Poor customer service. Staff is not knowledgeable about the ingredients. Staff did not know if the yogurt had gelatin or not.

Great that they close pretty late and frozen yogurt and gelato? How much better can it eat? Maybe cupcakes? Lol. I came here on a Wednesday night and tried the gelato. It tasted just as I expected! The girl at the counter was nice and friendly and she wasn’t mean when we asked for a sample which is always a plus! For a small I got two scoops for $ 4? Not bad. I would definitely come back if I was craving for gelato!

If you find that the ice cream served at places like Cold Stone Creamery and Baskin Robbins is too sweet (the Italians have a word for it: «stucchevole»), you long for more flavor, but you can’t make the trip to Ciao Bella in the Ferry Building, try any of the many TuttiMelon franchises.
I love the snappy tart lemon sorbets and the black sesame gelato.

I came into Tuttimelon after having dinner with one of my besties at Fresca. We were craving something sweet and what better way to end dinner than with some frozen yogurt? :)
When we walked in, the place was completely empty! I was pretty surprised, considering it was a Friday night. It was very spacious and clean inside and I loved the little seating area.
I had no idea that Tuttimelon offered gelato so I tried the peanut butter cup but it was way too sweet and wasn’t airy at all, how gelato is supposed to taste. I ended up ordering a small vanilla frozen yogurt with sprinkles and felt that it wasn’t worth the price at $ 4. It was really good but just expensive!
I’ll definitely come back here for some yogurt but I think that Tuttimelon should stick to yogurt not gelato.

Ha, this place is cute, but definitely behind in the gelato game.
Tuttimelon is greatly located, and is a nice little spot to perhaps stop in and grab a little treat while you’re out running errands. The service was quick, and the place was nice and clean. But, the gelato they serve shouldn’t even be called that. It should be maybe called «a mildly flavored cold blob,» or something along those lines.
Maybe coming from places like Paciugo or Gelato Cup might be unfair, but seriously, the flavor and consistency of Tuttimelon’s product is way off of a real gelato. It might be even better to switch that place out to a normal ice cream place, because whatever they are serving just doesn’t taste good. We received a small cup, and although it was a generous serving, it was something not even worth finishing. The gelato had absolutely no flavor, a very weird consistency and too cold (is that even possible?). I’ve never quite tasted anything like it, and its weird to think I’d diss anything related to the ice cream family, but it just wasn’t good. I feel bad for San Franciscans whose only reference of gelato is Tuttimelon… my poor fellow friends, there is hope out there!
I do appreciate the location and ambiance of the place, but seriously, no thanks to the cold scoops of emptiness that they serve there. Maybe just stick with frozen yogurt?

Gelato is yummy. A and I stopped by a couple weekends ago to get some gelato on a relatively warm fall day in San Francisco.
I always take FORever to decide what flavor I want to get, whereas A knew lickety split what he was getting — his favorite, a chocolate one with nuts that I can’t remember the name of. Maybe it was called «chocolate one with nuts»? Probably not.
Anyway, I finally decided to get pistachio. I like pistachios. They’re nuts. And they’re green. There aren’t too many green nuts in the world. I’m kind of a nut, but I’m definitely not green. Green isn’t really my color. Come to think of it, the pistachio gelato wasn’t green either. I think it was white.
Bottom line, the girl behind the counter was super patient with my indecisiveness, but still served us with a smile.
Two yums up!

This review is for the service. The ice cream is great.
The girl working is the perhaps the rudest individual I have yet to encounter. She looked upset because I actually asked her to make me and some of my colleagues sundays. I mean this girl really looked at me like I was the devil. They should get self-​serve so people dont have to deal with her.

We are celebrating the first day of summer with a bowl of Frozen Yogurt. Well, at least I am. I don’t know about the rest of you knuckleheads!
This is the last of the San Francisco Tuttimelon location I have yet to gone. There are ample spaces with unique seating.
Unlike most of the other Tuttimelon locations, this is not a self-​serve location. The worker swirl our treat, which means a better and artful bowl of fro-​yo.
For $ 4.25, I get a small bowl of Vanilla Bean flavor with one topping in which I choose chopped kiwi. For some reason, the treat tastes a whole lot better when somebody else does the swirling. The Vanilla is sweet and creamy with a hint of the oily bean in the yogurt. Tuttimelon’s Vanilla Bean flavor is THE summer flavor of 2011.
It is a nice change when I don’t have to go overboard on swirling my own treat.

Because of my dad, I’ve recently been getting froyo for him from all around the city. While driving by West Portal, he had another froyo craving. Figured there had to be at least one froyo place in West Portal and sure enough, here it was.
The place is not self-​serve, but he girl working the counter was really nice and patient as we tried to decide what to get for my dad.
Deliciously yummy… we were all very happy. Everything we had was really good.

$ 1 for 3 toppings. SCORE!!! Haha. :)
Crème Brulee Gelato is heavenly.
And so is the lemon sorbet!

