Vanessa Franks, DDS

If you’re looking for a new dentist, look no more. Dr. Franks is extremely competent, friendly and caring. I’ve had a cleaning and several fillings and she’s great about explaining what she’s doing and checking in to make sure you’re comfortable. Dr. Franks takes extra measures to get things done in the most efficient way and to ensure patient comfort. Her dental assistant who assisted with the fillings is also great.
The office is cute and the staff is very friendly (although they’re new and seem to be getting the hang of things still).
Dr. Franks is a quality dentist who genuinely cares about her work and patients!

Not professional. First time patient. I waited an hour and ½, and continued to wait until I decided I had to go cause my meter was running out and I had to go back to work. I told the assistant I just had to go cause I’ve been waiting too long. No one called me back to reschedule or to apologize. Definitely shows that they didn’t care.

Before seeing Dr. Franks, I hadn’t gone to the dentist in two years. She helped bring me up to speed. I was presented with a plan of action for the dental work I needed and she also showed me the work that needed to be done (with a mirror, for those who need to see that the work really needs to be done).
Coming from NYC, my experience with Dr. Franks has been very different from previous experiences at the dentist. She is truly a family dentist, one who is personable, likeable, reliable, and someone you can trust your family with. She even does follow-​up calls.
She has been a pleasure to work with and genuinely cares about her patients. She is attentive to the issues I was having, and even redid some fillings for free. I highly recommend Dr. Franks and will continue visiting her office for the foreseeable future.

Dr. Vanessa Franks is the coolest.
I had a pressing issue and needed to find a dentist fast. I found her listing through my insurance’s find-​a-​doctor search engine. So glad I contacted her! She’s really flexible about scheduling, a great dentist, and an awesome person.
She’s just starting out in SF and her office is blooming nicely. The space itself has great aesthetics. Excellent tunes pervade the office. Her waiting area houses comfy chairs and an impressive collection of magazines (I happily geeked out to the smithsonian, forbes women, the new yorker…). Her staff (as lovely!) recently started serving hot tea and water to folks as they wait. Combined with the good reads, this small and pleasant gesture eases the usual ennui of the wait room.
…andddd perhaps most importantly of all, Dr. Franks is a secret Pokemaster– figuratively ^.^ she’s collecting all the degrees, ask her about her plant knowledge!
I look forward to seeing her as my dentist as long as she’s in the area :)

My husband, three kids and I have been going to Dr. Frank’s office for 4 years, and have always been more than satisfied with the care she provides. She is so kind (my kids refuse to go to any other dentist), & attentive with every patient. Her office is always clean, and the staff is super friendly as well. What we also like is that she works on Saturday, which is so convenient for people who work on weekdays.
If you’re looking for a good dentist, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed with Dr. Franks!

Took our two little children ages 2 and 4 to the dental office of Vanessa Franks DDS. Our 4 year old loved it! She wants to go back tomorrow. The 2 year old was less excited but received a good cleaning anyway.
The general location is good. Right across the street from University of San Francisco Medical Center. Plenty of nearby parking. The general location is nearby many other medical facilities. The outside of the office is going under renovation so was hard to find the entrance. The interior of the office is small and cozy. Did not get the sense of some large dental office. Things were on-​time and fast. Both kids said it didn’t hurt at all which is great!
The office is an older antique style. Clean and comfortable. It was a refreshing change to visit a dentist who is very personal. Our last dentist was large and impersonal. They even charged us 70 $ because we could not make the appointment, twice! We also had to wait in a queue of customers every time. So it was very nice to visit a dentist who is not some large ‘too busy for me’ type place.
She also took very good care of my kids. Very positive experience all the way around.
