I had my first appointment with Dr. Lindy Fox and she was so wonderful. In addition to no wait time, she explained everything that she was going to do, was very gentle and professional. She was thorough and gave me options regarding procedures that would not be covered by insurance. She was so nice and personable, i have found my new term Dr. She’s great!

Dr. Lindy Fox was waaay too expensive for basic service, and the team at UCSF is rather incompetent when it comes to billing. I would head to a Sutter facility.

Dr Siegrid Yu and staff! I was very nervous about getting a type of skin cancer *basal” removed from my right forehead. It really helped to walk to the facility which took me an hour and 15 min. I felt relaxed; and felt confident after meeting Dr. Yu and her amazing staff. From the moment I walked in the office the secretary was nice and explained to me what to do. I was then sent to the patient room where they asked me questions regarding my health. I am in great health but get nervous around needles or surgery. Dr Yu explained everything she was going to do and put me at ease. He Assistants were great and all professional. They also acknowledged the fact that they know I am fearful of needles – which I appreciated – so they made it as painless as possible. The whole process was an easy one! I went in at 8 and came out by 1. Give Dr. Siegrid Yu a try as you will not be disappointed. Her credentials speak for themselves! She is amazing and my skin and scar came out great! The staff was fabulous and always helpful! Lucky me –give it a shot – you will not be disappointed!

I totally got rip off. I have a laser of syrigoma done. They charged $ 2500 for half face. After going through turture of recovery. All the deposit came back. They said don’t why it came back. Money are for labor fee. No refund. Nothing can be done. Totally unreliable and unresponsive. Don’t go ucsf laser if you dont want to got rip off.

Dr. Grekin and his team are professional and fantastic! I have been treated by Dr. Grekin for a bit over three years for the large port wine stain on the right side of my face and on my neck. He and his team have been absolutely amazing! I had treatment for my birthmark when I was younger, and was highly disappointed… but Dr. Grekin has changed everything for me. Three years and counting and my birthmark has improved significantly and looks 100x’s better than i could have ever imagined. Dr. Grekin is direct, straight to the point, and completely honest… he never beats around the bush… I appreciate his straightforwardness… but understand that those 1. without a sense of humor 2. without a strong backbone 3. that takes things WAY too personally– could be offended. His team is great, friendly, and accomodating… though the wait can be extremely long at times, it is worth it. Dr. Grekin and his team are wonderful at what they do… there is no one that can top his capabilities. I would recommend his office to anyone in a heartbeat!

I’ve been here a few times and multiple times I’ve waited 30+ minutes for a 5 – 10 minute service. This place seems to be super disorganized.

Waited an hour and half to be seen. No apology from Dr. Grekin for being late. Was seen for fifteen minutes and charged $ 150. Extremely frustrating. My prescription was sent to pharmacy with my wrong address.

first off I would like to say this is the first time I have ever written a review of any kind on the internet but I felt the need to give some kudos. I have been coming here since 2002 to get botox injections in my palms for excessive sweating and they do an amazing job. For a while, I had Kaiser but none of the doctors could successfully do the nerve block. I also tried one other doctor who had a video on youtube but his method was much less effective and the entire procedure was not only more expensive than UCSF but also way less effective. Initially I used to see Dr. Zachary but he went on to work at UC Irvine about 10 years ago. Ever since then Dr Newhouse has been doing the injections and he does an even better job than Dr Zachary. which i didn’t think was possible. He knows exactly how to angle the needle and the precise injection sites to get the blocker to work effectively. The staff there are all super nice and knowledgeable and they have always given me a more than fair price for my out of pocket procedure. I can’t recommend this place enough.

I am so unhappy that I went here. Besides the fact that the doctor I saw Sarah Chisolm was running late, she seemed in a rush to get my in and out due this fact. Which was annoying. I waited for her so she should have the decency to take some time with me. They did not take my vitals, she barely asked me anything and was with me for under 5 minutes before prescribing some creams and telling me that if they don’t work «we’ll do something else.» How about we figure out what is wrong before trying to treat this.
If that wasn’t bad enough, the creams are not working a month later so what a waste.
Fast forward to yesterday when I get a 500 dollar bill in the mail for my 3 minute appointment. I have insurance but it only covered a third of this. I am completely floored. I thought surely this was a mistake, they did NOTHING for me besides spend less than 5 minutes with me. I called the office and was told «That is what we are allowed to charge you.» Meaning we charged you the highest amount allowable. For what? I asked. All she did was write me a prescription (that isn’t working and cost me 70 $). «Well we did take your vitals» the woman on the phone replied. «No you didn’t.» «Oh.»
This is the kind of bullshit nonsense I’m dealing with. I can’t tell you how irritated I am. Meanwhile I’ve been trying to get in touch with their billing supervisor all day with no answer. Does this woman ever sit down at her desk and check her messages? I have never been so mistreated with a doctor. Had she actually done something that warranted a bill I would understand but this bill is huge for the three minutes she spent with me. Steer clear. The might as well be bandits in doctor’s coats. Obviously these people are crooks with poor manners.
I may do what Apple did to Samsung and send them a jar of coins to pay my bill.

