Here on A Tuesday night. They were advertised open until 1 am on their business hours but closed 12:15 as I was admiring the menu. They even had the gal to tell me they were closed as I stood in the doorway with several customers still seated inside. They embarrassed me in front of my guests after I raved about the great service at restaurants here in the city. The staff was unapologetic as they walked right by me & my guests. In North Beach you do not expect much but this is a severe. I have lived here 15 years and never experienced anything like it. Does a restaurant really expect to stay in business when they treat the locals so poorly? There are plenty of other Thai restaurant so I will give this one a pass. I’d rather cook my own Thai food at home than suffer rude treatment from a staff of would be immigrants that think they are better than the clientele they serve. And decide to skip out on their neighbors without so much as a word of explanation.

Being a regular here is great… the owners are really friendly and the service is always good. Having made the mistake that the other reviewer refers to(about the overly spicy food) once, I tried some other things, and found that ordering the curry is not a good idea(it’s always way too hot) but that the noodly dishes are incredibly satisfying! To round off a perfect meal at Thai Café, order Tom Ka Gai as a soup starter, and finish with Kao Niew Moon for dessert. The soup is flavorful and a little spicy, and the dessert is the most interesting kind of sweet and tastes great after a little bit of spice in the entrée. Feel free, also, to ask for no spice in the soup or in any dish… sometimes a little gets in anyway, but it makes a big difference to those with sensitive stomachs.

now called Thai Café bright décor very spicy food, even when you ask for medium. ordered one curry at medium and one noodle dish at hot. poor bf had hot(which he usually gets at other places) and couldn’t finish it, he also felt a bit ill afterwards.
