Moving and storage are typically not pleasant events. However, in my quest for finding a storage facility SOMA Storage was fantastic. Melissa and the whole office team were so incredibly helpful and friendly in locating a unit for me. I trust in their wait-​list system and sooner than expected I received a call a unit was available. Facility is incredibly clean and secure and having an office staff working in-​site daily brings peace of mind to me that there will not be «odd-​balls» strolling the building. Thank you for your help!

I’m changing my rating to full 5 stars. The units are super clean, the staff is helpful, and when my mother recently passed away, they were one of the few vendors that assisted our family in our time of need. Many companies in the City do what they need to in order to stay in business, but very few go above and beyond their normal routine when they see that their patrons are suffering. Thank you.

I have been using SOMA storage for over 8 months and I couldn’t be happier. The space is always clean and the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. SOMA Storage has an excellent additional service that allows you to receive packages and have them be delivered to your unit. I make use of this service every week– in fact, my business relies upon it. The building supervisor Adrian goes out of his way to personally help me with all of my deliveries. He is trustworthy, professional, and always looking out for me. I would never take my business elsewhere because of the A+ service that Adrian, Nanette, and the rest of the SOMA staff provide.

You truly get what you pay for! Amazing service and facilities!!! This storage is a secure, clean, safe environment for your belongings. I’m extremely pleased with this storage and so thankful for the facilities and the staff!!! It’s a little safe haven when I stop in here to get my business materials from my unit.

Their procedures are easy and clean-​cut, which I greatly appreciate. I use a 5×5 storage unit for my business and have met several other customers who use theirs for the same purpose.

I have been renting a unit from Soma Self Storage for 3-​months. The units are clean, safe, and secure. The downside is the quality of the facility doesn’t match the customer service. The building supervisor Adrian shouldn’t have any interaction with the public. He has a terrible attitude and NOT helpful at all. I pay $ 300 for a 10×10, and $ 121 for a 4×4, so $ 420 a month. I expect that the customer service match the quality of the facility. I would NOT recommend Soma Self Storage.

I’ve had a wonderful experience at SOMA self-​storage. The facilities are super clean, brightly lit, extremely safe, and the staff is so nice and extremely professional. My apartment building flooded a few months ago and I had only a few days to get all of my belongings packed up and into storage. I was really upset and frantic, but the office staff at SOMA Storage made me feel so much better. They quickly helped me determine what size storage space I needed and helped me every step of the way, from coordinating the drop-​off and thoroughly explaining their policies and security measures. I’ve had to use storage spaces many times over the years, and SOMA is by far the best I’ve ever worked with.

I agree with all the positive things other Unilocalers have already said. I always thought of storage facilities as nasty wastelands for belongings not good enough for space in someone’s garage. This place is cleaner than most peoples’ apartments and the service is impeccable.

You truly get what you paid for.
SOMA Storage is one of the most professional and secure storage places I have utilized. 5 years strong with this company and they have made everything so easy and carefree. I do not have to worry about my storage unit at all. The customer service is fabulous and facilities are always clean and hallways have plenty of lighting.
The pricing however is a bit more than other places but I rather pay more for this kind of service than cheaper places where you will worry about your stuff. Choose Soma storage if you’re interested in keeping your items safe and clean.

This place has the friendliest, most professional staff! Adrian helped me move the van out of a tight spot, was courteous beyond his duties, and showed me around the premises and gave me input as to what size space I would need for my stuff. Jocelyn at the front desk was very professional and accommodating. I got to use their moving van for free –that was a huge help! The space is clean and tidy. They often have a ton of perfectly good boxes up for grabs at the back bin. So glad I opted for this place instead of another. Thank you guys!

By far a company aimed to exceed customer expectations. I was a customer for 2 years. Kevin, the facility’s manager inspires his team as I noticed there is a friendly environment and pride in all folks who work there.

Thank you thank you thank you. SOMA storage is amazing. Clean, well run, organized, efficient — awesome. We had originally gone to Public Storage on Van Ness… it was basically a nightmare. We were able to get relocated over to SOMA Storage quickly and easily — thanks to the folks in the office again for all of your help!

