Strategic Staffing

I contacted SSI as part of a shotgun approach job search, but got personal attention I didn’t expect from Adam Finch and everyone else I interacted with. I can really see how «consumer reviews» is a real raw deal for staffing agencies like theirs. The reality of their work is that they just can’t get a job for everyone. 19 out of 20 people they interact with won’t be the best fit for any open position. I think it’s super important to remember that going in, and I think that in terms of getting clear communication and responses to follow up emails SSI stands out as «one of the good ones» for this job searcher.

This place is a joke. They keep telling me interviews are moved every week and are very unreliable. I send them emails and never hear about any positions. I worked with Darren and I won’t be working with this company again they do not find people jobs.

I am sure these guys do get people jobs. I just found the entire experience in working with them very unprofessional. I dont care if its friday dressing jeans just does not work for me. Your in the financial district. They only care about the bottom line making money for themselves. They dont take an approach of really helping you find a job. They are working for their clients not for you. I worked with darren and Adam. I will never use them in the future.

I moved to California, from Missouri, in August. Beforehand, I researched every recruiting agency in the Bay Area that I could. Mike Weaver was the first to respond to my Midwestern resume, and told me he looked forward to meeting with me.
When I finally made it to the West Coast, Mike was the first interview I had. We discussed my background, my salary «requirements,» and who I’d like to work with. I also had the pleasure of briefly meeting with Gerry Morales. All this was on a Tuesday. I was working two days later!
The Strategic Staffing office is warm, welcoming, and just downright awesome! Mike and Gerry are true professionals, and just gems to work with.
If you’re seeking part-​time or full-​time work in the SF area, I suggest Strategic, hands down!

And, yet another worthless agency. I’d been registered with them pre-​2000. They’ve been through turnover since then, of course. They were very helpful in the early years for me. I can attest thay have not placed me at all within the past 6 – 7 years after repeated, periodic/​yearly calls to several of their recruiters. Even recently, you send in an revised resume and your availability, they won’t even acknowledge you, don’t give a crap about you in today’s economy. Gerry is one of them and Mike is the other. Sure, meet them and they’ll give you lip service about calling you when something comes in. B.S. They are NOT amazing recruiters, the gal below must be high on something to have said that. A friend of mine who had worked there can attest that the place is run by a bunch of **peheads (literal sense). They like to present themselves as a different, cutting-​edge, artsy recruiting firm but it’s all false. I am relating from true experience. Go somewhere else. Don’t believe the 5-​star reviews.

Had a call from Gerry who wanted to me to fill out an employment application. He wasn’t calling about my working as a contractor; he called me about being placed at one of his clients.
Fill out an application? That’s clerical staffing office thinking; real recruiters wouldn’t care.

They helped me find a job right away. And I’m very grateful to them. Make sure you give them your time cards on time! I had gotten my stuff stolen and lost the other one they gave to me (very bad week) and I should have been more careful. But nonetheless I am happy they were able to find me something that I like. Gerry and Michael are really awesome guys! And I don’t know what else to say to further appreciate them but, they have helped me when I thought I there was nothing for me. They rescued me!

I send them my weekly availability emails and I’ve never heard one peep from them after the interview. They didn’t even return my call last week. Boooo.

I applied online at around 6pm.
I got an email from Mike Weaver at 9am the next morning asking me to contact them to discuss a job offer.
I went in to fill out paperwork and interview later that afternoon.
Their office is friendly and very welcoming. And they have 2 sleepy giant office dogs. I love that!
Gerry Morales and Mike Weaver really have it together and are very honest about the kind of companies they work with. If you don’t want to be a nameless face in a giant company, use these guys!

While helpful for about a week, after this honeymoon period, SS ‘does not have anything available’, ever. They require almost constant contact to even get a whiff of any possible temp openings and seem to have gone through a lot of recruiters since summer 2007, so something internally may not be so great either. [all but 3 of the people were new when I came back this summer to look for work!]

I have called them and submitted a resume multiple times. They always «misplace» my resume and whenever I call, they huff and puff and sigh, as though I am asking them to work way too hard –when all I am asking for is an email address or if they got my resume. Honestly, I am very aware of my tone of voice and my ‘kindness-​level’ when I speak to people on the phone. Still, they are incredibly rude.
It is just so disappointing because I love the mission statement of this company. They do NOT live up to it at all… Very disappointing.

I fired SSI after «working» with them. I have 12+ years as an Exec Assistant /​Corp Business offc Mgr. I was brought in to interview with some «fantastic» companies that were «right up your level of expertise». These companies never materialized, and I had to initiate all communication with SSI. Beyond the initial email/​meeting– I had to email and call daily to get a reply. which was always «no, we dont have anything right now». I was getting 2 – 3 calls a week from other agencies. I fired SSI. I hope that they do better by others.

This company saved my ass.

Nice folks, very thorough and professional. They sent me on several interviews with top folks at advertising agencies, which is what I *thought* I wanted to do. Turned out that I HATED advertising. Once I got my head on straight I got a job with a VC firm. So, SSI didn’t get me a gig, but they may find the perfect job for you — check ‘em out!

My friend jn uses this temp agency and he reccomended it to me. This is a pretty small office, with less than ten people. Everyone was super friendly, and got my testing done quickly. They were all ready to set me up with a position, but first i had to hear from some permanent jobs, and when i was free, bay staffing beat them to it. i will definitely go with them after my position is over, if they find me a place first. and i highly reccomend going to them if you want a temp or perm job.
