My chiropractor recommended a massage after one of my visits and my regular guy was out of town, so I called Greg back for a recommendation. He suggested Salvatore. WOW!!! What a life changing recommendation. He is truly a gifted masseur and healer. I never miss my monthly appointment. His energy is addictive. I have been seeing Salvatore for over 2 years. I directly hold him responsible for my improved health and for helping me to avoid further Medical «procedures» on my neck. Salvatore is a blessing from heaven when it comes to understanding the body and healing. I’ve been dealing with pre and post disc fusion, labrum tears and hip/​back issues for a couple years now.

My chiropractor referred me to Salvatore a few years ago when I had some issues with one of my legs, and again in 2011 when I was recovering from a bicycle accident. I see him on a regular basis for bodywork.
Salvatore and I work extremely well together. He asks the right questions, and I find it very easy to communicate to him about what is going on. Once we’ve figured out what needs work and if there are any limitations, Salvatore goes to it. He can work areas very hard if needed, but he knows when to ease off when that is called for. He’s just great, really.
Also, Salvatore is extremely reliable about confirming appointments, not double-​booking, and then showing up for appointments. It might seem like a small thing, but having had several bodyworkers over the years who were flaky, it’s great having one who is not. Very pleasant, comfortable office space, too.

I happened upon Salvatore 4 – 5 years ago by chance and man am I glad I found him. What a difference it makes when someone knows what they’re doing.
I have structural lower back issues which cause my muscles to compensate. Long story short, I get tied into knots rather regularly. Salvatore is the only one who knows how to fix me. His hands are able to read what’s going. He can find all the knots without me having to say anything. He’s amazing. This isn’t simply a feel good massage though. He gets in there and works. If a job calls for some pressure, he can bring it… for real. I told him after one massage that I felt like I had been on an epic journey. The process of releasing all the knots and tension and pain was transformational.
Just over a year ago, I purchased one of his 10 session Deep Tissue Structural Biology massages. He designed a series of sessions that met the needs of my body. Each session focused on a different area that was out of synch and needed to be realigned and brought back into balance with the whole. At the end of the series I felt like a new person… like I had my body back.
It’s not often that you find someone so passionate about what they do, with such a generous warm heart, and the ability to work magic. I can tell Salvatore truly cares. The energy and heart he puts into his work transforms.
I can easily say Salvatore gives the best massage I have had anywhere in the world. So glad he lives in my back yard.

This guy is a miracle worker, plain and simple. After I endured a painful herniated disc a few years ago, lower back pain became a significant recurring problem in my life. I have been going to Salvatore for many years and he is one of the best massage therapists I’ve been to! He knows what he is doing and always helps my body feel better. I was referred to Salvatore by a friend of mine upon suffering from lower back pain and a shoulder injury.
I have been to several massage therapists/​Spas before and was unsure what to expect on this particular occasion. Salvatore specializes in a form of massage that I was not entirely familiar with. I was apprehensive at first, but my pain needed to be alleviated and Salvatore came recommended so off I went.
The location could not be beat. The office is within a couple of blocks off the MUNI subway line and on every major bus line in the heart of the Castro.
The space itself is small but clean and the atmosphere is spa-​like. The rooms and the bedding are quite comfortable with plenty of space to conduct massage.
The real star of the show here is, of course Salvatore, his intake process was thorough without being overwhelming and his explanation of my injury and chronic back pain made me confident that he knew what he was talking about.
Once the massage begin however, it became apparent that Salvatore is in a league all his own. Having been to several massages prior I had an idea of what things should feel like and what pain vs discomfort really was. Salvatore expertly maneuvered around my pain points while ensuring that I received a thorough and proper massage.
When I asked for more pressure, Salvatore remained connected to my body movements and reactions throughout. He was able to read them so as to give me more pressure without over doing it. In the end I left feeling relaxed, a little taller and all my pain points reduced.
For me the hallmark of any body healer is their ability to apply their craft on the individual they are working with along side all of their previous experience and special needs. I, like most people, would not turn over the care of my body to just anyone, especially since they can do more harm than good.
In the hands of Salvatore I have experienced genuine healing. He earned my trust on the first visit and I’ve gladly been back since. I’d recommend Salvatore to anyone wanting to either relax or work through some kind of injury. Salvatore’s years of experience and open ease of communicating will put your doubts to rest.

Salvatore is A-​MAZING! For anyone who likes his/​her massage to be deep, deep, deep, he’s the person to go to. He sits you down, listens to what you need to get worked on and does his magic. He’s very professional and doesn’t do unnecessary chit chat so you can just close your eyes, relax, and enjoy the massage. He pays close attention to what your body needs and he finds little knots and kinks without even telling him. On top of that, he has a very soothing voice that makes you want to just melt away with that tight muscle he’s working on.
If you’re a dancer, athlete, or just simply active, you will definitely love him! He’s helped me through several injuries and could feel the difference in my joints pretty instantly. Oh yeah!!! He goes as deep as you can take it. By the way, ask him about the gold star ;-)
Seriously, I heart this guy!!! I’ve been going to him over the past 3 years and not once have I been unsatisfied. I always leave with a big smile on my face. He’s worth every penny! He makes me feel so damn good, I want to just give him my whole savings! Of course that would mean I’d be living off of ramen!

If you’re wanting a spa experience, then this is not the place. But if you want an amazing massage that leaves you feeling like you’ve just been in an 1.5hour meditative state; then this IS your place.
I have two different types of massages I prefer from Salvatore. One is a structural massage. I like to have this if I’ve had an intense week of lifting and running. He really loosens up the sore muscles and stretches them. I can be a little uncomfortable at times, but you feel amazing afterwards. That dull pain from doing a blow-​out chest work out from last Tuesday is all gone.
The next massage is a complete relaxation massage. I have a very high stress job and I’m constantly on the road or on a plane. This massage take all of the strain out of my shoulders and neck and relaxes my lower back. Also, it’s amazing how much my writs pop and crackle whenever he releases all of the «mouse» tension.
Salvatore is awesome. I highly recommend him for those who are really focus on health, fitness an life balance.