I did not have good experience here.
I had my fourth MOHS procedure today, this was my third at this UCSF facility and the second one with Dr. Grekin.
The facility itself seems efficient with good processes in place for appts and checking patients in. Pretty much all of the nurses and staff were friendly and courteous, but I was stunned at the lack of communication and confusion about what was happening next or when.
I’m familiar enough with MOHS procedures, essentially the doctor surgically takes a portion of the tissue where the Basal Cell Carcinoma tumor is, sends it off to the on site lab to check for clear margins while you sit there in the chair and, if successful, you’re then surgically «repaired» and closed up.
Dr. Grekin’s previous work on me ended up with a very good result, a barely noticeable repair scar and for that I’m grateful. It’s my face.
Today, things just seemed completely different from my last experiences. After phase 1 was done with tissue being cut out and about an hour later, a younger assisting doctor came in and asked me if anyone «had told me yet».
Me: Told me what? Where is Dr. Grekin?
Response: «oh, you’re clear».
I thought GREAT, close me up and get me out of here.
He began wiping at the open wound with gauze and continued to do so after I told him that the numbing was definitely wearing off and that I was FEELING all of that. No one seemed the slightest bit concerned that the numbing was quickly fading and I was feeling this open gash in my head. After mentioning it to three different staff, someone finally numbed me up again. I just couldn’t wrap my brain around this.
The lack of sincere concern or sense of urgency baffled me.
Ninety minutes later…(read that again)…Ninety minutes-​later after my repeated inquiries, the younger assisting doctor came in and told me he was going to close me up, the same one who did not seem concerned to my earlier pain.
I wasn’t comfortable with that so I requested that Dr. Grekin finish the surgery please and thank you.
I waited an additional 30 minutes in the cold, windowless room for Dr. Grekin to appear and he then completed the repair and sewed me up. He never once talked to me the entire time. He went on to the younger doctor assisting him about three other procedures of other patients and the shortcomings of some other surgeons. Not what I want to hear about while my face is being cut away at.
Honestly, I can look past Dr. Grekin’s lack of bedside manner, it doesn’t feel great to have nothing explained to you while they’re cutting your face open, but at least his level of expertise and years of practice do compensate for that.
The lack of communication and being left sitting for hours just waiting to get closed up to get out of there were extremely frustrating.
I’m thankful that I don’t have to endure this very often and I’m unaware of a better facility to tackle this sort of thing. At least this review might help shed light on what CAN happen.

No one would ever say that they look forward to having a surgical procedure and with the skin issues i have, I’ve had many. The one I had on Friday was the most enjoyable I’ve ever had, in fact the funnest. Dr. Al Dabigh did an amazing job. He had a great bed side manner. He kept me talking and laughing and kept my mind off the sniping and stitching that was going on. Nurse Natasha was great too.
Dr Neuhaus was through in his explanation of the procedure and seems to be a great mentor and teacher. I highly recommend UCSF for all your medical needs,

I recently had an appointment with Dr Resneck. He was quick, professional and took the time to explain all my options. He was exactly what I expect in a demotologist. I didn’t have a go-​to dermatologist before and made an appointment based on a recommendation of another doctor within the center. She wasn’t available and luckily, I got Dr Resneck. I highly recommend him.

Dr Neuhause is amazing! I’d give him 10 stars!
He removed a large mole right below my eye and there is no sign at all of it ever being there. He explained his technique of cutting with the skin grain to minimize any sign and seemed quite proud of his work when i came back for a follow up. He has also lasered a Venus Lake on my lip with no scarring either.
Some insurance considers this cosmetic and you may have to pay out of pocket but he is well worth it.

0 stars. I couldn’t even book an appointment. I waited on hold for 30 minutes at a time on multiple occasions. I could leave a message but if I missed their call back than I would have to wait on hold again. Once I finally talked to a real person they said I would have to be transferred. After being transferred they just hung up on me. Another 30 minute phone call on hold and then I got a message saying everyone was at lunch and to leave a message. It is now day 5 of playing phone tag and I’m done. I’ll go elsewhere.

