Josette and crew, and their spaces and projects, are smart, innovative, stylin’, fun, sweet and utterly non-pretentious. And they do a hell of a lot of good. This is a cleverly-designed, well-thought-out, inspiring place housing a foundation that showcases art and innovation while revitalizing a formerly burnt-out, shut-down, blighted corner of the Tenderloin. My words don’t do it justice; have a look at the brief video below for a quick overview of the amazing magic GAFFTA’s working. Aside from all that: it’s fun. You can show up with a large Sapporo or flask from the liquor store down the street, smoke, do backflips and cartwheels too. Just don’t tell them I told you.

came here for a fashion show a few years back, love the space it’s amazing. it has a high ceiling and there is a dj booth while theres a section across from it that has stairs it leads from the main space to the top from there you can over look the crowd. then they have a really clean bathroom, a bar space which is AWESOME! cause they have tons of room if your keg isn’t to big. its just really spacious. Stairs can be kind of creepy through, they creek or well used to when i was here 2 years ago.
