US Post Office

I’ve been coming here for the past two weeks to ship Xmas gifts and the lady working the lobby is so helpful. She had

«Vxxxxxxa», the USPS employee that «helped» us, was insisting the package being sent to Indonesia must be in English. She said it was a new regulation.
Let that sink in.
It could have been a matter of translation since the employee’s first language is not English…
Perhaps she meant, the address must be made out using the alphabet. That couldn’t have been the case because the address was written out using the alphabet.
Quickly growing tired with reasoning with her, we decided to go to the USPS station in Noe Valley.
There, were assisted quickly, courteously and professionally. Package sent without incidents

This post office has employees who care! I’ve been going there for over 10 years because it’s so convenient and we have a po box there. I mail a lot for business. Once another larger branch lost a package but that’s never happened here. Fed Ex and UPS have also lost packages for us… The post office is great! Very quick priority delivery too, even during holidays.

Worse post office I ever been in. Came here because I was in the area biggest mistake. The black guy working counter is a idiot and supervisor SILVIA is a racist stupid B!%÷$&. Never felt so embarrassed in my life. They literally just hire anyone to work there with no type of education! !!

This is my local post office — the place where all my packages are held for pickup. Sure, there are closer post offices & why they chose to identify this location as my «main spot» is beyond me but I roll with it
Never try to call this location — you’ll never get through. This is an in-​person-​only kind of establishment
But there’s a Safeway, a Walgreens, & a BofA in the same complex so never a waste of time
Over the years, I’ve learned to go right as they open & the lines are reasonable more often than not. I will also say that this location more often than not, will have people stationed at all their open windows & this is a rarity when most other post offices usually only have 1 person at the window
From my own experience as well as what I witness, customers are being helped efficiently or at least as quickly as possible. No one’s hustling by any means but they’re not intentionally slowing down the process either
So yeah, that’s all A-​OK w/​me

1 star for not doing anything and being lazy. Before I even went here I called 3 times and no one answered the phone. When I finally got to the post office there were 2 ppl working and no customers to tend to. I went up to them because I needed to send in my passport application and they told me I need an appointment and told me to go to the post office at Evans st… okay I get that I have no appointment but why do I have to go there when they aren’t doing anything right now. might as well help send in my application. Do your freakin job and stop lazying around!

For the 2^nd time Diamond Heights Post Office has closed my business PO Box without informing me despite the fact that I am paid several months in advance. It is impossible to get the supervisor or anyone on the phone. The USPS had to return my call from their Georgia offices to get my complaint to this SF post office. pathetic

1. Understaff and very slow service
2. Nobody answers the phone 9 out of 10x you call
3. Always a problem with pkg deliveries
4. Hidden location and very small area

I’ve received 3 or 4 wrongly delivered pieces of mail in the last couple of weeks from the Diamond Heights Post Office. Then, I received a card for a parcel marked: final notice, and it was the first time they attempted delivery. When I phoned the number on the card to reschedule, I was met by an automated system that was poorly programmed and difficult to understand. (I’m sure they could have found computer voices that sound clearer then ones from the 1990’s). I went online to reschedule delivery, following the url given on the card, and found there was no record of the article number appearing on the notice.
Kafka is running this post office. Unless you are a great fan of systems that are designed psychologically torture the user, stay away.

This happened in early May — sorry for the late posting.
The worker Daniel was incredibly rude and stomped on my foot. — luckily I talked with a manager and they said they would reprimand him.
I got a package slip that said they were open till 5:30pm I got there at 5:10 and they were closed. Posted times were different. I waited to talk with someone. I just wanted to ask why the times were different? And if this was new. The worker Daniel wouldn’t let me ask my question. He was incredibly rude and belligerent. I blocked the door so I could ask one simple question and he kept ramming the door into me. He then stomped on my foot after I kept asking why won’t you let me ask my question. I shouldn’t have blocked the door but he also shouldn’t have resorted to physical violence. I was calm and just wanted to ask a question. He was rude and disrespectful from the beginning.

This place is a black hole for mail. Seriously, if you drop off packages they add days onto delivery. Moreover, if you need supplies for totally legitimate reasons, i.e. mailing USPS packages (!) they won’t give them to you.
Oh, and they are often closed even when their hours state open.

