Excellent cup of coffee Great atmosphere Came in here to take the edge off and was definitely not let down. Reasonably priced

Love this place. Great coffee(currently Stumptown). Their breakfast burrito is pretty legit, but everything there is good. They have a wider menu on the weekends. We usually go for breakfast/lunch/brunch or coffee, but occasionally will get a beer in the afternoon. Apparently they have pizza and live entertainment some evenings, but I haven’t been, so this review is limited to breakfast/brunch/lunch.

Friendly staff, the inside is pretty small but not the most inviting atmosphere to hang out in. Basic café menu.

Love this place and come in for breakfast regularly. The to-go cups leak like a faucet though(between the cover and the crease in the cup)… My car and pants gets covered in coffee on the reg. Figure it out please.

**** COFFEE ***** **** HUEVOSRANCHEROS **** This is how I would sum up the(many) times I’ve had brunch at Velo Rouge. It’s one of my favorite brunch and breakfast spot in San Francisco. Here’s why: — I just love the vibe. I can’t get enough of it. The inside is super super cute, it had wooden furniture, a bunch of cute blackboards up on the walls, and the outdoor sitting, though really small, is perfectly sun-oriented — provided the sun is out. — Their food is heaven. Literally. You just have to try their Huevos Rancheros, they’re the best I’ve ever had I’m not gonna lie. Plus their coffee is pretty solid, only downside being it’s not refillable… — I would say the prices are quite decent, and the service is good. I’ll see you soon Velo Rouge!!!

This place has been on my list for a long time but the lines get so long around brunch time on Saturdays. I decided to wake up early on a Saturday(got there at 9am) and although the place was pretty full I was able to order quickly and find a seat. The breakfast burrito is the best I’ve had in the city — DELICIOUS! It’s vegetarian(unless you add meat) which is +1 in my book since I’m a veg. It’s big, very flavorful, perfect amount & combination of ingredients. Definitely worth a stop! Coffee was great as well.

Why? = my boyfriend and I were looking for a place to grab breakfast after we returned from buying furniture at 7:30am on Labor Day. You know how you want a breakfast sandwich or burrito that’s quick and decently priced, this is the spot. People/Vibe = chill/cool, the type of greeting you need on a weekend morning, outdoor seating(a place to put your bike after a long ride!), music — similar to acoustic afternoon(great place to do work for a few hrs) Food = Great+, Simple, Light Try = McCallister(no cheese), Mt. Ventoux(no cheese)

Great little café in the Inner Richmond with excellent food. Nice atmosphere, although sometimes it can get too busy to bear. I often wish they had two lines– one for picking up a to-go order, and one for ordering in– because I frequently find myself waiting in line for 20 minutes to pick up food that I called in(precisely so that I wouldn’t have to wait in line). That being said, the breakfast burrito has saved me on more than one occasion, and I’m happy to support this neighborhood staple.

Very cool little coffee shop/restaurant close to Golden Gate Park. I live within walking distance of this café and know I’ll be frequenting it in the months to come! The only downside: seating can be difficult to find because of the size! They serve their huevos rancheros only on the weekends and the breakfast burrito is delicious(add ham!). Overall a very awesome place to eat and hangout with friends!

I used live around the block from this place and would come often because, first and foremost, they serve Blue Bottle Coffee! Although I don’t live near anymore, I still wouldn’t mind stopping by for a good grilled sandwich. I would normally stay for brunch and order the Pantani or the The Coppi. They come with a small salad that usually has apple/strawberries, goat cheese and a lemon/olive oil dressing. So refreshing! It’s a small café so don’t be a jerk and just come to use the free wifi.

The food here is decent. Nothing too special but they have a pretty good breakfast menu and some good sandwiches. However, as with most places in the city, the coffee is overpriced and they are really stingy with it. I got an ice coffee for almost 3 bucks. It came in a really small glass that was filled with ice. When I asked if they do refills they said that they do «but its the same price as the coffee»… So I basically paid 3 dollars for 4 ouces of coffee. Good one Velo Rouge, way to be cheap to your costumers… Unfortunately, they can get away with that kind of crap because there are not many other options in the area.

If you have not tried their breakfast burrito, you’re missing out on life. Yes, it’s vegetarian. BUT carnivores(like myself) will enjoy it, nonetheless. Add bacon – it just makes an amazing burrito even better. Wish they’d give more salsa with their(noticeably stale) chips, but the main course makes up for it.

This place is awesome. Coffee: They serve Blue Bottle and coffee gets served quickly. There’s a hearty menu to choose from. I don’t feel like it’s the best coffee I’ve ever had or anything. Oddly enough, my hot drinks never stay hot. But solid coffee nonetheless. Food: I’ve had mostly their breakfast stuff. It’s a little pricier for breakfast when you think of café, but this place is a hybrid of café and restaurant. The food is good but I would rather come here for coffee than food. Go for the savory over the sweet. There’s café pastries too. Ambiance: Kinda divey, super chill. I love it. They even provide books and board games. There’s a lot of funky furniture and it’s a little dimly lit. Nice place to read a book, hang out, or catch up with someone. Service: Superb. While my take on the coffee and food were a little above average, the combination of the ambiance and the great service is honestly what keeps me coming back. The baristas and cashiers are always nice. Even the cooks are nice. They’re all just cool, sometimes they make small talk but it’s never awkward. They’re always nice and will be more than glad to help you order. It’s what really bumps up my rating an extra .5 stars. Bonus: The place pushes eco-friendly behaviors. Always a plus. And they’re open late. Another big plus.

