History

Established in 1980.

The Organic Wine Company, importer of these unique wines, was founded in 1980 by Véronique Raskin — one of the pioneers of the organic wine movement. Born and raised in the south of France, deeply in love with her ancestor’s land, the Domaine de la Bousquette in the Languedoc region, Véronique is committed to offering wines that are pleasurable to drink and respectful of the entire chain of life.

We make sure that our wines are all made with certified organic grapes and we are proud to offer to our American friends a very large collection of Vegan wines, made with certified organic grapes.

Enjoy the journey with us and be a part of our eco-wine community. Your exploration of our wines will be a rewarding experience. You will have the opportunity to connect with the pioneers of the organic wine movement and contribute to it in a meaningful way.

Welcome aboard!

Véronique

Meet the Business Owner

Veronique R.

Business Owner

For more than 200 years, my family has grown grapes and made wine on our St. Chinian property, Château Bousquette, in the South of France.

In 1970, my grandfather, decided to devote his «Golden Years» to the family estate. He studied and experimented, seeking better, healthier ways of growing grapes and making wine. In 1972, he began cultivating our 50 acres of vineyards organically.

Long discussions with my grandfather, and my own dedication to the well-being of the earth, inspired me to act as ambassador for organic wines., In 1980 I founded Organic Wine Company, thus importing the first French organic wines into the United States. Meanwhile, my brother took charge of the family property, making our wines andto life the region’s Organic Growers Association (AIVB).

I am proud to promote and provide the best quality one can hope for when looking for a wine with body (its structure), heart (its maker’s pulse) and spirit (its connection with Nature)!
