Tom Jue & Company

The power to our building went off this morning, and the fire alarm panel, which is directly across the hall from my apartment, woke me up with beeps every two seconds. Our building’s owner does not have an on-​site manager, so I called the number on the box myself at 0530. Tom picked up on the first ring (av result I did not expect) and quickly walked me through the steps needed to silence the alarm. Now I can try to get back to sleep before work (more likely, the alarm will wake me up again when it starts beeping again when the power comes back on, but Tom already prepped me on how to silence that alarm!).

Great experience with Tom this week. The fire alarm panel in our building started beeping at 9 PM on Sunday night, despite no real evidence of any issues. We stuffed a sock over the alarm and went to bed.
The next day my wife called the alarm service company that we’d used in the past, but they were unresponsive. She found Tom on Unilocal and he agreed to come over the same day after finishing another service call.
Tom took one look at our fire panel and immediately knew what the problem was, and got to work fixing it. Apparently it was a loose spring or contact in our fire sprinkler system, and it took him an hour or so to fix. He also did a complete inspection of our alarm system along with a report that we could present to the fire department in case they ever request it, and all of this at a reasonable price. Will definitely call Tom first next time.

As past President of our HOA –for several years we are very fortunate to work with Tom Jue for all our fire alarm issues. Words are not big enough to describe how absolutely professional, skilled, knowledgeable and courteous Tom Jue is. We had an emergency one Sat… when we called him he stopped by and addressed our issue. It is hard to find anyone more competent, more responsive and more respectful. Whoever works with him is lucky indeed! Thank you Tom for showing us what it means to be ‘competent, effective and trustworthy!’ You raise the bar several levels in San Francisco.

I just got off the phone with Tom Jue and Company. After quickly establishing that I did not need to get my fire extinguishers recharged by them (cheaper and easier to buy a new one) he still stayed on the phone to pass on some important fire extinguisher knowledge. I appreciate their honesty and well intended advice. I will definitely use this company when I have a larger fire safety project. Thank you!

We needed someone on short notice to come out and certify our fire extinguishers. Tom came out the next morning and certified the extinguishers I told him we needed, plus 7 more that we had lying around. He was fast and very friendly. Would definitely call him again for his services!

A malfunctioning smoke alarm system allowed me to find Tom Jue on Unilocal,and it turned out to be a lucky day! Tom, bilingual in mom’s Chinese dialect, proved to be worthy of his 5-​star status. Professionally, he was prompt, punctual, efficient, and familiar with both the code requirements as well as the Fire Dept personnel who oversee them. Personally, he entertained my 91-​yr old mom with engaging conversation and endeared himself cheerfully. We would not hesitate recommending him and would definitely call him first again! ;-)

Tom Jue installed and monitors the fire alarm system for my new 3 unit condo. He was hired by the general contractor so I did not hire him directly. Once the building was complete, there was a «false alarm» (by a 2 year old who turned a switch) and he was there almost instantaneously to check everything out. Also the fire alarm monitoring process has been seamless and efficient with daily checks to verify the phone to the fire station is working. I have had my building inspected by the city and the fire system passed without a question. I feel that Tom is a true professional in meeting code and operating requirements for a fire alarm/​sprinkler system.

I searched the Yahoo Yellow Pages for a local fire company that would recharge my mother’s rental building’s fire extinguishers and/​or purchase new ones. Tom answered the phone and was honest in helping me save money on recharging any fire extinguishers and suggested places to bring them in for an in shop recharging. Although he would do them, he gave options that actually turned business away to another company to save us money.
Well, he quoted us 3 brand new fire extinguishers to be delivered to my mother’s building at a slight discount from walking into the other shops to pickup.
