Zoe’s

I forgot how much I love a good burger until I had the one at Zoe’s. Their burgers are juicy and topped with the right balance of onions, tomatoes, pickles and toppings of your choice ranging from cheese, mushrooms, bacon etc. they give you the option to have it paired with a salad or fries. While I have a hard time turning down fries, I really enjoyed the salad and recommend you go green :). This place is pretty crowded so be prepared to get cozy with friends and strangers. Service can be slow but the staff are extremely friendly especially in light of how busy it can get.

Friend and I both ordered whiskey drinks which were good.
However, the food was mediocre and heavy. I ordered the poutine which was salty and over sauced.

Great food and cocktails here. I’m obsessed with the mussels. This is one of the few places in SF that can do them right. Very friendly staff as well :)

Love this place basically. If your feeling a tad heath conscious then the burger is amongst the best in the city :)

This review is solely on their customer service and drinks. A group of friends and I checked this spot out this past weekend, we were a group of six and all we really came for were the drinks.
1. I don’t understand why there was only one server on a Friday night. There were two bartenders but that was no help. I arrived a little early before my friends and it took about 15 minutes to get served. And when I tasted my drink it was watered down– yum, watered down margarita. My friend ordered the Jezebel and she said it was also watered down.
2. The one server that was working the floor had no customer service at all (older white lady). Every time we would try to put in an order she looked ticked off we were even asking her. And when she would bring our order to the table– she didn’t say a word. Like come on?!? We were so polite and respectful. «Please» and «thank you’s» all night because we knew she was the only server. But she couldn’t even crack us a smile.
3. After a couple rounds, we decide it’s time to head to the next bar. We get our check, pay for it, say THANK YOU, and head out. And as we are standing outside she comes outside and says «That’s it? That’s all you’re tipping me? Don’t order so much if you don’t know how to tip?» We were in awe– literally. Shocked and frustrated all at the same time. I have never come across anyone in the service industry who has ever done that. She claimed that the business we gave Zoe’s doesn’t go to her, she only works off tips, etc. Is that our problem? She had the worst customer service and she expected 20% or what? We gave her 10% she’s lucky we even tipped her. Tip is optional BTW.
I’m personally messaging the business as well, it’s ridiculous that they have someone working here that has that type of customer service demeanor. Zoe’s has lost my business and my friends as well. It was a cool spot with a nice ambiance. They just need to hire new servers.

This is a really nice sports bar that resides in Mission, but I’m not sure I’ll recommend this place to anyone anytime soon.
Despite feeling like we weren’t the youngest table in the establishment, the server treated us like we were. She asked us what drinks we’ll be having, but ignores me when I say I want water. Actually, scratch that — she said «I asked if anyone would like drinks, not water. «Sorry, I didn’t know I couldn’t request water.
The food we ordered, which ranged from salads to burgers to wings to raw clams, took forever to arrive. We had to ask twice if we could get a status update on our food, and the plates that took forever to arrive was the plate of raw clams, and the salad.
They apparently messed up the clams, and gave my friend another dish of cooked clams which was on the house, but how do you mess up an order of raw clams? How does it arrive last next to the salad?
How did my bleu cheese dressing with my wings look like skim milk with extra water?
Why was their poutine fries soaked in suspicious looking poutine.
Would I come here again? Probably, but I will be more mindful of their sub-​par food and their weird service.

Great drinks, great food, great to watch the games and excellent staff. 5stars for the Mac and cheese, probably the best in the city!

Loved this place since they opened. They’ve gone through a lot of changes with the décor, menu and staff. Unfortunately most changes have been for the worst. Each time they have an awesome item on the menu, it’s gone in a month.
Cocktails are still on point. Definitely do the Gold Rush.
Kind of annoying staff sometimes, though, and the food keeps getting weirder and weirder + more generic.

The mac n cheese from Zoe’s will shoot positive vibes directly into your soul, it is that good!

This was one of the better dinner experiences we’ve had in quite a while, for sure.
We found Zoe’s thanks to a desire to try poutine and searching the webs for «best poutine in SF» (shoutout to Bold Italic for suggesting Zoe’s). The whole experience there was exceptional. It really feels more like a bar than a restaurant, though it looks like roughly half the seating is tables. There are tv’s all over, half playing sports, but it’s still a cozy space — not cramped, but legitimately cozy. Music was «my type» — Nirvana, Smiths, Cure. Loved it.
Even the menu was almost entirely bar-​type food (fries and that sort), but in a foodier way (yucca fries, for example. And poutine.) But there was also some awesome pesto pasta (incidentally, gluten– and nut-​free, not that that was a draw for me), and burgers. You can have a real-​deal meal there for sure. I had poutine and pasta, with chicken on top. My partner had poutine and the phenomenal baked mac and cheese with bacon (phenomenal. Remember Blue on Market St that was know for its baked mac? Their mac was CRAP compared to this!)
Interesting cocktail menu, good draughts, prices right where you’d expect. What stood out above all else, though, was the service. That curly-​haired Irish woman was so awesome that we actually left a 30%+ tip. She was attentive and covering the whole establishment, and offered to adjust music if it’s too loud for us (speaker over our table), close the door if we get cold, etc. Genuinely out to make her customers comfortable.
It was my first poutine experience, and I don’t know that I would do it again. I’m not a huge mushroom fan and I don’t think I realized ahead of time that the brown gravy was gonna be mushroom-​based. All reviews say Zoe’s is the best, and I’ll take that for truth. I did actually eat it all despite my mushroom aversion, so that speaks to its flavor. All of the food we had was so amazing. Gotta go back to try more of the menu.

