Sunrise Nail & Facial

This is my go to nail salon. The massage chairs are great, the gel manicure lasts me 2 – 3 weeks, the ladies are super nice and they always take me as a walk-​in. They have so many colors sometimes I find it hard to choose, but they are always patient with me and are happy to show me how they look on me.
Also, they always give great foot/​leg/​arm massages!

I’ve been getting my eyebrows waxed at this place since I was roughly 13 or 14 years old. I’m now 20 and I still go here for my eyebrows and every time they do exactly how I like it. I’ve done more things here and I am amazed at how well they do their job. Ask for Anne for waxing, she’s the best! And today I decided to try to get a gel manicure and Mai did my nails, I am so glad I did (Note: This was also my first time getting my nails professionally done, I was nervous but glad I just decided to do it) because she shaped my nails very well and even if my two nails on my right hand were chipped, she still managed to make them look flawless! I’m obsessed with my nails.

This place is a hidden gem! I am quite klutzy and gel manicures usually last me a week, week and a half at best. Mai does such an incredible job that my gel manicures now last up to 3 weeks. Strongly recommend!

Longest lasting gel manicure I’ve had in SF. My nails are longer and stronger than they’ve ever been naturally. So glad I found this spot.

I walked in to this place because I saw an open door and an «Open» sign. The lady asked if she could help me. I asked for a mani/​pedi. After consulting with someone in the back, I was informed that they were closed. She said they close at 7pm (and yes, it was 7:05). So I said, «But there’s an open door and your sign says open!» They asked me if id come back next day. Of course, I declined. If you’re closed, close your door and turn off your huge neon sign that reads: OPEN. It’s pretty basic. I feel I should have been served anyway because the fault lies with them.

I highly recommend Sunrise Nails. I am a happy client of 5+ years and continue to go weekly for mani/​pedis.

I went there for more than 3 years since it’s close to my place and it has been an ok 3 stars place.
I have been a bit disappointed lately due to a little change of their attitude. But my last experience was just so awful that I will never return and advise people to try one of the many other places around before going there. Unless you like to be treated very poorly after being a regular customer… When I last went for a mani pedi, I was asked to sit in the broken chair (I guess they need to make less effort with their regular customers). Then they didn’t ask me to pick my colors and instead tried to make me accept the old red nail polish they had in their basket for both my feet and hands… When I refused one of them became even more rude. They barely did anything to my nails before starting to paint and then dumped the water they had used on my fingernails into the tub with my feet, splashing my pants. There was obviously some tension in there due to something unknown to me… A moment of relaxation became a stressful and unpleasant time. I usually go there for the eyebrow waxing and even that, I wouldn’t recommend since it seems like just a couple people there know how to wax and if you don’t know who… good luck. I give that one star for the two people who have been ok all that time. So long Sunrise! I prefer to pay even double price of this place to have better service with kinder people.

I’m absolutely disappointed. I came to this place for the first time about 5 days ago, I came in for an acrylic full set. They’re work is absolutely disgusting, 3 nails already popped off themselves & not to mention the rising of the nail is dreadful, the color seems to be fading away. Ugh, I am very unpleased with their service, first & last time I’ll ever visit this place. Smh.

I have been going to Sunrise Nails for years and decided to write a review. The owner is very sweet and so are the other employees. If at times they may seem unfriendly, it is because of a language issue. Everyone here really wants to do their best and to make sure the customer is happy. I love the massage chairs, spend extra time in them while I catch up on all the gossip from the magazines. Give them a try. The prices are good, my mani pedi always looks great, and it’s really relaxing!

Ask for Ann for a B wax and you will thank me for it :)

Great selection of gel nail colors. The employees here are so friendly. I recommend paying for an extra 10 minute leg massage because it is awesome. I never wait when I come here and love that two girls will work on me at once (that’s what she said).

Solid but nothing special. Bright and very clean space. Pedi was a little painful, and I felt abandoned after she set up the fan. I had to wander around until another women noticed me for payment.

DONNA does the best, least painful Brazilian wax! I have paid WAY more to be tortured at trendy salons. Donna is friendly and cheerful and she gives a little «pat» after each strip. The slight pressure overwhelms the pain reaction, so she can keep on going! LOVE her and I’ll be back.

The only nail salon I’ll go to in the city because they’re just smooth. Some +‘s:

You get what you give couldn’t be more true about this place and I’m not talking money because the real attitude I get from this place is from SOME of the ladies who patron here.

The WORST I’ve been to. Got acrylics and was given attitude the whole time. They gave me thick LONG disgusting acrylics though I asked to have them cut.
I told the lady they were too long as she was doing my nails. She said «not long. medium.» So I said ok so they are still long. But she ignored me and just wanted me to get the hell out. She actually burned my pinky with the gadget that’s supposed to smooth out the nails (that electric swirly filer thing). Also, I had glue on my actual skin afterwards.
I hated my nails. I looked like a low class hooker with those awful looking joke nails. Not sure why I tipped. Came back to LA to have all the sides chip off within days. Went to get them off within a week and the girls at the LA nail shop told me it was a good thing I came in bc I would have had fungus ASAP since the nails weren’t even glued on properly. So ya, I would NOT recommend them. They are really very bad and not nice.
Cost: $ 23 + tip that I was dumb enough to give, then i had to take the nails off within a week, so that was an extra $ 5 plus lots of time wasted.

I always get great friendly service every time I go. I do gel manicures regularly and with the work I do it really lasts a long time, so needless to say total happy face!
I also only get my waxing done here, I feel really comfortable with them. If you know what type of waxing I am talking about!!!

I’m still digging this place and go here frequently. However, there is a new employee (an older gal) who did a very sloppy and hurried job. I didn’t even bother with the mani.
Update ⁹⁄₁₂ The sloppy jobber has left months ago. Sunrise is still awesome!

I needed a break from writting papers and a pedicure desperately. This place was close and cheap!
Well you get what you pay for! ($ 23 mani/​pedi.)
No one filed at shaped my toe nails! I was to distracted by the trashy magazine to notice until it was too late. Also no buffing at all! Zilch!
Avoid avoid avoid!

Utilitarian waxing and nail spot for those who want the basics for not a lot of money.
No nonsense Brazilians – quick and easy and no plucking. Girl’s good. Get rid of it all for just $ 25.
Pedicures come in at $ 18, and they are quality. Pick your paint then relax with trash mags in the automated massage chair. Cheap bliss.
