History

Established in 1979.

I am a fourth generation dealer of diamonds. My great grandfather started in Russia. My grandfather came to New York City in about 1906, first working on Maiden Lane and later the Bowery (3^rd Ave) and Canal St. I started going there as a child. My father moved the business to 47^th St. in Manhattan after WWII. I started working on ‘The Street’ carrying cash & checks to the bank and delivering work to jewelers, polishers and appraisers during summer as a high school kid. After my father passed at 52 years old from PKD, I went to college at Syracuse, Copenhagen, Denmark and graduated form Cornell University, working summers in ‘The Trade’ for my mother and cousin, who took over the business.

For many years, after moving to California, firstly to Venice Beach and then to Marin, I was a traveling jewelry salesman. After the earthquake, I moved back to San Francisco and started my ‘Private Jeweler’ business. I have been selling large diamonds and making engagement rings and wedding bands.