This establishment abandons patients!
I have seen Dr. Roy Grekin at least 4 times in the past and was told that the spots he was laser treating could come back over time and to make another appointment if so.
They did come back and when I went to make another appointment, I was told they have purged their records and I would have to come in as a new patient, but that Dr. Grekin is not seeing new patients. Huh? I am NOT a new patient and have seen him previously.
I could understand if Dr. Grekin is too busy or if he no longer works there or is doing some other role and is not seeing patients any more. But if he is, I’m his patient and am being told I cannot see him.
Further, if I wanted to see another doctor here, I would have to pay an ‘initial consultation fee’ again, something I already paid previously. UCSF is trying to double charge me?!
UCSF is fraudulent!

A total 5 star review for this Dept. On Friday I brought Baby Sara because she has been ill lately again and I can’t say how much I really appreciate the staff and the service we received. As we arrived the staff was so so friendly and I am so grateful to god that I didn’t bring my Sara to Kaiser.
Dr. Gupta was so so professional and gave my Sara alot of confidence to cure her and kept her head up. Usually when somebody has a Dr. Appt they have a time frame and have to rush the patients out fast but not this time. They were so determined to find out and figure out the symptoms and the reason for her sickness and this is only the 1^st of a few more appointments to come.

Dr. Neuhaus and his staff are absolutely wonderful. I was sent to Dr. Neuhaus by Dr. Glogau, also at UCSF, because I wanted to do something to brighten up my skin; get rid of the brown and scaly stuff and small lines on my face and neck. Dr. Neuhaus and his staff at the Mt. Zion location handle the IPL and laser-​related types of treatments at UCSF. I did an IPL treatment, and since then he has also done Botox and Restylane injections for me. I have had Botox and Restylane from plenty of high-​end providers and very nice medical «spas» (Simple Radiance in Greenbrae and Dr. David Laub in Mill Valley, to name a few, both of which are very good) but Dr. Neuhaus has been the best experience for me in terms of outcome. Anyone can learn to inject this stuff (and they do) but it truly takes someone with an aesthetic «eye’ to get the filler in the right place, and to make sure that you get good results with Botox without being «frozen». Dr. Neuhaus fixed several bad filler injections (too much and in the wrong place; even a teeny bit off and it looks funny) by injecting a filler «antidote», and then he went back and re-​injected in a different place so that it looked great. On top of his great skill sets as a derm, he is also just the nicest person ever, as are his fellows and nurses. Also, contrary to other departments at UCSF, I haver NEVER had to wait in the outside waiting room for more than 5 minutes. It’s unfortunate that Dr. Neuhaus and Dr. Greckin have to be bundled together on Unilocal,because if it wasn’t for Dr. Greckin’s horrible reviews, UCSF Derm with Dr. Neuhaus would have a solid 5 stars from myself and other reviewers. Best Nurse: Natasha, Best Fellow (Doctor in training for specialty) Natalie.
PS ALERT: Botox comes to the doctor’s office in a glass vial as a POWDER. Once you mix the powder with saline, it is only effective for 3 days. Providers can and do use the same vial for multiple patients, which is fine, because a clean sterile needle is inserted into the vial to draw up the botox; no chance of contamination. HOWEVER, if you see a Botox provider who uses «old» (over 72 HOURS is old!) on you, you will NOT see results. This is the reason that many people complain that Botox didn’t «work» on them at various times. A somewhat shady nurse provider that I was referred to in Novato Ca by by a friend who said she was «great and inexpensive», told me not to worry if the Botox didn’t «take’ because that occasionally there was a «bad batch». This is not true. She was just covering for the fact that her Botox is sometimes «old» because she doesn’t see enough patients to use up the entire vial within 72 hours.

Can’t say I was happy with them. There were only a couple of people that were nice. Others treated me like they were doing me a favor, although the procedures there are quite expensive even compare to the competitive businesses. I had hard time rescheduling. I always had to wait to be seen even when I had appointments.
I also felt like they were cutting costs (even though it was 2007-​08). They would not provide any little supplements to the treatment, but they would try to charge me.
Laser hair removal actually worked, but it was super super painful. And, it took 3 times more treatments than were promised.

You should see my skin.
FLAWLESS.
I saw Dr. Neuhaus in preparation for my wedding and we worked out an unbelievable plan for flawless skin. A little of this and a little of that. IPL for sun damage, light peels for acne, some botox, some fillers… I’ve tried it all and I am a HUGE fan.
He knows his stuff and his staff is excellent.
I couldn’t recommend him more.

Short story: Disorganized billing and treatments more damaging than helpful.
I have been going there for a simple scar treatment and it takes forever to get doctor to come in for a 5 minute laser treatment. That is after waiting months to get an appointment.
I have to block off 4 hours and then get hassled by billing for something covered by my insurance.
Then I saw another doctor who said I never should have had the treatments Isaac did because it made it WORSE. I should have left it alone but now I need to find a doctor to clean up the damage done by Neuhaus which is giving me daily pain.
