Wow. I really wanted to love Wheelz! I was going to use the service to get a car for the weekend for an a cappella tour, but cancelled. Everybody was courteous and really was nice about it.
But here’s where it bites: I went to purchase the flyers I had ordered for the group’s winter show, when I discover the card is declined. I check my email and see that Wheelz billed me for the reservation I CANCELLED. I called wheelz to ask what happened and they said it was nothing I could have done; it was an error in the system they’ve been struggling with — but I just lost over $ 250 that I needed literally right then with the promise it’ll be back in my account in a few days. I had even received two forms of confirmation in writing that my reservation had been canceled, plus I confirmed it with the owner of the car! Wtf??? if only I had the patience to pursue legal action! I couldn’t be more mad about this! I really trusted them based off of my friend’s constant plugs for them (he works there)… I would love to give a higher rating, but I am NEVER going to use their service nor will I ever recommend them. They really screwed me over.
Unless you’re listing your own car for money, just use zip car or enterprise. I know for a fact that I turned in my enterprise rental (which they upgraded for me for free) a day late and they didn’t charge me for it, plus they waived the under-​25 fee!
