Description

Specialties

The cost of a slice of our in house made cake is $ 6.50 per slice and has been for nearly 3 years. Most folks who come here will tell you it is nearly large enough for two. We are a locally owned café working hard to help keep the neighborhood a neighborhood. We are people who care about community and welcome feedback, even the mean spirited stuff helps us understand how we can better ourselves. We are not an internet café though you are welcome to use our WiFi. Please come in sit for a bit and enjoy our offerings.

History

Established in 1981.

This is a locally owned Mom N Pop home made dessert Shop, open late. Michael and Wendy took over in June of 2011 and have been working to revitalize the place. It is a comfortable place to sit and socialize or to hold a meeting or party free of TV, advertisements and too many laptops. While we do provide free wifi, we are by no means an internet café, and have limited outlets for customer use. The holiday pies are off the hook, and we recommend you preorder to reserve yours as soon as you can. They are flaky, scrumtuous and addictive! Whole cakes, full service catering and private parties are all available as well. Please drop by and see the rotating community art on the walls or to catch one of the many local free performing art shows!

Meet the Business Owner

Michael and Wendy C.

Business Owner

Michael Colter has extensive food, beverage and events background from working with Real Restaurants, Nice Venture groups and many catering companies in the Bay Area. He spent 5 years as the Director of Catering for Moscone Convention Center, the past 10 as GM of the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, producing 300+ concerts and special events. He left to pursue a dream of owning his own café. His love of food, the desire to see people fed and happy, the love of music and a setting where people can relax and unwind with friends is what inspired this move.

Wendy Mogg ran a Catering company then took a 25 yr detour into Deaf Services She always loved direct service work and creating events for people. Ready for a career change, she leapt at the opportunity to reinvigorate the Café with her friend. She brings with her enthusiasm, a joy of food and service and her business acumen.

They can both be seen daily at the counter, repairing and sprucing, in the kitchen, or under paperwork.
