We had high hopes and were deeply disappointed. Both my sister and I were left with ragged cuticles, unfiled nails, streaky polish and nicks in the surface. My thumb nail bed was bleeding and the guy continued to paint, dragging blood through the polish. I pointed it out and he ignored me. Only when the blood welled up enough to leave a red streak in the polish did he clean off the nail and start again. It was hands down the worst manicure I have ever encountered– extremely disappointed. Rude and incompetent staff. Additionally, the hours are listed as 9:30−7, but we were told to wait outside when we arrived at 10:30. They leisurely opened the gate at 10:45, as if nothing was wrong. Seriously?

I’m changing my rating because I made an appointment and they still made me wait. They were understaffed the day I went. I don’t mind waiting while my gel polish is being removed and the stylist going to assist another customer, but she put the foil on my fingers and didn’t check on me for an hour because she was putting eyelashes on another woman. When she came back to me the acetone had turned my skin chalky white and she gave me the bowl to soak it in and then left me again for 30 minutes. Her husband then finished another customer’s acrylics and then came to me, instead of filing he used the drummel and I told him I don’t like that used on my nails and he moved over to help someone else. When the lady finally came back to me she realized how long I waited and was in such a rush to get me out of there she did such a sloppy job. Overall it was 3.5 hours for a gel manicure. DONTGOHERE! Go to Creative Nails in Hayes Valley, walk the distance or take a bus. It’s worth it.

I came in for half leg and underarm wax, without an appointment. The salon was busy but still managed to fit me in after a 30 minute wander around the neighbourhood. The woman who did my wax did a great job — she was very thorough and took her time. It was just as thorough and less painful than way more expensive waxes I’ve had in the area. The salon was clean and very friendly.

When I came in the door was closed, but someone showed up right away to help me in, I got a manicure and pedicure deal for just 24 $ which is pretty good. They were quick and careful. Did a great job!

Worst manicure I’ve had in years. Nice lady and clean studio but the polish looks really bad. Is already coming off too. I’m not happy.

I love this place in my neighborhood. The guy there is great at doing gel manicures. Once I had one from a newer girl, and she didn’t do a great job with the polish though. Very inexpensive but I tip well. I’ve been there about eight times and will keep going back. The two main manicurists there are very solid.

I was in a serious time crunch so I hopped over to this incredibly convenient spot for a shellac manicure. Probably the worst I will ever have. The guy who did my nails seemed like the boss guy. He painfully mangled my cuticles, got bumpy, splotched pain all around my nails, and painted over the cuticles that he had left behind.

I wish I would have waited and gone to my regular place but I wanted to find a good back up close to home, this place is not it! Instead of taking the time to soak my old gel off, he scraped and filed, ouch!!! My cuticles where cut WAY too much and the polish is just ok :(I will never go back!

I had a disappointing experience here yesterday. The manicurist cut my finger and made it bleed while trimming my cuticles. The worst part is that he was not apologetic at all! He did apply antiseptic and soak up the blood with a cotton swab, but he didn’t say sorry once or appear concerned. In addition, the shaping of my nails wasn’t the greatest. Ugh. I was really hoping to like this place, as it’s so close to my new home, but no such luck.

I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to post a great review of this place! I don’t want it to be flooded with customers every time I go! This little jewel box of a nail salon sits in the heart of the Mission, but it’s hard to spot on Mission street with all of the… street activity. It’s clean, affordable, and the staff do an amazing job at making your nails look pretty. I’d call ahead for an appointment, as they’re not a big salon.

This place is so sweet. It’s a tiny little salon that is clean and orderly. They have the best selection of colors and like a hundred gel options. I just got a lovely manicure for $ 8.00! I walk by it everyday because I live just around the corner, and now I’m making it my go to spot. Thank you V Nails!
