We work collaboratively with a vision to establish lifelong relationships with our clients. At the Atashi Rang Law Firm PC, we focus on (i) estate, tax & business planning and (ii) estate, probate, and trust administration. We provide customized plans, for every stage of life, counseling-​based legal strategies, and legal representation for our clients. Our team consists of Amir Atashi Rang, Amir Sarreshtehdary, Sofiya Feerer and Amanda Ewing-​Rice.

Amir Atashi Rang is the principal of The Atashi Rang Law Firm, P.C. in San Francisco. He works closely with his team to bring exceptional service. He is a Certified Specialist, Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law, State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Atashi Rang is an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University LL.M. (Taxation) program and has served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Taxation Section of the State Bar of California. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Santa Clara University in Political Science and French, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, his Juris Doctorate degree from UC Hastings College of the Law, and his LL.M. degree in taxation from Golden Gate University. Mr. Atashi Rang is a long-​time Bay Area resident and an avid tennis player.

We were looking for someone to help us put an estate plan together when we were expecting our first child and were referred to The Atashi Rang Law Firm by our financial advisor. We met with several estate planning attorneys in our search and were thrilled to work with Amir, Sofiya, and Amir. We met with each one of them at different phases of the process. I wasn’t sure how this would work, but it was an incredibly smooth process. Each one was able to pick up right where the last person left off. I worked with Sofiya, Richard and Amir at Atashi to set up a revocable trust /​estate plan for our family. The team was great — very thorough, very knowledgeable and reasonably priced. Once we got our documents together the whole process was pretty seamless and they were great at explaining pretty complex terms to us. Also, the end result seemed much more thorough than other estate plans I have seen. Would strongly recommend them!

Service with these guys was spot on 5 stars! I found them through Unilocal when looking for an estate planning attorney in the city. Sofia assisted me in planning my estate, she was a pleasure to work with and very detail oriented. The best part is that they are part of the ARAG program so nearly everything was covered. I did have to pay some small administrative fees that weren’t covered but they were nominal in contrast to what the service would have cost without ARAG. Overall I am very happy and would refer my friends and family to them.

When my parents were looking for an Estate Planning attorney to assist them in getting their affairs in order, I knew we were going to have to find a Russian-​speaking attorney if we were going to really be able to honor all of their wishes.
We were ecstatic to find that one of the attorneys at the Atashi Rang Law firm spoke Russian! Sofiya helped my parents understand the implications of their decisions as well as kept their personal goals in mind while guiding them through the process.
She responded promptly to emails and inquiries and was extremely accommodating. At the end of the process, my parents were left with an estate plan that they feel completely comfortable with. This gives them and myself peace of mind which cannot be overstated.
We also met briefly with some of the other attorneys in the office, including Amir. They were all competent and extremely pleasant to work with. I would absolutely recommend their services.

Not only do I know Amir Atashi Rang personally I have dealt with him professionally too. This law firm attended to my mother’s estate and will documents after my father passed away. His team made everything as easy as possible as my mother has mobility problems. Sofiya, one of the firm’s associate attorneys, even came to her house and made her feel both comfortable and assured that what was being prepared was the right thing to do. This law firm deals with the most unpleasant of all legal realms; what’s going to happen when a loved one passes away or becomes incapacitated. They do it with respect and discretion. This is the firm you are looking for! I can’t rave enough about the Atashi Rang Law Firm. I found out I was a successor trustee and needed help. I was referred to the Atashi Rang Law Firm for an estate plan by another attorney who provided me with excellent consulting during my divorce a few years ago. I was fortunate to see they were also covered by my voluntary benefits program through work. In short, they did an excellent job. I worked with multiple attorneys (Richard, Amanda), and it was clear that information and my needs were shared between them clearly. Their final product met all the needs I spelled out in my initial questionnaire. Everyone I worked with not only knew the technical ins and outs of estate planning, but paid close attention to detail, wrote and communicated clearly, treated all my questions and suggested edits professionally and seriously, and was very easy to work with. If and when I have an estate plan update or other legal need, I will go back to this firm. They took care of all the benefits program billing, coordination with the City, and other ancillary services exactly as they said they would. There were no surprises or issues. There’s nothing worse than hiring a high-​priced attorney, only to have to spend tons of your own time having to correct/​re-​do their and their paralegals’ work… these guys were the exact opposite. I was looking for an ARAG-​network attorney and found this firm in the Berkeley parents network newsletter. It seems this firm may be good for *complicated* estate plans (as testimonies seem to reflect), but may not be willing to work with smaller or more straightforward ones.
We asked for Amir to provide legal review of a document that another attorney billed us 3 hours to create. It wasn’t worth his time — which is fair — but it would have helped me to know that he will turn down jobs after some discussion if they are smaller (less than 16 hours at $ 395/​hour) for no apparent reason other than the scope.
Again, this is fair, and his choice. But it might help other prospective clients (and him, actually!) to have this better understood upfront.

Amir is a wonderful attorney. He takes the time to listen and get to know the needs of your family. He explains everything so you can understand. If you need a will, trust or other estate planning needs he is by far the best. I work as a financial advisor and have worked with several attorneys over the years. My husband and I felt we could trust Amir from the moment we met him. We set up the initial consultation with him and were convinced that he was a lawyer that we could trust. He has your best interests at heart and truly works to ensure that you understand the options available to you and process along the way. His rates are extremely reasonable from other firms that I talked with and he doesn’t push a «one size fits all» product on you. He also worked with us on payment terms since we were finalizing our kitchen renovation at the same time.

This is my first review but one that I feel commited to sharing. My husband and I were dragging our heels in making a will but knew that we were idiots not to take care of business. We have children who are dependents and even though our first attempt was a disaster, we still had to forge ahead. We needed to take care of those that we love and not leave everything that we have earned for the State of California to consume.
I found Amir Atashi Rang via Unilocal in a roundabout way. I called another lawyer listed on Unilocal who had previously worked for Amir. He answered the phone (early in the morning) and the rest was history. I knew immediately that we had found our «Lawyer». But having been stupid before, we went downtown and met him (my intuition is not enough).
He is smart, kind, warm and informative. Making a will and trust is very stressful but Amir walked us through the maze. We sign the Trust at the end of next week. I feel confident if something should happen to us, our family and friends will be able to benefit from the work we have done with Amir.
There were no hidden charges, he walked us through each phase of the process. Our designated trustees can rely on him if they need help.
