Went to Union Post for a notary of my signature on my mylar for a real estate map to be recorded in Nevada. The form of the Notary on the mylar was not done per CA standard. Notwithstanding, Ruth Ann called the National Association of Notaries to determine what could and could not be done. She ended up suggesting that I fix it and then went ahead an notarized the mylar. Ruth Ann spent a good 30 minutes on this. She went the extra mile (and a half) to get the job done right the first time. I felt bad that all I could pay her was the statutory $ 10.00 notary fee. I should have bought $ 100 worth of office supplies:) Ruth Ann is a gem!

Excellent customer services! Especially we would like to say Thank You to the Notary guy! He is very knowledgeable and friendly. :)

Quick service! I was in and out of there!

These guys do high-​quality passport photos, including the biometric version for EU passports.
They definitely care a lot more about what they do than, let’s say, a drugstore «photo center.»
The photographer let me take a few photos and review them to decide which I liked best, and then he printed me two different versions (two of each) so I could decide what I wanted to ultimately submit with my passport.
Service was super quick and very friendly.
I’d definitely come back here for any future «official photo» needs!

I’ve used this store for a few things over the last 3 years. But today, I came in to send a check via FedEx overnight.
I asked about pricing, and also asked if their pricing included a fee or was more expensive than going to FedEx or the USPS. The man at the desk with an accent (Russian?) said, «No, it’s not more expensive. We don’t charge a fee, it’s retail» and quoted about $ 63 for overnight.
I left and walked down one block to the FedEx store and shipped it overnight for $ 34.50.
Not cool. I might have gone ahead and used Union Post’s service if I had a feeling they weren’t telling me the truth. I stuck to my intuition and saved over $ 30. Needless to say, I won’t be doing business there any longer, even though it’s around the corner from our office. They’ve made keys for me, I’ve shipped things from there as well have bought stamps. I’ll take the extra time to go to the FedEx office or USPS one block further.

I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I’ll never be given a passport photograph that actually looks like me. *wooomp wooomp* In fact, I’ve come to accept and believe, both passport photograph-​takers & the government are so enamored with your beautiful, shining, miraculous selves, they are hell bent on posing you in the most peculiar ways that ensure awkwardness. Maybe they are trying to showcase us as we might look if we were mid-​criminal activity? Disheveled, bug-​eyed, sweaty … but of course, with ears showing!
I might not get the best passport photograph but UnionPost made it easy and seamless, in a central location, with a dozen services that will most certainly come in handy sooner or later. They also offer shipping & packing, including wine shipment needs, like the bottle shaped bubble wrap, which I was thrilled to see, as I prepare for my upcoming travels home to Turkey & will be purchasing quite a few bottles of Turkish liquors & wines to bring back to San Francisco; mailbox rentals, live scan fingerprints and the ink (FD-​258) version, too. You can also visit for Notary Public, Apostille, money orders, faxing, copying, printing & scanning, along with document shredding. They have a fair selection of different box shapes and sizes that are hard to come by, elsewhere, for really good prices. You can complete your DHL, FedEx, UPS & USPS-​related services here. They have stamps and wonderful hard backed envelopes for secure shipping, too.
You’ll get a friendly atmosphere, without massive lines & finally, you can check off another to-​do off your list with minimal hassle. Don’t drive here. Public transportation or a ride share you feel comfortable and safe with, are your most reliable choices, as it’s generally, always, automotive madness in the FiDi /​Union Square area.

Didn’t think it was possible to have fun at a shipping center, but at Union Post it is!
I came here to get fingerprints done and expected to wait an hour, especially since there were about 6 other customers in the store.
Phil (the employee who helped me) was super efficient and friendly too! Everything got done quickly and correctly, and Phil has a great personality that shows they care about their customers. Great service!

BEWARE! Do not use this place for notary services! Used this place to have my husband’s teaching credential notarized about 3 weeks ago and we were just informed that it was rejected by the government because the person who performed this service didn’t sign with his correct name! We now have to have his credential re-​notarized and pay another processing fee! This has become a huge headache!
If you need notary services DO NOT come here!

Five stars to both Raoul and Phil for helping me send a package internationally. These guys are funny, friendly and super helpful.
I was properly informed of all rates for the various postal services. This is my go-​to spot for all my shipping needs!

I had an appointment on a Saturday for finger printing at 12 p.m. I was there on time and the place was closed. There were 3 other people waiting outside whom had appointments earlier than me.
I waited for an hour and no one showed up. How can they run a business like this? The appointment was confirmed and I had to drive 30 minutes to get here. I wasted a good amount of time for nothing.

These guys are fantastic: efficient, courteous, and funny as hell.
I would rather wait in a line of 20 at UnionPostSF than wait in a line of 5 at FedEx or USPS any day.
The workers — Phil, David, Raul, Ruth-​Anne, Alex — always come up with solutions to my shipping needs, and I have never had an unsatisfying experience. Whoever is in charge of hiring at this location should be commended.

These guys do everything! Notary, mail, stamps, fingerprinting, passport photos… pretty much your one stop shop for anything and everything job/​government-​related.
I came in for fingerprinting, which I’ve had to get done maybe 4 times in my life (none were crime related, i promise!!).this was by far the fastest, friendliest fingerprinting stop I’ve ever had to make. I worked with Phil and he was super friendly and super funny… I have to give this place 5 stars just for his silly banter alone. His cheerful demeanor was definitely a mid-​day pick-​me-​up!

UnionPostSF saved the day on tax day.
The post office downtown was a dismal situation. Collared shirts paired with anxious scowls filled the space. I was about to join the disenchanted line of people — when I remembered that a kind man at Fed Ex had recommended UnionPostSF.
I sped walk over.
There was no line and the moment I walked in — three friendly faces asked if I needed any help. Within five minutes — I had mailed my taxes, as well as another package. I have never had such a smooth postal experience — ever! The staff even tried to help me fix my broken shoe.
I had stepped into UnionPostSF stressed.
I walked out beaming and with a bounce in my step (a combination of my poorly made shoes and the outstanding service here).
Trust.

Of all the things I had to do to get ready for my last-​minute trip, UnionPostSF was by far the easiest part of it all!

UPDATE: I previously gave it 2 stars because of the issues below. HOWEVER, Alex, the owner, promptly contacted me and David, the store manager, went above and beyond to help. I am happy to see that the owner really cares.
Like I previously said, everybody else in the store is just great to deal with and I am glad they took care of the incident in a very professional way. I am now a customer.

I guess every place has a bad apple.
I inquired about renting a mailbox. The guy was very helpful wrote down the rates for me but since he didn’t have access to the computer he told me to confirm them with one of the guys who did.
I waited patiently, then a very big man moved in front of me. When my turn came up, the man behind the counter ignored me and served the man who had pushed through. Then when I asked him about the rates, without looking at the terminal he quoted rates about DOUBLE those quoted by the first person.
I smell BS when I see it. I waited for the other clerk who showed me the rates on his terminal, which were identical to the ones I was first quoted.
All this ordeal lasted about 30 precious minutes of my lunch break. There are so many things wrong with this picture.
If I ever go back there, I will just know to avoid that person. Maybe he is the owner of the place, but if he is not, he should not be working there. You can see his picture in this business’ gallery. Always double check whatever rate he quotes. He makes rates up.
