Don’t get a viet Sammie anywhere else in the FiDi! Be prepared to wait a bit during peak lunch hour but it’s well worth it. I always get the BBQ pork sandwich for only $ 3.75. The bread is always fresh even though they’re premade and reheated in a toaster oven. It is crunchy on the outside but the inside is always soft and soaks up the BBQ juices and pickled veggies just enough. Be aware of the large jalapeño spices in between the veggies! Other than that I can’t complain. Quick and easy lunch. Pick one up and enjoy at the ferry building facing the bay bridge

Its a great, quick and cheap meal. Sandwiches are pretty good too ! $ 3.75 for a banh mi sandwich in SF? Cant beat that! Its super affordable and probably the cheapest meal around. However, they run out pretty fast on most days. You can catch them there Mon-Fri, but once he sells out. He packs up and is out!

This review for garlic noodles only: Noodles dry and greasy. Boring ingredients(just noodles and meat of choice). Everything is pre made and microwaved upon ordering. Nothing special

I never tried their food. I went there 3 times on but they were out of rice and I didn’t want a sandwich. It hardly was 15 min past noon those three time! Very disappointing. Get more rice!

We all love the food here, plus it’s super affordable for us working class. However, they aren’t there every day. The schedule posted on Unilocal is not accurate. PLEASE post your schedule and when you are not there.

tl;dr: The $ 2 I saved by getting my BBQ pork sandwich here instead of the shop across the street was not worth the subsequent gastrointestinal agony I experienced. As far as taste, the sandwich was merely passable. The ingredients aren’t very fresh because they prepare the sandwiches in advance and then stick them in the microwave, veggies and all. Part of the reason I enjoy these sandwiches is the juxtaposition of hot and cold and soft and crunchy, but you won’t find that here. Beyond that, the bread tasted like a Wonder bun, and the pork was low-quality and fatty. I had to bum some Pepto Bismol off my boss about an hour later. It’s cash only, they’re only open on weekday afternoons and if you think your stomach is strong enough, just keep in mind that you get what you pay for.

I have selfishly avoided writing this review for some time in hopes of not creating a longer line and more demand for my beloved BBQ pork sandwich. Tragically, I am moving offices soon so this concern is out the window. This is the best bahn mi I’ve ever had, and my favorite lunch in the Financial District, bar none. It is also the most affordable — at $ 3.75 for a sandwich, or $ 5 for some fresh spring rolls, you can’t go wrong. Pork sandwich comes with meat, pâté, carrots, jalapenos, cilantro and probably other delicious things I am forgetting to name. They toast it to order so it is warm and crispy for you — despite all this, and the sometimes long lines, it is also very quick. I’ve never waited more than ~5 minutes total. Only downside is they are small and when they run out of an item, you’re out of luck! Get there on the earlier side.

Pretty good, especially for what it is and for how cheap it is. A little stand with only a few food options, but warm, good flavor, and won’t come close to breaking the bank. I had the BBQ Pork Bahn Mi for $ 3.95. They were out of Sriracha and jalepenos and napkins, but it was a very hot day so I’m sure they were just busy.

Their fresh spring rolls are big for $ 5 and I like that there are no bean sprouts. Wish the tofu wasn’t fried but the shrimp always tastes fresh. Unfortunately, they are almost always out by 12:30, which is supremely annoying.

BBQ pork sandwich. $ 3.75 Yum. Except for the part that I bit into the jalapeño I wasn’t expecting, this was a perfect sandwich. Cheapest lunch is downtown SF ever.

My go-to lunch spot! Can’t beat $ 3.75 for lunch(in FiDi nonetheless!). Food: BBQ pork sandwich is my favorite. I’ve tried the chicken sandwich but I prefer the pork. I think it’s more flavorful. It’s got really good pickled veggies and cilantro as well, and the bread is crunchy. Plus, they toast it for you so it’s nice and warm :) Note: They pre-make the sandwich before lunch time so you can’t tell them to take out the jalapeño b/c it’s already in there. No big deal, I love everything. If you don’t, just simply take it out when you eat it. I’ve yet to try their other selections, but I will soon. People: The couple that runs the business is always smiling and they are so kind. I love supporting this family business. I believe cash-only.

$ 3.75 for a good sized Vietnamese sandwich. What. A. Steal! I got the special ham today. Good amount of pâté. Bread is toasty and not dry. The owner is super nice and the service is super fast. And my sandwich is still warm after I got back to the office! Will definitely be back to try the other goodies!

This is the best secret in SF. $ 3.75 for the most delicious BBQ pork bahn mi. They have a special microwave on the street powered by a generator that heats them up to the optimal temperature. They should give this place a Michelin star. The service is top of the line as well. I eat here at least once a week.

What a pleasant surprise to be able to get a delicious, filling meal for less than $ 10 in SF! I came at 12:30ish on a Thursday and there was a short line that moved quickly. I waited less than 10 minutes for my food. They have a condensed selection of Vietnamese sandwiches and other Vietnamese dishes. I went for the sandwich and spring roll combo with a soda. The amount of food was a little more than filling for lunch but I continued to snack at my desk while I worked. The special ham sandwich was delicious! Comparable to Huong Lan’s in the South Bay. Good flavor with a good amount of pâté. The combo spring rolls were excellent too but the ratio of lettuce to noodles was a little off(too much lettuce). No complaints about the food and I will definitely be coming back!

Simple sandwich stand that is great for Vietnamese sandwiches, spring rolls and garlic noodles or rice plates. If you order their sandwiches, which is great during peak lunch hours and only at an unbeatable $ 3.75, they serve it out to you in a jiffy! Not the best Vietnamese sandwich that I have ever had, but it hits the lunch spot. Line moves quick and cash only!

LOVE this place. Their BBQ pork banh mi is honest to god the best banh mi in the financial district for the price. I’m the kind of person who obsessively follows banh mi trucks on social media and walks and/or drives way out of my way to find good banh mi places, so I’m super picky when it comes to how they’re made. These ones are pretty legit. Not the absolute best I’ve had, but unlike a ton of other Vietnamese restaurants I’ve tried in the area, this place gets everything right: 1. the pork is real, marinated, seasoned BBQ pork(not nasty deli meats or pulled pork) 2. the carrots and daikon are perfectly julienned(not chopped into chunkier pieces) 3. carrots and daikon have been marinated long enough in the vinegar that you can actually taste it 4. there’s a perfect amount of cilantro and jalapenos 5. baguette is crunchy and a good size(could be a little crispier, but not at all bad and the sandwich is about 7 inches) These sound like«no duh» steps to creating a good banh mi, but you’d be surprised by how many liberties the restaurants in the FiDi take with the sandwich recipe. I’ve tried about 5 – 6 different Vietnamese places in search of a good, consistent banh mi, and this little food stand is the only place I’d return to over and over again. Some notes: cash only, and banh mis are only $ 3.75. All banh mis are pre-made and are reheated in a toaster oven — I know, I was suspicious at first too but they manage to come out hot, crunchy, and delicious every time without wilting or burning the cilantro at all. Line gets long real quick around lunch, but they do a great job of moving you through quickly. The owners are also super, super friendly.
