There’s nothing hot or exceedingly cocoa-​y about their hot cocoa. Tepid milk with a vague rumor of chocolate about it.
The staff are pleasant and social, at least when I’ve visited.

Meh… better coffee and atmosphere to be had elsewhere. Cashier girl today was too cool for school and didn’t know jack about coffee. The barista saved the day. Recommend Flywheel down the street instead.

Coffee is decent. If you are looking for a cleaner food establishment in this hipster town, I think it’s one of the cleaner coffee/​food shops in the «Haight/​Ashbury» area. Donuts come from a local bakery and the flavors were unique (apricot ginger :-), lavender chocolate, etc.) Bathrooms are located in a hallway-​way in the back and you have to get someone to buzz you in.

This trendy hipster café is squished between the bohemian and vintage shops on bustling Haight Street. They serve up fine brewed coffee prepared by a mustachioed barista — frankly, I’d expect nothing less. You’ll see a mixture of hippies, tourists, and drifters all standing in line together to wait for this cup of joe.
Easy parking: Good luck finding a meter.

Indoor seating: A few wobbly tables that if you barely bump your delicious caffeine will spill everywhere. Seriously, I did it and we saw two other people do it too at other tables.

Haven’t yet gone to another coffee place in this area but the latte was good, presented well, and a very friendly barista which is definitely a necessity I don’t see often in coffee shops! Also it’s nice that there is an area to sit and chat, and a bathroom

They don’t serve wine here so sorry to disappoint you if you read the name. Apparently Unilocal won’t let them change it. BUUUT have no fear. The coffee and service here is BOMB. I got a cappuccino and it was awesome. I personally would want to change the back area into a cool patio for customers since it was already getting full on a Tuesday afternoon. My friend knocked my drink and spilled a little and he gave us a brand new capp. You can just feel the love that the owner has in this shop, just like most independent businesses of SF. Also, smell the beans on the shelves. It’s a vacation for your nose.

I have been to Stanza several times over the past few weeks and it has never failed to deliver good coffee in a friendly environment. The staff has been easy going and always up for chatting. The space is visually appealing with great vintage chairs/​tables– perfect for studying and just relaxing with a good book!

Was a great experience until the change of shift and the music was on blast. Very straight menu. No space for a small group of 4 just 2 at a barrel table. Cute design but very dirty drug infested bathroom.

Damn good espresso drinks here!
What really got me to love this place is the fact that I could actually taste the espresso with my almond milk latte. Some other well-​known coffee shops (whose names will remain «sight“less) make almond milk lattes that taste so bitter because they burn the almond milk hearing it at ether too high of a temperature or for too long.
Anyway, I really like how light and airy the lattes feel at Stanza. It’s also just a super cute place to go for a date or to hang out and possibly do work if you had to.
Would return again :)

Turn down the music a bit.
High quality espresso coffee. The Counter Culture beans are good and the espresso is properly made. I can’t fault anything here (although, if you are a fan of the more old fashioned, dark roast espresso, you might find fault).
For me the only drawback is the music. The selection is pretty good, but it’s just too loud for a café. It’s above easy conversation volume and even a bit annoying when waiting for a shot.

Small selection of pastries and great coffee options. My table was the top of a barrel, which was very cool. There was also a big bar to sit at. I couldn’t decide which to pick.
For you health nuts, keep in mind there’s only 2% milk. I’ll walk it off.

I think this is the best coffee in the Haight. Friendly staff and usually there are tables or places at the bar for you to sit. So you can definitely come and chill.

My friend does not use Unilocal,so here is a review in his honor.
We decided to walk in here because us tourist think everything in Haight Ashbury is so cool with its hipster ambiance.
1. Instead of getting a greeting/​welcome, we got ugly/​careless looks and from a male and female worker.
2. When I, the customer, say «Hi!» to you, learn how to smile or say hi back.
3. «Here.» is not a polite way to give a customer his coffee. Try «Here’s your black coffee sir, thank you.» Did I mention there were no show of gratitude throughout the transaction?
They also forgot to put a sleeve on the hot coffee. Good thing my friend has thick-​skin manly fingers to protect himself from getting burned. He also says the coffee is not impressive, he could have gotten a better cup of joe of Starbucks for half the price.
We love the design of the place, very cozy and clean. Whoever worked there on August 21st, Friday afternoon can try to put on a fake smile for their future customers.

Poor chai. Super spicy! I’m still staring at it thinking if I should be brave enough to take another sip and give it a chance :(
The guys working here (Sunday — 6:30pm) were awful! I think 3 people asked for chai and I got confused about who was going next. I was sitting at the counter and said that was my chai and they just looked at me sort of upset. Oops! I’m sorry!
Then, I asked if that was my chai and both looked annoyed and said «we don’t bring it to you» ~ wooha! They just had given a cappuccino to my friend who is sitting right next to me! O_​o
Ok. Got it. Nooooo problem. Chill, cool dudes.
Update while writing this post: they are complaining about customers in front of other customers. Super uncomfortable. Dang!

This place is a welcome relief from the surprisingly mundane coffee spots in this area. The place is in a main drag of haight district. Plenty of things to do nearby and the setup is inviting for one to just take a break and unwind. I had the cappuccino here is the verdict

Charming little coffee spot on Haight which was recommended by a local. She claimed Lemony Snicket was written here & that of course peaked my interest. It’s a tiny shop with a dark cozy lounge area toward the front & diner style seating toward the back. Interesting mix. I loved their unique coffee drip system on display. So cool. Definitely got a hipster vibe.
I went for the Guatemalan pour over, purely because I’ve never had it & liked the look of the glassware. So, it’s basically a system that allows the barista to control the brewing process to preference. I felt excited watching them do it. Coffee was excellent. People were helpful enough. So, I’d go back. Maybe I’ll run into Daniel Handler the next time.

Un Drip Coffee perfecto que hubiera sido aún más perfecto de no ser por la pareja que me quitó mi sitio al lado del ventanal, con todo su morro, para hacerse un reportaje de boda (de los de ahora, documental y sin vestido).
Es un sitio al que venir y tomar el cAfé en el barrio hippy, las plantas de la pared en tarros también me parecieron lo más y hay que tener cuidado con las mesas hechas de barriles porque tienen poca estabilidad y a un poquito que las toques se mueven como péndulos derramando todo ese precioso café que te acaban de servir con atención y cariño.
