Thalia Farshchian, ND

I went to see Thalia for postpartum related issues. I found her to be friendly but not very professional. She took blood the same day I went in and told me I’d need to return for the results and the prescription. I had just given birth to twins a couple months before and was very stressed, to say the least. After the blood results came in Thalia was adamant that I come in to discuss the diagnosis rather than discuss on the phone. This was fine but I told her I could only stay a short time because I had to get home to my babies, she said ok. When I got there and sat in her office she was digging through books looking for proper ways to diagnosis me, she wasn’t ready for me at all and I had to sit there and watch her thumb through books to give me information that was pretty pointless since all she needed to do was write a few notes down before I came in, call in my prescription and let me me get back to my babies. My assumption is that she wanted the office visit dollars, which is fine but be ready for clients when they make the time to come in!
I think she was really insensitive to the fact that a) I was postpartum and totally unhinged which I told her about btw, and b) unprofessional with the diagnosis.
Her prescription did help but I wouldn’t recommend her to any other mother going through the same thing. She doesn’t or didn’t have a clue about how stressful new motherhood is even though that’s exactly why I was there. Hopefully she’s gotten better at dealing with patients since I had my visit with her over 2 years ago.

Dr. Thalia has renewed my faith in medicine! From our first consultation I could feel that I was in passionate, caring, and well-​studied hands. Dr. Thalia is thorough, insightful, and precise in her work. She is a rare find in the world of healthcare. Never before had a Doctor asked me such specific questions about my body, mind, and heart. Her ability to evaluate my health from a truly holistic standpoint was remarkable. She made herself more available than any Practitioner I’ve encountered as well as provided reliable resources and trusted referrals for anything my health goals required. A relocation on my part concluded our work together but now I feel as if we are old friends. Dr. Thalia Farshichian delivers the kind of care I would wish for my whole family!

Dr. Thalia is a great resource and inspiration. Her and her staff are upbeat, professional and efficient. I’ve been living with a serious health condition for several years and finally decided to try a more Eastern and holistic approach to address my autoimmune disorder. (Western medicine is great at treating symptoms but not great at stopping or finding the root cause of them). With Dr. Thalia’s help I’ve been able to pinpoint some main triggers for my flares and correct the underlying issue. It’s been wonderful having such a supportive, intelligent and compassionate doctor who listens, takes the time to understand me as a whole person and offers great treatment and advice. I wish I had chosen this route so much earlier in my life! I’ve been seeing Dr. Thalia for about a year and am feeling much better physically, more in control of my health/​life, and hopeful that I can continue to live symptom free. I’m grateful for the useful knowledge regarding recipes as well, as I’ve become a much better cook! Since I am also in the health field, it is super important to take care of myself and I’m so glad Dr. Thalia has helped me do this. I highly recommend her.

I’ve seen 3 naturopaths in San Francisco, all with 5 star reviews, and none of them have compared to Dr. Thalia!!! She was incredibly through, looking at my symptoms from multiple angles before diagnosing me. She has a vast knowledge of both eastern and western medicine and came up with a treatment plan for me that blended the two (something I’ve struggled to find). I’m so happy to report that she was able to figure out what was causing my symptoms and correct what I’ve struggled with for years. I feel like a totally different person than when I first walked into her office 6 months ago! It also didn’t cost me a fortune like previous practitioners have because she didn’t just push a bunch of supplements on me, but really took the time to understand what was going on. I’ve seen her now at least 5x and every time I’ve also been so impressed with her office staff. The over all energy of the whole practice is very up beat, positive, and professional!

I am so greatful and glad I made the decision to go see Dr. Thalia. I had a few things going on my thyroid and I had an ovary cyst. Its been a little over 4months I have been on a treatment plan and all my tests are looking great and no more cyst. I must igmit I trust Dr. Thalia more than I trust any Doctor. She is full of knowledge, answers all my questions and is delight to work with! I am thankful to her and appreciate what she has done for my health.