After a 60 hr Lyft week. This was the closest place to me. I walked in and ordered and felt like a deer in headlights when(Alison?) I believe her name was asked me what I wanted to drink with her big doe eyes. My heart wasn’t prepared for that flutter. The dirty chai I ordered was great it had a heart on top which I know was special just for me! Just kidding but little details like that subconsciously make me happy after a long week. Now if I knew that the breakfast burrito comes with the worlds smallest side of salsa I would have asked for 2 or 3. Maybe I just eat way too much salsa. I would return. I just wish I was alert enough to realize it comes meat free. Bacon is a must next time.

I came here yesterday and got the breakfast sandwich and there was nothing wrong with it or the service. Today, however, the service has left me feeling unwelcome and like I’m a burden to the woman that works here. I ordered the breakfast burrito(nothing amazing) and went to sit on one of the tables outside as there were none available inside. After I got my food, a man came outside and said ‘did you order a coffee?’ I said yes, as I had. And he then said ‘great, it’s inside’. I was expecting him to then bring it out to me, as the only other option would be to leave my food unattended on the street and come in and get it myself. After about 15 minutes the waitress brought my(now cold) coffee out to me, slammed it down on the table and was overall just kind of passive aggressive about it. Are waitresses not expected to bring people their coffee in San Francisco or what? The chef who brought my food out to me(does he do all the work at this place?) however, was very friendly and smiley.

So everyone knows brunch waits get ridiculous in this city. This place is a little different in that it’s counter service, so you don’t have to wait for a table… but you do have to wait a while for your food. There aren’t a lot of tables inside, but you can grab your food to go and take it to the park. We ordered the breakfast burrito with chicken apple sausage(and black beans, potatoes, eggs, avocado, and sour cream) served with chips and salsa. The burrito was large, definitely filling, and pretty delicious. That being said, I thought having to add $ 2.50 for meat was a bit of a high price for an add on. We split the Jack Johnson banana pancakes which had chunks of banana and almond cooked in. They were good, but could have been a little more banana-y. Overall the food was pretty good, and reasonably priced(for SF). We probably waited around a half hour for it, so I’m not sure it cut down significantly on the brunch wait. If I came back on a weekend, I’d probably call in a to-go order ahead of time.

Very decent sandwiches, good salads, and nice coffee makes this place a pretty good stop on any lazy weekend afternoon. Bike racks aplenty, Velo Rouge is decked out in vintage bike memorabilia, sandwiches named after cycling greats and some awesome décor, if you like that kinda thing. I like getting a pint. Often families in there, but it’s roomier than it first appears and the only downside is the sometimes unfriendly staff who never seem to give the happy hour discount unless you ask for it. That loses you a *. Bastards.

Stumbled upon this café after riding through the park. What a find! Sandwiches were delicious especially the club sandwich. Salad on the side was also fresh and tasty. $ 3.50 pints at happy hour were a bargain. Look forward to coming again soon! My recommendation: the club sandwich! Yum!

Stopped in to velo rouge for lunch. It’s a very cute little corner café that has a vintage bicycle theme going on. There isn’t much seating but it wasn’t too busy when we got there around 1:30pm. They have a happy hour with drink specials from 2pm: discounted pints and house wines. We also saw a sign that promoted live music and movies there on certain nights. We definitely plan to head back and check that out at some point. They have a great sandwich menu and some good breakfast options. We decided to try something from each menu: the green hornet veggie sandwich and the breakfast burrito. Both were amazing. The sandwich had 3 types of cheese, hummus, beats, sprouts and all the other standard veggies. It was really delicious. That breakfast burrito tho… Amazing! Definitely the best I’ve had in a long time. We just got the standard but you can also add meat. I highly recommend ordering it no matter what time of day you stop in. The breakfast menu is served all day so you have no excuse not to try it!

We’re going rouge! This café is dear to my heart. I used to study here during finals week when I was at USF. The café is small, quaint, and laid back. The staff are super friendly and they have such amazing food and coffee! Caffeine kick, right away! I took my bro and cousin for a quick bite before my flight. I got the McCallister scramble while the two of them go the breakfast burritos. Man, breakfast food is just so good! The McCallister scramble consists of an open faced scramble(egg, bell pepper, bacon, cheese, spinach, and potatoes) on an English muffin. It was amazing! The seasoning they use is really good, especially on the potatoes. Yum! I got the caffe latte too which is served with blue bottle coffee! The café is decorated with bicycle theme and it is very cute and really neat how they made some of their furniture from bicycles. Overall, an amazing café with such sweet people!
