive. I knew I had to do something.
By this time he was nine and I was under the impression it was a lost cause due to his age. Oh how I was wrong! My friend told me about a trainer from Centinela Pet Supplies who had trained his pitbull and he was very impressed. I had nothing to lose so I signed up and let me tell you, best decision ever!
Cristina, the head trainer, is amazing! The way she carrys herself with all dogs, regardless of breed or age, is something I have never seen before from anyone. I told her my story and that my main concern was the socializing part of Jax’s life. A few weeks in, without hesitation, she took Jax and used him as a demonstration for the social training session. I have to admit that I was pretty nervous as she did the «dog handshake”(face to butt introduction) with all of the dogs. And to my surprise, he did very well. She explained to me that I had to be more relaxed and not nervous when approached by other dogs. She went on to describe how dogs are highly sensitive to emotions from their owners and feed off of it. So my nervous attitude caused Jax to be the same and lash out. Ever since then, it’s been nothing but positive vibes.
It’s been a year later and I still use all of the tools learned from New Leash on Life DT. I’m even able to take Jax to dog parks and beaches, which he loves, and that’s the best feeling in the world. If anyone is under the impression that you’re dog is too old to learn, you’re wrong. My experience is proof that any dog can be taught as long as you believe in them, and as long as you have Cristina of New Leash on Life Dog Training leading the way!

1 word to describe Christina… AMAZING! She is an awesome trainer! We are lucky to have found Christina to train our Chocolate Lab Puppy Jax. Hiring Christina for private training was the best decision we made for Jax! Since this was our first family pet, we really weren’t sure what to expect. From teaching Jax his basic commands, to helping us establish a daily routine, to guiding us to walk him without him wanting to explore everything, she was patient with Jax as well as with us to ensure we were very comfortable with him once she completed her training. Christina also has group training classes and we decided to take Jax and we were glad we did. This gave him a chance to be around other dogs and he was able to still practice his commands without being distracted. Didn’t think there was anything else she would be able to train him on, but I was wrong! We learned so many new things from Christina! Other than her being an awesome trainer, she is a down to earth girl. Very easy to get along with and my wife and I can say we have made a new friend :)

I took my small terrier puppy to her group class. The group classes are great for socialization and Cristina is one of the best dog trainers I know! She is great at providing alternative training methods when traditional methods don’t work based on your dog’s individual needs. She is the only trainer I trust with my dog.

Cristina is an excellent trainer! We rescued our dog, Jake, when he was almost a year old. He had very little training, if any, and Cristina did a fantastic job with getting him on track with basic commands and manners! Most importantly, she taught us an emergency recall technique that WORKS!!! I doubted I would need it, as Jake had never strayed far from me… But, one day he did! He was walking away from me, on the sidewalk next to a busy street… He would NOT come! I remembered the JACKPOT maneuver … And, he came bombing right back to me! I highly recommend Cristina! Her techniques will result in a well behaved, enjoyable dog, and may even save your dog’s life! Thank you Cristina!

We initially bought a package to have our Boxer girl Fiona trained and Cristina did a great job with her through positive reinforcement. So much so Fiona learned the basic commands quickly. Then due to scheduling conflicts we weren’t able to complete all of the lessons and time passed. In that time we got our Boxer boy Freddie and he needed lessons. Cristina was great and very flexible to where the lessons we had left over she allowed us to use with Freddie and once again she did a great job with him.
Cristina, again, was super nice and allowed us to convert the remainder of the lessons for weekly walks for Freddie and Fiona… and they love her and the walks.
I highly recommend Cristina for all your training needs and walks. It goes without saying she is super nice and very flexible. You will have well trained dogs which is the best thing we can ask for.

Christina was a god-​send! Our 3-​year-​old chihuahua had a major Napoleon complex and wouldn’t listen to us. When we introduced a new dog to our home, we were constantly breaking up fights. After we hired Christina, she gave us really good tips and helped us train our chihuahua so that he would finally follow commands! I now know that owner training is just as important as dog training. Christina was so patient with us and really tried to work around our schedule. I tried to hire another trainer for my other dog, but that person’s prices were astronomical. Christina’s prices are fair, and if we need more advanced training, I would definitely call her again.

