Established in 2012.

Sweet Sprout’s service aims to provide users with gently used children’s clothing and gear but also features a place for community blogging, owner-​run stores and most importantly, the ability to give back to charities. Research has shown that one in five families is struggling financially and Sweet Sprouts hopes to help families remedy this problem.

«I created this site because I had a child that was outgrowing his clothes so quickly, I couldn’t keep up,» said Molly O’Kane, founder. «There is a growing need for families to use the Internet to save money and have a place to talk about the needs of their children and their communities. This is why Sweet Sprouts is so important.»

Sweet Sprouts came about from my own personal struggles and the clear struggles facing other moms. For my son JT, I got many onesies 0 – 3 months, however I discovered that we were lacking 9 months old clothing. Many of his items were worn once or not at all. He is only a year old and he has already outgrown six sizes. Many of the moms that I know have tried Craigslist, Ebay, Thred Up and local consignment stores, but the demand of any age is too great and often metwith unsatisfactory results. (They grow so fast! It’s hard to keep up!) Three reasons safety, time, and high fees. This is where Sweet Sprouts comes in.

I wanted to create a forum that would not only support local families but also the community. We offer opportunities for mom & Dad entrepreneurs to start their own stores through Sweet Sprouts, as well as giving back to the local communities you care about.
