Taste Catering & Event Planning

We chose Taste catering for our wedding this past October. We had already been to a different catering company and it didn’t seem like a good fit, so Christopher at Taste was wonderful enough to fit us in their schedule.
When designing our menu they put together a wonderful afternoon to taste of all of the possibilities. We also had their design team put together all of the florals the design of the tables at the reception.
They have a whole team to take care of everything you could possibly imagine. I was especially impressed with Cheri in the design department. She was able to make wonderful suggestions and come up with an outstanding design. She was also so warm and friendly through such a stressful process.
During the wedding there were a few misses that we had requested. We had requested a certain number of tiers on the cake and it was off, also the set up of chairs during the ceremony were not placed correctly. I had also requested to have my own server throughout the evening and did not have that. However these were details that in the final draft of the contract we had missed ourselves. So my suggestion is to check a million times over if certain details are really important to you.

We had such a wonderful experience working with great professionals. They have been around for a long time and definitely know how to coordinate a wedding. All of our guest said it was the best food that they had ever experienced at a wedding, and I know we would not have been able to do such a special day without them!

Ok, first I’d like to say that it is absolutely ridiculous and absurd that I haven’t written yet. Second, I’d like to say that a Taste Catering SF delivers at a quality that is unparalleled and is, unequivocally, the finest caterer in the SF Bay Area. Finally, I’d like to say that it truly was an honor for both us (as a couple) and our guests to have you cater our wedding. Thank you for doing such a splendid, mouth-​watering job!
To this very day, I still fantasize about the tasting and the food at our wedding (crazy, but true!) My biggest regret is that our photographer failed to take more photos of the food and that our wedding planner failed to collect/​deliver leftovers to our hotel (beyond heartbreaking!)
Again, our heartfelt thank you to Shannon, Hayley, Billy, Alex, and the rest of your team for a job well done. It truly was marvelous! We are so grateful for it all.

Taste provided the best food of any of the weddings I have ever been to. Of course I’m biased since it was my wedding, but all of my guests agreed with me. We got married at San Francisco City Hall, which is one of the trickier venues in the Bay Area. Shannon helped us with all of the organizational details and made the day run perfectly. One year later, Christopher offered to give me a dessert platter with our wedding desserts for free, so that I could surprise my wife! They are not inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. When it comes to Taste catering that is quality and experience.

I attended a wedding in Napa 5÷15÷15 that was catered by Taste Catering. The food was amazing. I would highly recommend them for any future event. Each course was more delicious than the last, it was the best meal I have ever eaten. I intended on taking a photo of each course but only managed two pictures because I was so wrapped up in the moment.

Taste took care of basically everything for our 150-​person garden wedding. Christopher was everything we needed in a point-​person: responsive, helpful, upbeat, and organized. He was extremely sensitive to the particular needs of our family, and from our first interaction, it seemed as though he could make anything and everything work. This level of courtesy and professionalism is what one would hope for and expect from any high-​end catering service, and yet the other company we were considering utterly failed to deliver this.
What really made the team extraordinary, though, was the tremendous day-​of staff. The whole catering crew did a tremendous job making sure everyone was fed, that the place looked spotless, and best of all everyone appeared to be HAPPY. I was amazed when I saw the photos that every single staff member in the background was smiling!
Thank you Christopher and Taste, you all have an excellent team and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone and everyone!

Working with Taste made our wedding day flawless. After the venue selection, our 2^nd priority was to chose a caterer and I can’t express how happy we were to have them as our caterer. Starting from the beginning proposal period, Shannon was helpful in keeping our budget in mind, yet still giving us a one-​of-​a-​kind culinary menu. Then going into the planning period and our wonderful tasting experience. Shannon and team made the whole process easy since we didn’t have a planner. We used Taste for their catering, desert bar, alcohol, and drapery services, although their capabilities go above and beyond that. Chris stepped in when Shannon was off on maternity leave and he helped execute all of our wishes leading up to the big day.
I would get married at least 5 more times to experience the appetizers again. We had the crab bisque, pork sliders, poke, fish tacos, and filet mignon all in the perfect bite size. For dinner we had a buffet to keep it a little less formal, and to wrap it up Taste did our desert bar as well. Shannon and Chris made sure we had a plate of the apps ready after our photos and they also assigned a server to us all night who did not disappoint. I could be bias since it was my wedding, but feedback from our guests confirm that Taste was one of the best!
We were 100% satisfied with our experience with Taste and their professionalism to make our wedding day not only flawless, but stress free! I would recommend them to anyone having an event in San Francisco if you want the A Team.

After interviewing a number of high-​end caterers in SF, I chose Taste to cater my wedding at the Asian Art Museum. I’m a big foodie and it is my ultimate wedding fear that the food at my wedding will suck like so many banquets, bland rubber chicken or dry fishy fish anyone? It isn’t easy to cook for 150 people, especially at a venue with super strict load-​in/​load-​out timing. Taste won me over with a tasting that rivals any good restaurant in SF.
I asked for Asian/​Latin fusion and they customized a truly creative menu, including gems such as Koji beef tacos and ahi tuna in crisp seaweed cups as appetizer. The closer was the dessert buffet, truly amazing, including miniature eight treasure rice cake for my Chinese heritage and white chocolate tequila pops for his. Outstanding personalization with execution to rival any fine dining establishments in this food centric city.
After interviewing a number of SF florists, I went with Billy at Taste for his understanding of our modern but classic vision and his creative interpretation of my ideas, talk about value addition!
Christopher and Hayley at Taste are a joy to have on my wedding team and the final result truly blew me away, above and beyond my expectation in every way.
I received an over-​whelming amount of compliments on the food and décor from wedding guests gushing about everything for weeks after the wedding. I literally cannot imagine a catering company doing any better than Taste.
Certainly, they were not cheap, but very competitive in its class. I recommend Taste 110% and cannot thank them enough for delivering perfect food, service and floral design. Weddings are stressful events, you want a professional team that knows how to deliver under crazy circumstances. Don’t hesitate, you are in good hands with Taste!

