I came here for vacation during winter break. I didn’t expect to find a Chinese restaurant in the Mission district. The food was good, and the prices weren’t too bad. The best thing is the roast duck. It was so dark, I thought it was burnt. They assured me it wasn’t. It was AWESOME! The skin was extra crispy. Simply beautiful.

This place is disappointing. The service was all over the place. First of all the lady told me I need to wait until 11am until they put in my order. I was confuse why they can’t put in my order. waited until 11am and put in for my order. while waiting I witness such chaos in this place. There was a guy and a woman behind the counter and they were calling each other stupid in Chinese. When my order was ready one of the waiter almost gave away my order. He stuffed it inside someone else order.

It was not that disappointing before! I just order the combination rice with bbq pork and steamed chicken around 9pm which is 30mins before they close. When I ordered that, the lady who’s the owner I am so sure took a look the box which hides little bit secretly down the table for those separated piece, cuz they are not good enough. And she said yes we still had chicken. After I got home, I just took a look the chicken she gave to me, it looked like just the bones without meat ATALL!!! Come one, I always come to ur restaurant and now u treat me like this?! It’s ok you can just tell me no more chicken rather than just made that crap to me with a so fake smile and say thank you! Cuz u totally make urself lose a customer just now. My only advice is don’t order any bbq or steamed chicken at night, cuz you not gonna get any good piece, unless u don’t mind wasting ur money !!!

This place has gone down in quality imo and the price gone up. Took my mom here mothers day we had 5 people called reserved and still they held our table but we had to wait another half an hour to get chairs what? Should’ve had it ready for us that’s the purpose of rsvp. Table was not set either they just had a sign on the table. So even if you reserve expect that there might be still a wait. The food tasted mediocre today. Soup was good still. Totally hated how much the greens and duck was so drenched in oil today too. I mean it wasn’t even your regular Chinese restaurant oil it was excessive!!! So gross. I jokingly said it’s more sparkly than diamonds. Seriously! Wish they were clear about all the costs for the dishes we ordered bc Srsly the crab was not worth $ 37 – 38 bucks. It tasted NOT fresh either that or it was the way it was cooked. Usually when you order the set dinner they didn’t charge for rice last time but this time it was per person charge. That’s ok tho but just be aware of it so no surprises for the bill. They were really busy so I give them the benefit of the doubt that’s why 3 stars. Otherwise, it should have really been 2 stars today. I was really disappointed. Overall cost & quality I wouldn’t pay $ 140+ for 5 people. That’s how much it cost. Another funny thing the boss gave me the check. I guess ladies usually take the bills on mothers day when there’s like 3 dudes sitting on our table. wth? Might come back when it’s not so busy to try again IF&ONLYIF my family stops by bc I got so turned off today I wouldn’t be back on my own at all… Nope

Got invited to dinner by a client who lives nearby. Starting to notice each of the 4 times we’ve come by the portions have shrunk in size from their set family dinners. Place was packed during the period of lunar festivities. The portions as a 1st impression can set the mood for the rest of the meal. A serving of a previous 8 oysters is now 6. The guests seem reluctant to chow down b/c the portions weren’t there & fear of insulting the host if a suggestion was made. No one left hungry but that grand opening honeymoon moment may be over. Watched the lunar parade on TV during the dinner. We’ll probably end up here again out of convenience for the host & maybe just a rough night. Its worth giving another shot.

New place… Finally remembered to drop in. I came in around 7:30 p.m., so they didn’t have much selection on BBQ. They were out of every style of chicken. Nonetheless, I was there for the pork. I did take out of BBQ pork and roast pork. $ 6.99/lb for both meats.(Other meats vary on pricing). I paid $ 10.40. The BBQ pork had a decent flavor(savory and not overly sweet) and not too grisly. The roast pork had good flavor and had a good balance of crispy skin, a layer of fat and lean meat.(Watch out for bone fragments.) Service = Curt. Semi-friendly. They speak limited English, so if you’ve got Chinese speaking skills, use ‘em.(I struggle.) Seating = small. Prices = reasonable. I’ll need to come back and try their entrees. There seemed to be plenty of take out business and some dining in.

