Soccer Cafe

Food is alright. Service is very friendly but mixed up my order. I am glad I went because I was curious about 4 star brunch and breakfast places but I would not come here again with so many great places to eat nearby.

Hungry and in the neighborhood, I wanted a quick and satisfying meal. With a hasty Unilocal search, Soccer Café seemed like a good option. They offer coffee, pastries, and bagels outside the shop and sandwiches and hot-​items inside.
Upon entering, the shop was completely empty. So I figured that preparing a sandwich wouldn’t take too long. However, I found myself waiting impatiently, well over 10 minutes. The turkey and cheese sandwich was simple, nothing too special or unique in flavorful. Ingredients were very fresh though.
The redeeming factor to Soccer Café is the awesome staff. They’re super nice and friendly. They also have drip coffee that’s pretty strong and fresh. That’s the other plus.

Great place if you love good food and a good soccer match! The atmosphere is really nice with lots of space and is extremely clean. I got the club sandwich, it was so good! The tea I had was great and the food came out quickly. There are big tv’s perfect for watching games. Seriously, come here, it’s a great place!

I had an excellent BLT here. It was made speedily, and the folks working there were so nice!

This place is awesome! Just came by to pick up the free cup of coffee from Unilocal because I was just waiting for someone. It turns out there is new mgmt and they’re converting the place into more of a restaurant than a café. The guy still gave me my free coffee no questions asked and told me I could stay as long as I want. Really friendly staff. Can’t say much for the food, but the coffee and staff were great! I really appreciate people like that!

This place is awesome.
The grilled chicken breast sandwich is THE BEST. Breakfast burrito is awesome too.
It’s a blue-​collar joint. You often see cops eating in there, which is always a good sign.
Sultan and his staff are super friendly and eager to bend over backwards for customers.
Highly recommended.

I was such a big fan of this place, they had creative salads and great staff. The past few months have been hard on soccer café, it changed management several times in the past year.
I love a local owned business, and give perhaps too much slack on things like service and food options available.
The food quality and service have suffered. I wish them the best of luck, but i won’t be back.

Great customer service and delicious food but, they don’t have a bunch of the soccer channels. Why is it called «soccer café» with one or two soccer channels only. This place should be called” Café” only.

I got into soccer this year because of Cristiano Ronaldo, I mean, the Eurocup!
This place is great for fans of the sport: two big TV’s so you can watch soccer all year long, they serve sandwiches and burritos, hot drinks and beer/​wine. Plenty of seating but some are hard wooden booths (not good for the tush!) and some chairs have a soccer theme to it.
We came right when they opened on a Saturday and the place was empty, which meant fast service. The open face pita with hummus, scrambled egg, tomatoes and black olives was a super healthy choice for brunch so make sure to supplement it with the chorizo and bacon burrito!
The owner was really nice and very kind. I’ll revisit again for the welcoming vibe.

This place was OK. I had a BLT. It tasted like a BLT. There was no one else there… they had Soccer on TV… yea that’s it.

If you’re looking for a chill place to get some work done while watching soccer games, you’ve found it. This place has fast wifi, not very crowded, and reasonable prices. Love it

(See pics) Updated review. More of 3.5 stars. Recently they changed the setting. Replacing regular tables and chairs are the tall tables and chairs and table cloths. Same menu but might be a bit less comfortable to sit and watch a game.
The day I visited they also had $ 1.50 a taco and these are not small ones and the tortilla was house made! I can barely finish all 3.

I love stopping in here on my way to work from the BART. I usually just get a toasted sesame bagel and one of their homemade cream cheeses. It’s quick and friendly: just exactly what I want en route to work.

The Soccer Café is somewhere between a dive bar and your friendly neighborhood café. The staff are really friendly, and yes — it is highly soccer themed. Feels like they have a lot of love and pride for the place. I admittedly didn’t get a chance to order any food off the menu, but the wi-​fi is free, prices reasonable, and a short hop from the BART stop.

