$ 5 for a watch battery replacement seemed like a good deal, until I had to go back and ask them to fix my watch which they broke. «No watch repair.» Lesson learned! Also I should have known better when the woman took my watch in the back room where they fixed/broke my watch. Next time I need a battery replacement for my watch, I’ll request to physically see them replace the battery. Awful customer service!

My parents and I have been going here since I was little. For the most part, it’s an «Asian» jewelry store meaning that it’s mostly selling 18k and 24k stuff with some white gold too. Not much 14k stuff but if you’re chinese or vietnamese, you pretty much consider anything less than 18k crap(at least your parents do). No «designer» named jewelry but they do carry CITIZEN watches. Lots of variety and custom jewelry that can be made or ordered to your budget and wayyy cheaper than chinatown. Trust me, I checked! If you wanna get ripped off, go to chinatown but feel free to verify on your own. Anyways, onto the review. I usually stop by to change the battery on my watch($ 5) but this time I needed to get a white gold crucifix for my god daughter’s christening and stopped by to take a look. The sales lady helped me find something I looked great in white gold. I spent around $ 220 which was not bad given that gold is crazy expensive right now. The sales lady was really nice, asked how my folks were doing and offered to give me a free plant that they were selling in the window. I suck at keeping plants alive so I declined but so offered to clean my wedding ring for me. The ring came back and I can’t remember the last time I had it that shiny. Again, she was really nice but I kept forgetting to ask her name. Anyways, this place is worth a peek if you happen to be in the neighborhood having thai or vietnamese for lunch. Parking’s not too bad but you probably had to circle around the block a bit for meters. One last thing. they don’t except credit cards so I had to walk a few blocks away to a BOA atm. Fortunately for me it turned out to be a blessing though since I didn’t have any cash on me and I was meeting up a friend at Turtle Tower for phở and they don’t take credit cards either. Bring cash people!

When it comes to deals, Yann Phuy Jewelry is definitely one of the better jewelry stores I have been to. Their materials are of higher quality than most jewelry stores, predominately 18K and 24K, while still having an better price. Oh, one thing i don’t like is that they only accept cash because i don’t like to carry too much cash. anyhow, thanks for the business.

On my last two visits, the owner cheated me. She made a quote on the gold per gram, then raised it higher. When I questioned her about it, she said, oh, he made a mistake and gave me the difference. Last week she did the same thing again. After going to them for over 15 years, this should not happen. I know the economy sucks but you don’t cheat old clients. Totally in the last 15 years, I spent over $ 50K there, and only recently did her cheating become blatantly disappointing. Why couldn’t the $ 33 difference be in my favor … cause they cheat. I will not return and she saw that look on my face as I left the premises. There are other places, over 300 gold shops posing as jewelry stores, in San Francisco, their business would not be missed.

These guys were pretty cool. Although they were a little wary of me, which is a hundred percent understandable, they run a jewelery store in the Tenderloin, they were able to fix my watch quick and charged me only 5 bucks. Definitely recommended if you need some quick work done on a watch or something like that.