Soma self storage is a clean, secure, and easily accessible storage facility. The service and staff are top notch and they are always willing to go above and beyond if I need help. Adrian is especially helpful and has helped me many a time when I have accidentally forgot my keys to my storage unit. He always has a smile on his face and is always willing to help!
I definitely will keep using soma self storage for years to come!

I’m very happy with this business in almost every way and have been a customer for about a year, but I feel compelled to write a review to warn people about the disclaimer on their website:

Spaces may be smaller than indicated in advertising or other size indicators.»
The word approximate here is an exaggeration. To get a real idea of the size, knock off at least one foot from the published dimensions, e.g. a 4×4 is probably really a 3×3. I viewed a 6×10 that was really a 4×10 at best (I’m 6′ tall so this is easy to see). While the disclaimer is true, it is quite misleading.
Go in with a measuring tape to know what you’re really paying for. This probably goes for any storage facility.

This is a really convenient, clean, well run storage business. Great location, easy parking, and very secure. I use this business to store my work belongings and I’m very thankful I was able to get into this location. I’ve tried a few others in the city and they don’t come close in all categories.
I love the friendly, helpful, and attentive staff here as well. I get a lot of packages delivered and they are always taken directly into my unit, neatly put away, without me having to be there.
Well worth the wait (if there is a waiting list) and I can’t commend this top notch team enough.

Clean, secure, conveniently located but most of all great customer service.
I’m a new publisher and using a small unit here to store the initial stock of books from our first print run before they go off to distributors and stores. All my interactions with the staff on-​site have been great and I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the facility. The office team were very good about staying in touch as I planned for getting a unit as soon as my shipment was scheduled to arrive.
More important than all of that, though, is the above-​and-​beyond service from Adrian. Great attitude and a real concern for his customers set Soma Self-​Storage head and shoulders above the competition.
Our shipment of 2000 books was due to arrive and I had let him know that I would need the pallet jack. He brought it around and when the shipper arrived – alarmingly with only one guy and a rented Enterprise truck – directed the truck in safely and guided the inexperienced delivery man in getting the load to the ground without mishap. That was no small feat: the liftgate on the truck was smaller than the pallets they’d sent by several inches and there were at least two moments when Adrian’s quick instructions saved a pallet from being steered off the back of the truck and crashing to the ground by that guy. Not only that, but Adrian then drove the pallet jack with my two 1500lb loads of books to the door of my unit. All this with a cheerful attitude and care for my property and the facility. Exceptional service!
I highly recommend Soma Self-​Storage – and I say this as the founder of the holiday of Discardia, celebrating letting go of what you no longer need, and one who is generally not in favor of storage facilities.

I’m nearing the end of my first month with Soma Self Storage.
The facility is clean and secure, and prices are reasonable for the area. But what makes this review worth writing? Adrian. Twice now, the man has saved me from some major inconveniences. First time, I arrived at the facility right around closing and he helped me figure out what and where my storage unit was. Then when my helper found himself sidelined with an emergency phone call, the man helped move a few boxes too. Second time, I arrived middle of the day and forgot my storage key. Adrian kept an eye on a couple of my boxes for about an hour until I could get home and back. Good man!

I run an online business and get a ton of packages. My apartment turned into a nightmare warehouse and I was tripping over items to get to my bed. I had another storage unit that had 24 hour access, but it was far away and in a sketch area. I searched a couple facilities in San Francisco and decided on this for a few reasons.
The main one: THEY ACCEPT PACKAGES AND PUT THEM IN YOUR UNIT. Do you get a ton of boxes? Are you sick of going to the UPS center and waiting in line? Problem solved! It’s free for up to 5 packages, then I believe $ 20 for up to 20.
It’s clean. Super clean. No gross anything. They have recycling bins for cardboard. Plenty of carts for hauling your stuff. Lots of parking in a secure lot you have to enter with a private code.
The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is I really wish it was open later. Even until 8 would be better. It’s hard for most people to make it there after getting off work at 6. Last access in is 6:45 PM. I would gladly pay a bit more for later access.

College students and Unilocalers receive a discount. Sweet.
I currently have my stuff stored in one of the smaller units for about $ 80/​month. This may be a steep cost for some people but you are paying for the security of your belongings.
You have to enter a security code to even enter the premises (Fort Knox style), enter that same code again to access the elevator, and enter the code again to exit. Loves it. The staff is very helpful and friendly, especially Lupe.