I worked with Curtis on my Mom’s 60^th surprise birthday party. He was excellent! Curtis was very patient, kind and honest.

We had Taste cater an 80-​person party with full bar and passed hors d’oeuvres. Wayne helped us craft a menu and guided us in making the right decisions on number of staff, finger-​friendliness of the food, etc.
On the day of the event, Anthony and his crew showed up. They set up in the garage so as not to impede the flow of guests through the house, and put the bar out in the garden. They did an awesome job — the food was great, the service superb, and everyone was friendly and very professional.
For our next event, there’s no question about shopping around for someone else. Taste is the best!

My review of Taste Catering is a bit overdue. I was highly impressed with the various hors d’oeuvres/appetizers that were provided at a relative’s wedding reception. The service was extraordinary and superb, and the employees were top-​of-​the-​line professionals. They were very approachable, answered questions and even allowed me to take photos of what they were presenting.
I’m a sushi addict and did they have plenty to offer. I also enjoyed to my heart’s delight the filet mignon lettuce wraps, chicken on a crispy ridge chip, miniature pork banh mi sandwich, and the salmon/​crab sushi roll. Even the desserts were wonderful… heavenly and delicate were the crepes a l’orange caviar and decadent chocolate ganache (with an essence of Grand Marnier). Bubbly pink champagne served in champagne flutes and wines served in their respective glasses. Water with lemon twist served in water goblets.
Overall, I was oohing and aahing at their presentation and I am quite sure all the wedding guests were also doing the same thing… the oohs and the aahs… of a catering business who does things with class and a touch of elegance. C’est tres magnifique!
Many thanks to Hayley Seed and the employees of Taste Catering for making this occasion so memorable. This wedding reception was the best that I have ever attended. Y’all did not bomb, but you sure were the «bomb». How I wish I could have given your business a double five star for being «simply the best, better than all the rest», as Ms. Tina Turner would sing.

Taste Catered a cocktail party reception for us on 4÷12÷13 at a very unusual location (No kitchen facilities) in San Francisco. Our guests loved the food! It was fun and inventive. Very professional and friendly staff. Their pricing and billing was straight forward with no unusual mark ups. We highly recommend them.

Taste Catering was one of the vendors at a recent party I attended. I can not speak to their prices or what it is like to work with them. I CAN tell you that the food was delicious!
The chicken sandwich with specialty chips = yummy!
Macaroons and salty, chocolate caramels = DIVINE!
So, so, so delicious. If they had a permanent restaurant, I’d totally eat there.

Great healthy lunch options with a friendly staff.

A M A Z I N G ! ! ! From start to finish… absolute heaven and worth every penny (no joke) I had to host a holiday party for my company. We’re still rather small but big enough that going to a restaurant for just dinner didn’t seem like a good option.
Anyway, I was referred over to Taste from Lunar Design and OMFG I’m blown away. Curtis was my event manager and he was more than patient and knew exactly what I was looking for. He asked all the right questions and followed up with me to make sure things were set up properly. He sent over the menu and when I compared it to the other caterers menus, we HAD to go with Taste.
They were in 2 hours before the event, stayed out of the way when needed and were there RIGHT when you needed something. They were on point for everything. I didn’t have to lift a finger (even for non catering related stuff). They followed up and gave warnings for the courses (so I could prep the guests to be ready for them) and really paid attention to the flow of the event.
Everything was flawless. Presentation was beautiful and the level of professionalism was incredible. This was the my first holiday party for my company and Taste, you guys made me look GOOD.

If you want fine dining for a private setting with super attentive servers and bartenders, a full event manager and catering manager, these guys are top notch. I’ve had catering done before but never like this. These guys have pretty much ruined it for anyone else. (for me anyway)
Also, their apple tart (something or another) TO DIE FOR. I will be dreaming of that dessert for days…

Taste catered our wedding this past month and they were absolutely stellar. Everything was on point. The food was fabulous. The flowers were gorgeous. The staff was very kind, friendly and took care of our guests. Kudos to Yigit Pura of Taste Catering for bringing the Top Chef Just Desserts crown to San Francisco. I have to admit, I have a bit of Yigit Fever. For our office holiday party we did a dessert pot-​luck and the winner got an autographed headshot of Yigit. Taste was their agent were very gracious to fill my off-​the-​wall request, and cordial in doing so.

taste has a food stand at the ferry building farmer’s market. i just had two dolmas with brown rice and lamb shoulder with tomato chutney and a side of tomato/​cucumber/​olive/​edamame/​feta salad. the dolmas were delicious and surprisingly very filling.

I cannot say enough good things about Taste. I hired them for a client event /​cocktail party at Varnish gallery. There were there, set up, ready to go before I even arrived. Plus — they asked ME what else they could do to help set up — and happily agreed to help fold 150 t-​shirts. Food was amazing, presentation and service was great. They asked me to identify the VIPs for the night and ensured they got impeccable service; touches like that really set them apart from other caterers. I would highly recommend…

Oh, Taste! You’ve ruined me for all other caterers. You set an impossible standard.
Seriously, I’m not really ruined. There are lots of other caterers I like. But Taste consistently delivers excellent food, lovely presentation and elegant service.
I recommended them to my mother-​in-​law who hosts lots of little events for friends and family (my bridal shower!). And she’s been using them for every party since. And though my personal party budgets don’t allow me to hire Taste, at least I get invited to my MIL’s to enjoy all the deliciousness!