The service is great! Our waitress was so nice! There are a few options for dinner, but they are enough to make everyone happy.
Loved the ginger + lemon something I ordered. Not too sweet, not too strong, just perfect.

Amazingly chill spot to watch the game or several games and hang out. Great location, plenty of foot traffic and random folks to make your night interesting!

Their cocktails are delicious, make sure you try the Jezebel cocktail. Food here is great too. The perfect bar munchies. Mac n Cheese with bacon hit the spot and the wings with blue cheese dressing are good as well. My fiancé had the burger and fries and really enjoyed every last bite.

Great atmosphere with great drinks. Good place to come catch the games in the evening with friends, and come to brunch in the mornings. Love it

I was expecting a lot more from a restaurant with an average of four stars (at least at the time of writing this review).
I came here today with some friends, some of whom just ordered drinks and others of whom ordered a meal for dinner. Two others got the chicken sandwich, while I got the burger and fries.
I asked for it to be done medium, but it was way overcooked (to the point of being well-​done). Any flavor that was once in the burger was cooked out of it. For a $ 12 burger, I expect way more than the mediocre small portion of meat that I was served.
My friends also complained that the bread for the chicken sandwich was very salty.
The server was friendly, though. Shame the food was so underwhelming.

Came here the other night and they kindly let us order even though it was technically 10:05 or so when we arrived.
Got the Poutine (thick goopy gravy with thick fries and an egg… fantastic) and the honey whisky wings (tasted «light» and not too sweet — I thought it was spectacular). I had considered getting the leg of lamb but the waitress suggested the burger. She was absolutely right. I got it with a fried egg that was cooked PERFECTLY (as soon as you bite in the yolk oozes out) and it was one of the juiciest burgers I’ve had in a while. I inhaled it and proceeded to have a stomachache/​food coma for the rest of the night (totally werth). Only weak part was that I wasn’t a huge fan of the fries — very thick and on the soft side — I prefer a bit more of a crunch. Tasted good as poutine; just wasn’t as good on its own.
Staff is friendly and very personable. They’ll chat with you about your day and actually genuinely seem to care!
Songs being played are 80s-​ish stuff. I think. Not exactly my thing but still enjoyable.

Still not wow-​ed by this place.
I came for a friend’s birthday party and the server was great (so I don’t want to discount that), but I ordered 5 of the same (apparently not terribly strong, lest you think I’m a lush) drink– trouble and strife– and the first two times I received way less (about half) of a drink than the last three.
I would have switched to another drink but there wasn’t really any complementary option to this lemony-​gin drink (without going off-​menu, which is hard to do without talking directly to the bartender) and the menus disappeared after the kitchen closed.
Granted, it’s nice that they got more generous on drink #3−5, but I kinda wish it’d been a stronger drink in the first place, and consistently poured for the $ 11 price. I guess the bright side is, no hangover the next day!

I know this is a bar/​food place. but damn! I was eager to leave a review because the music at this place is so ON POINT! (Stevie Nicks/​Fleetwood Mac, Heart, Don Henley, just all the good stuff)

Ordered off their cocktail menu and it was great. Not overly sugery — good amount of gin. Bartenders are super friendly as well.
Food looked good — unfortunately came in right when they were closing the kitchen.
Seating is comfortable, not crowded and rowdy. You can actually have a good conversation with whoever you are with. Thumbs up!

Some nights are purely for unwinding, and here was no exception. So, we sat at the bar, observant and très curieux for what their selections might be. I found something that night that resembled a favorite cocktail of mine from elsewhere in The City («The Godfather»), here called «The Pugilist.» Primarily, this was an almond flavored cocktail with Jameson, which resembles the Godfather flavoring via its amaretto. Okay, I was hooked.
Also got «The Gold Rush» next, while my other half first ordered a «Vermont Mule,» then a Sazerac with Four Roses. The friendly bartenders were jokesters and kept us laughing. You’re bound to crack a smile.
We’d been to Zoë’s at least once before, when some sort of community art session (painting???) was occurring at the dining tables. It’s not a huge space inside here, but they make good use of it. Come here enough, and I’m sure everybody will know your name.

I overate.
Zoe’s doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the food and cocktails were pretty good. The atmosphere is very casual. You order and pay at the bar here, but food and drink orders will be brought to your table if you are sitting at one.
* Mushroom poutine — $ 8
More accurately referred to as mushroom gravy fries. There were no cheese curds at all. Instead, there was a glob of goat cheese cream (or something that tasted like it) that I didn’t like. The gravy was very tasty and full of mushroom flavor though. I was expecting a small plate, but the platter of poutine was the size of a full meal.
* Baked mac + cheese with Mornay sauce — $ 6
Delicious. Best eaten while very hot, of course.
My friends got burgers and said they were okay.

ooOoo yummmmmm I was a huge fan of the mushroom poutine! It’s completely vegetarian btw. I called ahead to make sure since we originally were going to have a vegetarian in our group. The mushroom gravy is nutty, earthy and delicious while the ‘shrooms were meaty. I didn’t miss meat at all.
Cocktails? YUM. Loved the Vermont Mule and Big Weekend.
service was great, our waitress was a sweetheart. Def coming back for poutine.
