Thi Spa & Nails

So disappointing! Really wanted to like this place as it is close to my work and has a nice ambiance. I did a gel mani and pedi and paid over $ 100, definitely more than my usual place. 2 women worked on me and they were quick. I noticed after 1 week, my polish was lifting already, and by 2 weeks, it’s pretty much all off. I’ve paid way less and had my polish last way longer. I called the salon to ask about their customer service policy. She said she can’t guarantee gel to last longer than 2 weeks, but I’m my case it was even less! So just a heads up to anyone looking considering this salon. I don’t mind spending the money, but want the results to last!

Got my first Shellac polish here! And it lasted 3 weeks +!!! Great color selection! All the girls are very good!

I’m really surprised that there are such great reviews on Unilocal for this place. You can definitely find a way better pedicure experience elsewhere for cheaper.
We had a bachelorette party of about 7 people come in– had reservations and everything– and they left the bride-​to-​be as one of the last people they took care of. There were maybe 4 (3 to do the pedicures, one to do the manicures) people on staff at the location so if you do the math…
Everything was done so quickly that you would think this place is a quick on-​the-​go manicure/​pedicure instead of relaxing spa with excellent reviews. I think my pedicure took 20-​ish minutes when I’m typically used to an hour. Instead of a nice massage chair with bubbling scented water, they had sofas and bowls of lukewarm blue-​colored water. The massage was a quick rub and the lady who did mine kept messing with one of the nails to the point that it looked rough and unprofessional work.
²⁄₅. I’d recommend going elsewhere for a better pedicure.

Really great atmosphere, technicians give you attention and everything is very clean. However, I had a simple pedi and gel mani and paid $ 70.
While the service was nice, I don’t think it was worth $ 70 since I’ve had the exact same treatment done else where for around $ 45.
I lucked out with a walk in, but appointment is highly suggested.
Will not return due to ridiculous price for an average manicure.

This is hands down the best nail salon in the Financial District, if not the best in the city. Great quality gel manicures and spa pedicures. Everything is very clean and the staff is always amazing. I usually call before heading in to see if they have walk-​in availability which is usually never an issue.
Also, polish selection is pretty solid.

Worst customer service ever! I got a gel manicure here which the lady rushed through. So, the next day half the nail polish on my thumb was hanging off. The location is not convenient for me as I live in Oakland, so it took me 3 days to go back to get my nails fixed. When I get there, there are only 2 people in the salon and the lady says they can’t help me because they are booked and I should go to the nail salon 2 blocks away. I told her that for the $ 40 I paid for the manicure, they should be the ones to fix it and usually nail salons fix their work if they mess up. The lady then tells me that customers are coming in (nobody was coming in) and walks away from me. So rude! Will absolutely never go there again.

Excellent mani — lasted a full 2 weeks with zero chipping. In a great location and great prices.

This place does a wonderful job-​in fact the best main/​pedi I have had in SF and not a break the bank spot like so many San Fran stops. I have lived in San Francisco for 9 years and have frequented almost every spa, salon and nail stop in the city by the bay. Thi is great and I wish I found this gem years ago! This will be my new go to stop when in SF!

Great location. But since it’s upstairs and not on street level, it’s an ideal spot for getting some rest and relaxation. Call ahead to ask if there’s a wait. On a weekday there’s about 30 mins wait and I was happy to take that time to grab a coffee before heading in.

I wouldn’t give this place even one star! Adding to what my friend already reviewed about the shitty service and biggest attitude about making a small change, my gel nails started to chip on day three, and 9 out of 10 peeled off by end of the first week. I was on vacation, which means I wasn’t doing any excessive hand washing or alcohol gelling as I normally would at my job. I usually can maintain my gel nails for 2 – 3 weeks. My lady started rushing on doing my nails when another customer arrived, and probably skimped on a coat of something to make everything stick better and longer. At last, she didn’t even smile or say thank you when we paid and tipped (10%) for their awful service. RUDE! I don’t recommend this place at all! Worse mani experience ever!

rude rude ladies! came here on a quiet Sunday and my friend and I got gel manis. My girl kept making mistakes and was taking forever to fix them. There were bubbles all over my nails. my friend asked her lady to make one simple change and she just redid one of her nails with the biggest stink face! and when we were paying, we gave them a low tip (as deserved) and we didn’t get a single thank you. Great way to treat your customers. If you want rude and inexperienced ladies doing your nails, then this is the spot for ya.

This was my second time at Thi nails. We had a group of 5 for pre-​wedding nails. They did a great job, relaxing environment. We were seated right away. Pricing is fair for the area.

It’s fine for a manicure place that is not too fancy. The pricing is pretty standard too but really you could get a more quality manicure job for the same amount of money.

Frankly — a 20-​digit-​YES for Thi Spa & Nails.
As an American living abroad, one of the first things I do when I arrive on American soil is exchange all of my wallet’s random currency to USD, roll around in Target like a dog that’s been reunited with its long lost owners and then get my nails done. Getting one’s nails done is the ultimate luxury and convenience and doing so in the birthplace of both of those elements is a treat. Not just a treat, a must. You have your priorities, and I have mine. Manicures and pedicures. Let’s do this, America.
A pal and I were on the search for a relaxing afternoon manicure/​pedicure menagerie — and after a few calls (thank you Unilocal app!) I was on the phone with Thi Spa who encouraged us to come right over. Within minutes we were seated in plush chairs, feet in silver bowls of soothing hot water, light streaming in, magazines in hand. Ahhhhhhh, bliss.
The women started with us right away, and the whole experience was really flawless. Great color choices (both regular and shellac), nice treatments, calm atmosphere.
This is definitely in the mid-​tier of nail salons, with prices to match. It’s not ultra high end but it’s far above the cattle call nail centers at street level where they jam in 42 massage chairs and the entire place smells of glitter.
Think I found my regular standby for nail services in SF, would definitely return.

Very clean. Excellent gel manicure. Perfect cuticle work and gel application was flawless. They fit me in right away. Very kind ladies working there. Environment quiet and peaceful.

Love this place! Great service and manis. I’ve been maybe 6 – 7 times and every time the result is great. I have short nails and they deal with it. The lotion they use smells amazing and it’s not stinky CVS lotion. It’s pricy (40 $) for a gel mani but super relaxing atmosphere and everyone is really nice.

The salon has a clean and relaxing vibe. The nail technicians are very personable and detail oriented. I enjoy every visit.

Did not notice anything like the other reviews. The staff was sweet, attentive, and the work was good quality. Got an appt. On a Sunday w no problem. Was walking in union square and found it on Unilocal.Decided to try it despite the negative reviews.
$ 98 for a mani, pedi + 30 min foot and 10 min extra on hands.
I think the prices are in line w sf prices for quality level. The staff seemed to know a lot of the customers which is always good. I get a mani pedi every 2 weeks and have tried them all. Def a good place.
Will be back!

Extremely overpriced for what you get, which is just about the bare minimum. I can get the same thing for ¹⁄₃ the price at other great nail salons. The extent of it’s care is a few lemon slices and mint leaves in your luke warm water bucket, all purely for decoration.
Also, I’ve been trying to grow out my nails for a week and yet she insisted on cutting them, I only wanted slight file… she ended up cutting all the white away, despite what I asked.
