This is my $ 50 gel pedicure exactly 10 days post appt. so not even 2 weeks/​14 days did it last. Pedis always last a month at the least and that with regular polish and this is gel which is more expensive and should not be peeling off on its’ own. And yet theres a 2 month wait to get an appt? Umm, no… Nuff said

This is the best nail place I have ever been too, and I grew up in a Solon. They do the best job I have ever had. I am a really busy girl with three jobs, including hairdressing and bartending. That means my hands are always in water or other chemicals, and I have no time so when I had no time to get a fill My acrylic nails lasted me over a month with out lifting or chipping.
The design work that they do here is incredible. I have brought in so many photos and they always exceed my expectations.
I am extremely picky with the shape of my nails (from all angels) and I have never had to say anything.
The vibe is so awesome in there, everyone is so friendly. Honestly I don’t think your going to find a better place in the city, trust me I have been to a lot.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! I am in awe of how much of a great job Vi and Cindy do. As far as I’m concerned, they’re the only ones who know how to do nails in SF. Every other salon I’ve gone to in town does clown work so I will only come back here.
Check their Instagram for inspiration design wise. Suuuuuch puuuurty nails but you better make an appointment because they are always booked. They’re also super awesome at calling you in case someone cancels and they did that for me when I was desperate and overdue for a fill in so I truly appreciated them squeezing me in!

Let me tell you why I visited Tootsie Toes and why I won’t return. A few friends get their nails done there and the Unilocal reviews. OK give them a try I said. Made the appointment online that was good. I showed up last Thursday on time at 2pm — both manicurists were busy and did not greet me (cough, cough) so I gave them a salutation and my name.
In a fairly timely fashion I was soaking my feet for the gelish (?) pedicure that went ok. Got a regular manicure for my husband’s birthday with some glitter. I was 2 seconds into leaving when she worked on another lady while I was soaking my hands it took much longer than the 2 mintues she said but she was charming.
Today 24 hours after the manicure– its peeling! And with sisters in law in town for husbands birthday I have not washed a dish or done any hard work with my fingers (thanks, SIL!). The nails were shaped uneven and the layers of nail polish is uneven and that truly sucks with the peeling. I have just added a topcoat to stop the peeling.
I had high hopes at that price range, 52 bucks for everything and 8 buck tip 60 total. I cannot recommend for the peeling unevenly shaped maincure.
I was there almost 2 hours for 60 bucks and a peeling maincure. Wah. Oh well.

5 stars for the pedicure, 3 – 4 stars for the french mani… averages to about 4.5 stars but will bump it up to 5 because I think there was still good attitude and service overall, and services are reasonably priced.
There is an older woman here who is fantastic and quick at doing nails! I used the mobile Unilocal check-​in and was able to get 2 free designs and chose to get flowers on my big toes for my (first ever) pedicure. It was a great experience and I am extremely satisfied. The design is beautiful and I would probably come back for a pedicure.
Unfortunately, I had my manicure next and thought it would go just as well. A younger woman did my french manicure and she did not seem as experienced — it took her a really long time and 3 – 4 of the white tips ended up looking uneven, but she still tried her best which I appreciate and took her time to fix them when I pointed it out. I then went to sit down and put my hands in the fan when she told me to, but it must have been too early or maybe it was the extra top coat she (well intentioned-​ly) put on — the white tips started spreading down my nail and ⁹⁄₁₀ of my nails had to be completely redone! This time the older woman who did my pedicure came back to do the second round of the french mani and she was much faster and kind of rushed through it while still doing a pretty good job. Some of tips are honestly still uneven but I understand that it must have been frustrating to have to redo my hands with a full schedule.
My total came out to $ 35 for a regular french mani and a pedi (saved $ 5 on the 2 free designs), which is definitely reasonable.
Be sure to book ahead of time since Tootsie Toes is extremely busy, especially with loyal and returning customers that do gel polish. If you are addicted to gel and love great immaculate designs, this is probably the place to go! If you are looking for a normal manicure, I am not sure if it is tons better than other nearby places or as big of a differentiator as for gel. Will have to try a few others to compare.

They do a really great job in nail. The reason why I come here to do my nail among other places in sf is because I am obssessed with their diverse nail design. They have their own instagram too. What I’ve done is to pick up ones and showed it to them. Very cute.

I had such a great experience! The ladies working were very nice, helped me pick out a design, and did exactly what I wanted. They made sure every nail was the same length and shape (I got acrylics) and took their time with the designs. The acrylics were prices higher than most salons, but for a good reason. This was definitely the best job I’ve ever gotten.
I also called the day before and they were able to fit me into their busy schedule. I’m definitely going back!

Before I use to just see anyone who was available. Now I’ve been set with vi. She’s awesome. Even when my nail broke a few day later from my own fault she had me come back and didn’t charge me to redo my broken arylic and gel.
This is my new go to place for nails.

A++! I’ve been here twice and these ladies know what they are doing. They are super clean in both the aesthetic of their spa as well as the sanitation of their work place and tools.
I’m always timid about going to a new nail place because I never know what to ask for (I like really fun, crazy, unique designs) and usually ends up disappointed because the techs don’t understand what I want or just do whatever because they don’t like my ideas. The girls here are awesome and we’re up to do some fun nails on me and even talked with me about what I wanted to do and gave suggestions.
I can tell they take pride in their work and take great care in every client that comes in. So glad I finally came in here after seeing so many woman with amazing nails come into my work.

