*** Excellent way to stimulate your yuletide juices. ***
SMUIN Ballet has presented this Xmas show since ’95.
I saw it tonite and loved it — especially Act II in particular.
It got me into the Xmas spirit somehow with it’s avante
garde use of dance w/​some very popular musical hits:
«Santa Baby» … Eartha Kitt
«Blue Christmas» … Elvis
«Drummer Boy» … Lou Rawls
«I Pray on Xmas» … Harry Connick Jr
«Xmas in New Orleans» … Louie Armstrong
«All I Want for Xmas is You» … Mariah
«White Christmas» … Bing Crosby
and several others as well.
The finale, performed to Bing Crosby «White Christmas»,
had faux snow falling from ceiling to stage and audience.
Nice touch. Their creative choreography for this act was
whimsical and uplifting. Now I feel like watching a dvd of
Jimmy Stewart «It’s a Wonderful Life» & buy some gifts lol.