Tutti-​tutti-​fresh-​and-​fruity! Yummo for more desserts!
I am so glad to have found another fro-​yo type spot. My galpals & I happily stumbled upon this spot after dinner. They are a few measly steps over from Fresca (cool Peruvian restaurant).
The cool thing about Tuttimelon is they also serve yummy sorbet & delicious gelato! What a variety!
Loved Tuttimelon simply because:
*Friendly lady worker let me taste most of the flavors. Yum! She even used her humor & charm to get me to try a few more than I wanted.
*Gelato: Try Crème Brulee, Tiramisu, Coconut Almond Joy, & Pistachio.
*Sorbet: Do the mango sorbet, please!
*Definitely loooved the basic original tart (vanilla) w/​the good ‘ol fruit toppings & other fun fixings. Fresh slices of mango & strawberry, topped w/​almonds, coconut, & small itty bitty pieces of yummy white chocolate. My fave!
Bottom line: Do Tuttimelon. Your stomach will thank you. =)

The second Tuttimelon I’ve been to within a week… so a bit out of character. No matter, this time tried the Strawberry Cheesecake gelato and it was sweet, as in sugary. Not bad but felt shoulda stay with the yogurts.
Again, in West Portal Ave where only locals and regulars know how to get to. The layout is bright and clean, with lots of open space — good locale to have meet ups before heading elsewhere. But, there aren’t many tables (three?) for a group to hang. Wonder if that’s on purpose.

[W] I felt like this place wasn’t even done being built. I personally don’t like gelato but prefer ice cream instead. I just wanted to try it because it was a grand opening so… why not?
I’ve had better experience at other Tuttimelons with my girlfriend. Even though she’s mostly the one eating, the atmosphere is a lot better than the one here at West Portal. The yogurt was okay. I remember saying to myself «eh…»…seriously, it wasn’t that good.
[M] I agree with Wayne on that one. The service here wasn’t that great either. However, their Crème Brulee Gelato was really really yummy though. Tastes just like the one from Holy Gelato. Only exception is that it’s much more expensive here than at HG. We are sticking to our usual Irving and Chestnut locations instead!

The setup of this location should be re-​thought. Visually it’s not all that appealing and when you go to order, the yogurt is facing one way and the toppings another. The pricing list even looks haphazard and is quite hard to read. There’s also only three tables in the abundance of room the building has, which is weird and kinda annoying.
The actual yogurt is quite tasty, but the scoop-​able gelato is pretty bad and mostly the reason I disliked this place the first time. I’ve come back a couple times for the «original» yogurt and been much happier with the result. The punch card they give you is a nice plus as well.
If they got a better layout, axed the crappy scoop gelato and went primarily with yogurt they’d be five stars all the way. They even have enough room for many more tables and some good booth seating.
But as they are now, three is as high as I can go.

I have been to five Tutti Melons and this one was kinda dead. Where are all of the bright colors and the enthusiastic helpers. I like this location because it was close to all of the restaurants in the West Portal district.
This Tutti Melon featured four different flavors of frozen yogurt, gelatos plus the assorted toppings: fruits, nuts and candies. This was the first one to have the chocolate mint topping, a nice change compared to the almonds & peanuts.

So props to Tuttimelon because of the great frozen yogurt idea craze. After all, we love to treat ourselves to a little sweetness. But, they were lucky this time because if I wasn’t craving sweet, tarty frozen yogurt like a fat kid on a diet then I wouldn’t be as thrilled. Hence, 2.5 stars.
For one, I like the self-​serve concept. Like Icebee’s approach, you get to personally choose any type of flavored frozen yogurt & toppings that pop right out of your creative head. Thanks but no need for the middle man.
For second, not so much flavored yogurt & toppings to choose from. Where are the lychee, green tea & banana froyo?
For third, the counters & tables weren’t wiped clean. It looked like it’s been several hours before the next wipe down session. I was really hoping that they were short staffed that day
I’m sorry to disappoint all the Tuttimelon fans but I expected more after reading all the 4 – 5 star reviews. Wow… is it just Tuttimelon? or is it the location?
Please don’t throw your empty fro-​yo cups at me.

Whats not to like?
Rainbow mochi = good (the colors brings a party to my froyo)
Mangos = good & freshly cut
Tart = good. Not too tart but its not as «refreshing» as the Irving location.
I actually prefer going to this location than the Irving one because its bigger, clean and lighted.
Too bad the Irving one is the closet to my house so I wouldnt go to West Portal unless I pick up my bestie for froyo.

Their pomegranate frozen yogurt has stolen my heart and frozen it with it’s delicately flavored tart goodness.
THIS is how you want a flavored frozen yogurt to taste. Unlike other places that over sweeten their fro-​yo flavors to the point of diabetic coma status, Tuttimelon gets it right.
AND they get it right for less! The small was ginormous… seriously I felt like a pig but it’s the smallest size they had. For $ 3.50 it’s an incredible deal. The staff was pleasant and they seem to have some gelato selections available too though I didn’t partake.
Gelato is SOOOO 2008.
Remember in the 80s when frozen yogurt made it’s big emergence? Well, much like all the other 80s trends (cocaine, bangs, spandex, neon) frozen yogurt is back! And I’m so glad to live through it a second time.

Thanks to Fro-​yo girl I had to try this place out. This is my first experience that is NOT self serve. Not bad, but I would have liked more mango, that’s just me though. And for 95cents for the first topping I would have definitely liked more.
They are still having their grand opening special for 99 cents for the small original tart. What a generous serving of froyo! I’m more of a topping girl though.
This location is BIZZAY! They are right on the route of the Muni street car, next to numerous other restaurants and businesses. And tons of schools in the area. I think they could do very good business but not sure how long the froyo craze will stick. Hello kids can’t afford froyo all the time. The only other flavor they offer at the moment is pomegranate. There was also a number of gelato flavors, but I didn’t get to take a look.
A number of seating options, about 5 – 6 tables and bar stools along the window.
I’d definitely come back, if I were in the area, which isn’t all too often.
