My boyfriend and I stopped here on a whim while playing around in China town, and I am glad we did. I am a huge boba person and really liked their assortment. I had a Thai tea with boba and it was good but not sweet like I would have liked, I honestly did not finish drinking it. The bf had a mango chiller which he really really liked… *he kept commenting on it alot* I almost thought we had to go back for another one. The staff is super friendly I think that we will have to make this a new stop Keep up the great work.

Cash only and the main reason to stop here, as others have pointed out, is that its on the way from the park to our favorite Dim Sum and Meat Market in China Town(both are right next to each other). We love Boba tea and Ten Ren Tea has a nice selection of decent teas. Nothing amazing, but quick and refreshing on a hot day.

Lovely, just lovely! I discovered Ten Ren’s while trekking uphill from the massive H & M store. I was delighted to find an assortment of healthful bulk teas and a cozy ambiance with an authentic Asian feel. I enjoyed being served various teas samples before committing to a purchase. I ended up with a box of the Relaxing Tea, which was great. I liked the cultural exposure I experienced at Ten Ren’s and I’ve ranked it higher than any of the ordinary touristy San Franciscan«attractions». In my book, it’s was the substance that mattered & being able to learn a little more about the art of taking tea, firsthand.

I’ve tried a lot of those boba shops and I must say Ten Ren is one of my top, if not my top shop. Tea here is fresh and healthy and their grass jelly and boba, yumm. I always go for the deliciously simple black tea with grass jelly and if I feel adventurous then I’ll add the boba too. Why not a 5 star? Because service can be better. A smile will definitely bring this review up. but I’m under the impression that their way of keeping people coming back for more is with the good drinks they make, not the great service that they can provide.

Simple menu, with decent prices. About $ 3 for a small and $ 1 more for a large size. My sister got Thai tea, because you can’t mess up Thai tea… But this location did. The lady didn’t put a lot of ice, which usually is good, except it was super hot out. She put in a lot of tea, more than ¾s of the cup and then put in condensed milk. It wasn’t sweet do my sister requested more sugar. She poured in a sugar water mixture but it didn’t help and my sister ended up tossing her drink after drink ¾s of it. We also ordered a mango green tea, less sweet and I think everything was premixed. I didn’t see her add any mango syrup in but my sisters BF said it was pretty good and drank the entire thing. This place uses a lot of syrups, you can see them next to the cash register. Just stick to their teas and you’ll be fine! I ordered a roasted oolong milk tea and it was good. Not too sweet, but it did need more ice. I enjoyed my drink while walking around China town.

My milk tea tasted watered down and the pearls were way too mushy for freshly made tapioca. I make a better bubble tea than this authentic Asian tea shop.

This is a cute, clean place to grab a delicious drink on a walk through Chinatown. We tried the Jasmine Milk Green Tea and a few others. Prices were reasonable. Store is well organized with clear menu options and they offer free tea tastings. Much better than many of the surrounding options.

This was like a fast food boba drink place. I got an Almond Milk Tea Boba drink, which was overly sweet and I’m not even sure if it was made with milk. I ended up throwing away the drink after a few drinks. Servers were pretty straight forward, bordering rude.

This place serves one of the worst milk teas I’ve ever had. The tea had more bitterness than fragrance to it. I expected more from Ten Ren since I’ve been to quite a few of their other locations(not just in SF). Was the tea strong? Yes. Unfortunately, I couldn’t taste the fragrance of the tea itself… just its bitterness. Good milk tea usually shines in this area where the natural fragrance of the tea cuts thru the taste of the milk and sweetener that it is mixed with. Disappointing…

Nothing special. I got the white peach bubble tea. It was pretty heavy on the sweetener. When I went to pay, the worker told me they only take cash even though they had credit card decals on the storefront entrance. Gave it 3 stars only because drinking a bubble tea in Chinatown was something on my SF vacation to-do list

The best milk tea I’ve had! I had a black tea milk and my husband had the jasmine. Both were outstanding. The tea was nice and strong, no artificial powders here. It really makes a difference. The boba were soft and chewy without being mushy. Perfect consistency and nicely sweetened. I don’t know how I’m going to go back to standard boba shops after this! I saw after we went that many Unilocalers reported that it was cash only. We paid with a credit card. There was a .50 surcharge for the convenience, but fear not if you didn’t bring cash with you.

Fast service, fresh drinks! I ordered a regular oolong milk tea with pearl. $ 3.00 total. Good price! You can taste the freshness of the tea. I will come here again with family.

I LOVE the Ten Ren in Milpitas. It’s my favorite boba place ever. But the drinks at this location are eh. I got the jasmine milk tea which is my go to drink at most boba places. It was kinda diluted and the tea flavor was not there. There was barely any flavor at all to be honest. The pearls were made perfectly though so it saved the drink a little bit. I was disappointed as I was expecting it to be on par with the other Ten Ren locations.

First thing: CASHONLY!(It’s Chinatown, what do you expect). Ordering and service is pretty quick, which is a plus when you want a drink while you explore parts of SF. My favorite thing to get here is MILKBLACKTEA W/BOBA. The tea and milk combo tastes amazing! What I would expect from a milk tea. I think ten ren has a more stronger tea flavor than other MT places nearby. The price is slightly higher than others but I feel like it’s what you get for a quality tea drink. They also have a small shelf with tea supplies if you are interesting in purchasing some for brewing at home!

TenRen is a nice place to come for a nice cup of tea. There is a good selection of about 40 to 50 different kinds of Chinese teas. The staff is friendly the location is nice and the view of the gardens in the back is enjoyable. There are two floors and plenty of room to sit down relax and enjoy a cup of tea. There’s nothing on the menu as far as food goes but for a little break it’s nice. I enjoyed the pu-eh tea. I think for the money it would be nice to have actual cups to sit down and enjoy tea with instead of to l-go recycleable cups. The only reason it’s not five stars because I just wasn’t blown away. Still, I recommend it to anyone looking for some high-quality Chinese tea.

They have Ten Rens over in my area so I was excited to see that they had one while I was visiting San Francisco! My favorite is the lychee green tea with jelly(and no boba). The price was very decent for a large as well. Customer service wasn’t the greatest or the nicest but at least my drink tasted good.

I find that the main reason that people end up here is that they’re stuck in a line for Golden Gate Bakery and then decide to parch their thirst at Ten Ren. Ten Ren is a pretty popular chain, though I found this location to be on the meh side. The drinks are decent and will quench your thirst for sure, but it’s nothing to die for. This location uses a ton of powder which is what really bothers me. I want actual tea, not powdered and artificial flavorings! When you watch them make the drink, you can literaly see how much powder they dump into their drinks oh lord it’s disgusting. I got a honey green lemon tea which was certainly good but at the end of the day. it’s all artificial yo tldr; okay tea but super artificial flavoring

I expected more from Ten Ren. The almond milk tea($ 3) was way too sweet. Eddie W. is right– the almond flavoring was too strong. I felt like I was drinking almond-flavored sugar water, since I didn’t taste any tea at all. Also, they make the drinks in less than a minute, because they have all these pre-made containers of mystery liquids that they just pour into your cup. Who knows how fresh the tea is? The only plus side is that $ 3 for milk tea is really not bad nowadays. And they have a frequent buyer punch card. Cash only.