This is one of the friendliest post offices I have been to.
When I go to post offices, I don’t expect customer service on par with that of The French Laundry. I expect reasonable people who provide prompt and friendly service — and that is what I have consistently found here over the years.
Lines can get long during the holidays, but that’s understandable.
Recent anecdote: needed an envelope to be weighed and inadvertently sealed it before putting in all of the contents — yeah, one of those days. To my pleasant surprise, the person behind the counter quickly found a letter opener and offered to tape up the envelope after I had put in the wayward contents. Special kudos to the staff for being great multi-​taskers — there are lots of crazy customers with crazy requests (like mine!), and they always strive to help as best as possible.

They are understaffed which results in long lines when you have to physically be present at this post office.
They are difficult to contact if there is an issue– for example, with a package pick-​up etc.
My mail is delivered around 6pm each day… I hate the fact that it is delivered so late.
I’ve asked for an earlier delivery time but nothing has changed.

Does not answer the phone, ever. The one time they did answer, a man was talking to someone else and started dialing while I was on the line then hung up on me. I just want to know where my Christmas package is… :(

This place is a disaster.
I have had a PO box here for ten years, and i am about to give it up because MAIL IS CONSISTENTLY LOST or shows up a month after the post mark. The mail is likely not lost within this branch, but being the only source to track down the problem and offering zero help in sorting out the issue is this branch’s fault.
This place is seriously understaffed. So there are very long lines. I have waited in line to speak to somebody about the lost mail, and they tell me i need to speak to the supervisor, who is never there. They have me write down my number for her, and she never calls.
Like many other reviews have said, they DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE here, and there is NO VOICE MAIL! I was persistent for months, and i finally won the lottery and got the supervisor, Mary. She promised me that she would keep an eye on my mail and work to track down this problem and call me back. She never did.
I was persistent in calling again — for another month — and i finally got her again this week. She didn’t apologize, and just said that they are understaffed and she supervises a bunch of branches. Then she asked me what i expected her to do to track down the problem anyway! A strange thing to say after she promised that she would.
The supervisor also keeps suggesting to call the Office of Consumer Affairs, which i have consistently done, even before i ever reached anybody at the post office. They do not answer the phone, and they do not return calls after i leave a message either.
This is sad. The US postal service had been so solid and consistent for so many years. I used to be shocked how quickly mail would make it from one place to another in the bay area, but the wheels have fallen off. I am done.

How this place has 2 stars is beyond me. I have never had a convenient experience at this location. There are usually just one or two clerks back there working as slowly as a human being can work and the line goes out the door sometimes. If you do business here then you must be one of those people who enjoys sitting in traffic. If you value your time then completely avoid this atrocity.

Hours have changed, but they have not updated the hours listed on the orange slips they leave you when you have to go into the office to pick up your package.
The card says they are open until 5:30 and when I arrived at 5:01PM the doors were locked and the woman inside ignored the crowd outside, everyone seemed to be confused about the hours change too.
FYI they are only opened until 5:00PM on weekdays

Awful phone service.
No one ever answers.
This place is terrible.
No one cares.

Its been a year since my review and frankly not a single thing has changed. Recently my vacation mail was lost! I have been trying to retrieve it from USPS for 3 days now. 3 days i have had to leave work early to go over here and be told that no one can help me but they will «fax another request to their warehouse» and I can come back tomorrow to see if my request was fulfilled.
For those of you that dont know, there is a «warehouse» that services all of the post offices in SF and what I am about to say is the most pathetic thing i have ever heard from a PUBLIC AGENCY, I even feel silly repeating it, so please brace yourself.
Here it goes: There is a «warehouse» that recieves and distributes all of the mail in SF. Apparently, the general public CANNOT visit or call the «warehouse» their ONLY form of communication is FAX. AND if you ask to speak with a manager you are out of luck because ALL of the managers work at this conspicuous warehouse. The only thing you can do is write your complaint down and they will FAX it to the managers attention at the warehouse.
I told you its pathetic, which is why I give them 1 star!

Anyone who has complained about the mail holds is RIGHT–
The customer service (independent of the mail hold situation) is the WORST.
Clearly a union, lifer, run down the clock work situation.
And obviously the HR manager only hires one ethnicity of people to work here?