I got to this place a couple times a week. They cook very traditionally and authentically. Their food is cheap, fresh, and clean. The waitresses are very friendly and I really like the family atmosphere.

I have a sensitive stomach and the fact is I didn’t get sick after eating it twice makes this place worth a try again. Ordered for delivery Veggie Chow mein is a little bland, had to add soy sauce Sweet & Sour Fish pretty good Roast duck, this is the place for it. They close too early on Friday & Saturday nights.

Pretty good for an average neighborhood Chinese food place. We had the Lobster yi-mein — $ 16.99. Great price! I was expecting $ 30 or something. Had some large pea sprouts — a little greasy, but nothing extraordinary. Fried salt and pepper pork chops — pretty good — crispy outside, well seasoned. Fukien fried rice. Buddy and friend both enjoyed it. The wife said there was something she didn’t like about it. The seafood tofu clay pot — very flavorful, great tasting. All in all, this will definitely be my go-to Chinese food spot since I live close by and the food is really not bad at all.

I think babies are adorable. Babies with chub chubs? Loves. That’s until my friend, Susy C. posted on FB the importance of birth control: . Nope. No babies until I’m 40… maybe 50. Shoot, I’ll probably be that lady with the tennis ball walker with a 5 year old in tote. I’ll get to my point in a minute… So over the weekend, we stopped by the newly opened Ying Hui(previously Wally’s) to grab some Chinese deli meats to-go for dinner. Considering they’re just a month young, I found the place to be pretty dingy with foggy glass doors and ratchety carpets which adds to the«authenticity». Chinese BBQ Deli Menu: . CASHONLY. We ordered half a Roast Duck($ 7.50) and half a Wong Mo Gai: Free Range, Yellow Feather Chicken($ 7). The Roast Duck was excellent and rivals the ones found in the Sunset and Richmond: . Perfectly roasted and rendered, the glistening skin was crisp and the meat was tender. I like that it wasn’t too fatty but had a nice ratio of thin fat: lean meat. I usually avoid eating roast duck because of all the msg but didn’t have any issues with 2 small pieces(not too salty). The Wong Mo Gai(Free Range Yellow Feather Chicken) was just as excellent. It was a bit pale compared to other yellow feather chicken I’ve had but it was über tender, moist, and flavorful. They only give you a tablespoon of ginger scallion sauce for half a chicken though. Stingy. Service was typical Chinese service. The owner lady seemed nice but other staff were pretty rude and unhelpful. We stood in front of the counter waiting to order(no other customers) while a male staff just stood there staring back at us for 3 – 4 minutes. I already know what I’m getting myself into re: service when I go to a Chinese restaurant so lack of service has zero bearing on my rating. This would have been a 4 star review except… While we were waiting for them to pack our order, I noticed the cutest chubbiest blue nose pitbull puppy sitting in the dining room floor. She had an abnormally large protruding belly. The young owner had finished eating and was walking the puppy out when she decided to bless the carpet before leaving with a golden shower. Not so cute anymore. The staff at Ying Hui did absolutely NOTHING. No clean-up. Nothing. They turned a blind eye as if it never happened. Clearly, it’s a health violation to allow non-service dogs in a restaurant but then to not clean up the puppy’s mess(it should be the owner’s responsibility but as a restaurant owner, the responsibility then falls on you)…can you imagine what goes on behind closed doors? I CAN. My «vivid» imagination doesn’t put it pass the staff to accidentally drop food on the same spot on the carpet that the puppy’s tush was on and then putting it back on the platter. I’m no vet but a puppy with an unusually large tummy is usually a sign of worms. And a puppy that young(6 weeks?) has not finished their vaccinations yet. I don’t care how good Ying Hui’s food is… their disgusting health violations make my butt cheeks cringe. Would you like a side of worms with your roast duck, sir?