This is my favorite place in the city to go for gel manicures. I came here on a recommendation from a friend who always has fabulous nails.
It is difficult to come in without making an appointment, but the owner will try to accommodate you if you call. She is passionate about her business and everyone who works here is very adept.
The place is clean, stocks a variety of colors from good brands, is efficient, and also does awesome nail art! You can check it out on Instagram @tootsietoessf. If you have something in mind just bring a picture and they’ll make some magic happen.

Tootsie toes is pretty amazing! If I had the budget to do my nails every week I would come here. However, it is definitely affordable at $ 27 – 28 for gel mani. Decided on the gel and got two free designs. This place is the only place I know of that specializes in pretty modern nail designs. The girl who did my nails was quick and efficient, even with the designs. Showed her a picture from Pinterest and she just knew what to do.
The girls who work here are friendly and funny. I’ll always remember my first experience here with a hilarious customer, and a girl whose phone shattered there. Fun times.

This review has been a long time coming. The reason I’m finally writing it now is because I’m moving to the east bay and I’ve trying to replace (I know terrible right) or at least find a spot in the east bay so I don’t have to commute. But this will not be the case, it seems like Tootsie Toes is going to remain my one and ONLY nail place and let me tell you why.
I have OCD, anxiety, and I’m new to getting acrylics even though now I’ve had them for close to 4 months now, so basically I’m incredibly fussy and tough to please. I’ve gotten my nails done by all three of the ladies at TT and they have all been on point. They helped me achieve the perfect «ratchet nails» (ridiculously long, coffin shaped, bright/​obnoxious nails) as V put it, and I’ve been happy and in love ever since. Getting plenty of compliments, as well as questions about how I deal with such long nails-​ha!
My secret is having these ladies do my nails bonded extremely well, with the perfect thickness and size. Looking at pictures of others peoples’ nails from the supposedly top salons in SF and all over the east bay, it scares me to even think of shying away from TT because I wouldn’t be happy walking out with most of those nails. My nails last for weeks and I’m terrible at getting them done on time, but that doesn’t matter because I had tips last for 5 weeks and be in impeccable shape all because of the skill level at this place.
They can recreate almost any design, and they’ll tell you what they can or can’t do and what will last longer and be straight up-​they WANT you to be happy and love your nails. I don’t think I’ll be leaving any time soon. A little hesitant to write this review and bring more people over though because they can get quite busy but they have a great online appointment system and usually don’t do walk ins. I love you Tootsie Toes. You’re mine.

I love Tootsie Toes! I saw their Instagram with all their awesome nail art and decided to give it a try before my vacation. I love my nails, I showed them a picture from one of their previous posts and they replicated it perfectly. The manicurist did an amazing job, and was so meticulous.
I will definitely be back here again and would highly recommend this to anyone.

Second time here. Found out that the Unilocal check-​in offer is only good for one/​first time.
Anyway, I came back because my first experience here was better than the average nail salon. They are still very good at keeping things professional (no gossiping in Viet about clients while they around), help make suggestions, give honest opinions about the nail polishes out there, etc.
I was slightly disappointed with the designs this time around. I wasn’t charged for my two designs because the foot/​leg massage was forgotten for me; design is fine up close, but it’s a blotch of silver from afar (which I will not upload a picture of since my toes are chubby — $ 20 for pedi). Also, I appreciate the honesty that she couldn’t apply my nail sticker, which was the main reason I chose to do a reverse French (aka moon design — $ 10) this time — that was another slight disappointment regard nail design (sigh). Paint job this time was slightly sloppier than last time, but is passable.
Like last time, I could feel some nail dust on the table as I stuck my hand in the UV light to dry my gel nails (and the light was reflecting off their table, so I was partially blinded). However, I will overlook that because one of the ladies there cut my ingrown toenail so well, I nearly didn’t feel it. It is practically impossible to find someone that good.
I would consider going back again, but with a «non-​3D design»…

Due to the lack of quality nails salons in south Marin I decided to look for a place in the city. It works w my lifestyle. I can stop after work on the way home or enjoy a Saturday in the city (maybe a little lunch …)
So pleased the reviews were right about this place. It’s easy off van ness.
My nails look beautiful. What’s more the product lasts and Vee (and the other ladies) are very talented and top notch in their customer service. If you want to personalize your polish this is the place.

Absolutely loved my nails! The girl who did them was friendly and when I showed her a picture of how I wanted my nails she had absolutely no problem executing it and even made my mani better than the picture I showed her! I loved her creativity (didn’t catch her name but it seemed like everyone who worked there was down to get creative).
I wish this place was open on Sundays and more convenient to where I live/​work!

Absolutely loved my experience at Tootsie Toes. I went after a referral from my cousin. I started following their Instagram and was amazed at the variety of nail designs they have. I made an appointment to go in for a shellac manicure on a Tuesday morning. It was clear to see how popular they are because within minutes of me walking in (5 min before they opened officially at 10am), the phone was already ringing off the hook.
My nails look absolutely amazing. At first I was getting worries because she let them sit in the foil acetone for a good 20 minutes. She kept saying to wait because it would damage the nails less than to scrape off the polish. I’ve never had a nail tech wait that long and it impressed me so much that she cared so much about the quality of my nails. After that, the manicure itself from start to finish was literally a blur. I was in and out in 30 min. And they are perfect. I was so amazed at Vi’s precision and attention to detail when it came to my nails. Best of all, their lamp for drying is a new OPI UV lamp that takes less than 1 minute to dry your nails so it was super quick. I will definitely be back and making Tootsie Toes my go-​to nail spot. Thank you Vi!

This place is a hit — had my first manicure/​pedicure today, they take their time, they do a great job and they made me so happy! 100% definitely recommend this salon if you have anything important coming up, this is the place to book!