Puppy training with Christina (Owner) of New leash on life was awesome!!! Wonderful puppy handler/​trainer! November ’14, we bought a 4.5 month old Yorkie who wasn’t housebroken or well-​mannered, but so cute!
We had to leave town and Cristina offered to keep her and train her while we were gone – for a month! It cost a lot but well worth it!
We came back to a bouncy puppy who stays quietly in a crate when we have to leave the house, who responds to sit, down, wait, leave it, and drop it. Our pup is getting better on going outdoors to pee and poo.
Cristina now comes to our house to help us «mold a well-​mannered dog», instead of our former «Yorkshire terrorist». She is prompt, calm, effective in handling the bouncy puppy, and in teaching my husband and me how to manage her.
And when our pup was boarded at Cristina’s, she made friends with a boxer, two golden retrievers and a rabbit. Good social skills, since our grown kids have big dogs and not-​too-​predictable grand children.
I recommend Cristina for her experience, schooling, way with animals (treats, not punishments), and her plans to build a business in training and boarding.
And it was sheer luck that we found Cristina! One of her clients was walking her bulldog pup down the street, and when I asked, told me Cristina teaches at one’s home.
You’ll have a well-​behaved dog with Cristina. I have!

I just got a corgi puppy and I was having trouble potty training him. Cristina definitely gave me good advice as to what to do to train him. Dog training is a lot of work and takes a lot of time (but it’s worth it), and Cristina tells/​shows you what you need to do to get the results you want, but it’s all about the work outside of the training session as well. I followed what she said and now my puppy is potty trained!

We just finished a 6 week Beginner Group Training class with our 7 month old rescue puppy. Cristina is amazing! She is kind, patient, knowledgeable and has a genuine love for animals. Our puppy learned many commands and overall is much more at ease in new places and around other dogs. Thank you Cristina. We will be signing up again in January.

Tonight, we had a private in-​home training session with Cristina. She’s knowledgable and worked so well with teaching my children how to be with our new adopted pup. Will continue using her. Hands down, amazing trainer! Centinela Feed has yet to let me down!:)

Cristina has been a great help to our rescue Daisy. She came into a home with two other boston’s and a kitty and she is doing really well. She has made our lives much better but she has had her adjustment issues. A new leash on life is a big help

My family rescued a puppy about a year ago, and we needed help with training. We knew that we wanted Daphne to feel part of the family, but we also wanted her to know we were in charge. We contacted Christina and she has helped us immensely. In four short sessions Daphne learned a plethora of commands, and still abides by the rules to this day. Christina helped us understand how dogs behave to explain Daphne’s puppy behaviors. Recently, we rescued another puppy that we found on the street (Douglas). He was beat up pretty bad and was temperamental with Daphne. We called Christina immediately, and she came to the rescue once again. Both dogs have integrated into family life relatively easily thanks to her. I would recommend Christina to anyone!

Several months ago, I adopted 2 dogs, a terrier from BP shelter and a GSD mix from a GSD rescue. Neither had any formal training and I begin the search for a trainer. Cristina was recommended to me by a friend who’s husky is trained by her. We’ve been working with Cristina for several months and I definitely notice the difference in both of my dog’s behaviors. I was amazed after the first session and how my dogs gravitated to her. What I appreciated the most is Cristina uses treat based/​positive reinforcement techniques, in speaking to other trainers about my GSD I was told to get a choke chain, shock collar and someone even told me to get him tranquilizers to calm him. She has helped teach me how to better control my dogs in a positive manner. She has also helped teach my fiancé how to work with our dogs and he has no prior dog experience. We have been using Christina for over a year to help socialize our 2 rescues and from the very first moment we met her we knew she was the perfect trainer for us … and our four-​legged girls LOVE HER. Both of our rescues were very hyper and didn’t have any social skills, and Christina was amazing at behavior training. She was also great at explaining to us how dogs think and what we could do to strengthen our relationship with them. We have referred her to a few friends and sing her praises to anyone that will listen. I would recommend her to any family that wants a stronger relationship with their dogs.

Christina the trainer has been working with our two dogs for a year — Olivia (lab mix) and Pepper (pocket pit). She loves them as much as they love her. Her expertise has helped both of our dogs with their «bad habits» and improved their socialization skills. ;) I highly recommend her.