Can i say, «Yummy» in Spanish? Nope, but if that is what you are looking for in a place to watch a soccor match, inexspensive lunch or a free wi-​fi place to work… then this is the place for you!
With new and tasty lunch specials every day, the café is a great place to avoid the usual food which consists of over breaded and under whelming sandwiches.
My fav is their wide selections of teas at only $ 1.50 and the AMAZING $ 5.95 Tuna Fish sandwich. this is no mere snack with only a little flavor to distract one’s palette, but it is filled with lettuce, tomato, onions and the tuna is a fresh mix of spices, relish and a bite of peppers to give it a riotous kick.
So kick back and enjoy a bevies while avoiding the world and enjoy a great café that puts other cafes to shame.
Oh ya, i almost forgot! They have an amazing breakfast specials serves all day! from $ 6.95 benidicts and truely fluffy pancakes for only $ 2.50. It is a cheap place to brab a quick brunch while watching a game and downing a couple of their happy hour beers at only $ 2!!!

I have only had their coffee and one disappointing breakfast. I know the bacon, which was presented to me on the plate in shards, was pre-​cooked and reheated, this is not a good idea.
They are a creperie and I fully intend to have crepes there soon and I will update at that time.
Coffee and CNN in the morning is really good here. I prefer news to soccer, so when is someone gonna open the NEWS Café?

I’m just going to admit that 5 starts is a little bit much for this place if you judge it on the food alone. But here’s the thing, they make good fresh food and the menu changes everyday. The woman who runs the place reminds of you of Mom. It isn’t fancy food but the portions are big and it is perfect for lunch.
They’ve got a few tvs including one big one and they usually have soccer on. I’m not a bid soccer fan except during world cup but you don’t have to be to enjoy a good lunch, wifi, and friendly service.
If you work in the area and you’re tired of the same old lunch places you’ve got to check out soccer café. They also have a happy our special and serve brunch (which I haven’t tried). It is tough to find places that make their food with this much love.

If you know the corner of Folsom and 16^th, you would still miss this café, even though it’s on 16^th right past Folsom.
It’s in the worst location I can imagine, between Kings Refrigeration, this appliance recycling and repair outfit, which is a review in and of itself, and J Georgie’s– Yes, J Georgie’s, the infamous Burger and Teriyaki and Doughnut terror that IS on the corner.
So, it blends in pretty well, but what the heck??! The food is good! They seriously have one of my top choices for breakfast sandwiches in my whole commuting radius, and there are plenty of places trying to sling a breakfast sandwich, lemme tell ya!
For about 5.95 you get a great bagel, (I don’t know where these are from, they’re sorta on the puffy side but I’m cool with puffy), cheese, egg, meat, butter, and S&P! (Don’t freak, I only eat these carb loads after a morning work-​out!)
With a small cup of their delicious coffee, (uh, $ 1.50?) a bit of bi-​lingual chat with the sweet staff and a look at the teli for news or the latest futbol score, I’m out the door, on my way to hustle through another day.
I think the interior leaves quite a bit to be desired and I think putting all of those hideous soccer shaped screens for the wi-​fi computers was a disastrous move. You can’t see out the windows and what little pleasant light used to come in is now blocked. I don’t find that welcoming. The screens for watching TV are also pretty small.
It’s a rather manly place, and I don’t see a consistent group of people in there at any one time of day; but with the extensive and surprisingly tasty and quite well prepared food, as well as their selection of beer and wine, close proximity to soccer fields in the park, and the focus on soccer, I wish them luck.
They will need it in this location, but they have my full support!

The reuben sandwich was ok, but the cole slaw is good. Wi-​Fi is not free. also, they have something call «Mase» wines, Corona and Pacifico beers (the current special is two 7-​ouncers for $ 3). hooray beer!

My new go-​to place to catch footie matches on the telly. Big for a café, so there are many seats and seat types; chairs, bench, stool, sofa (
). Why not the final Unilocalstar? No free Wi-​Fi, TVs could be bigger and the ratio of TVs to seats could be better (
). The place could almost double as a taqueria, but you won’t find any of that. Still, none are deal breakers.
There are free parking along 16^th St. or Folsom St. (no meters, no time limits except on street cleaning days).