In my profession I have a lot of one on one client interactions and most days I get a handful of people personally referring me to service providers they love. Usually, even though I have the best intentions and completely take the recommendation seriously there just arent enough hours in the day to be able to follow up on them. But when a client told me about Dr. Thalia, he was so enthusiastic about the health results he was seeing after working with her that there was no way I was letting this one slip through the cracks. I was on the phone making an apt within the hour and its the best client referral Ive ever taken.
I have a major insurance provider and am pretty accustomed to being in and out in thirty mins, usually sent to a pharmacy with a prescription in hand. So the first time I saw Dr. Thalia I could not believe how much time she was taking with me. It sounds like common sense maybe, but I remember thinking, this woman is acting like she cares. Like she *personally* cares about whether or not I get better. She is so patient and explains why you feel the way you do and how your body is reacting to your lifestyle and of course, what to change.
But my absolute favorite thing about her is sense of humor and realistic outlook on how to balance her recommendations with the stuff you’re just going to end up eating because it tastes good and may be worth a head or stomach ache the day. I love that. I can be pretty flakey when it comes to my own health unfortunately but I never feel judged or lectured when I need to start over on a diet or have to admit that Ive forgotten my supplements all week. She gets it and her only concern is getting me back on track without making me feel like a bad person for falling off the gluten wagon… again =) If youre thinking about going to see her, just go.

I am beyond grateful to have found Dr. Thalia. After many years of digestive distress (and many unsuccessful visits to other doctors), one visit to Dr. Thalia helped me immensely. She listened attentively, took copious notes, and explained very thoroughly the problem I was having and how to correct it. I am so happy to finally feel normal again! She’s amazing.

I worked with Dr. Farshchian for months in SF and got results! She was so friendly and intelligent. Overall a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend her. She helped me set a diet plan and tracked my results in a way that worked for me. I have since moved to Boston and I still work with Thalia!

Dr Thalia is very kind, easy to talk to and understanding. She goes straight to the point and brought us answers/​new solutions for my husband’s Crohn’s disease — which was still not under control after 5 surgeries in 2.5 years. We completely lost hope and saw numerous doctors who could not help us due to the severity of the disease. Dr Thalia’s versatility and wide knowledge proposed new tests, supplements and a complete and detailed new diet plan for us — which is working!!! We are seeing the light thanks to her and we are so glad that she is part of our lives. She also is so compassionate that she sent him a card for his birthday. She is the one who found the way to bring my husband’s disease to remission and I am using her advice as well for a better life. Definitely the best doctor around.

Dr. Thalia has changed my life for the better in the past year. I have struggled with digestive issues for many years. I was given many acid reducing prescriptions which only made me sick. Dr. Thalia found many food allergies, balanced my hormones and eliminated yeast in my system. I am excellent health thanks to Dr. Thalia. She is compassionate, knowledgeable and willing to spend the time to find the source. I would recommend her as a health partner.

I have been seeing her for close to two years and she has helped me tackle multiple issues from minor hormonal imbalances to a recurring war against candida overgrowth. She has been the ultimate resource with something feels like it is not right, and she has inspired by making me realize that making health a part of daily life will inevitably bring a happiness. I highly recommend! I have been struggling with a hypo thyroid for several years. My GP had put my on medication that regulated the levels but I still had many symptoms, the worst being my hair falling out. After meeting with Dr. Farshchian, she ordered several blood tests that I had been trying to get my GP to order for years, as well as additional tests. Because of these tests we were able to discover that I had a specific type of hypo thyroid disease and treat it more effectively. Dr. Farshchian made appropriate changes so my «western» prescription and added natural supplements to my régime. For the first time in years my hair has grown back, i don’t have to do weird parts to hide «bald spots» and its thick enough to wear a pony tail again! I am so glad that I went to her for assistance as I was starting to believe I would just end up bald (and I’m only 30!)

I’ve seen Dr. Thalia for intravenous nutritional therapy during a particularly stressful part of my life. I was impressed with the results of the plan we came up with together. She really went above and beyond what I expect out of a doctor. I would highly recommend her.
