Simply Unique Nails

I went to Simply Unique nails after Four Seasons Salon cut my toe, and did a horrible paint job.
The woman on the phone when I called ahead was a bit rude, but the person who re-​did my nails was super nice and did a good job. They only lasted 2 days, but I only needed them looking extra nice that evening, for a special event. Maybe that’s just the faith of nails in general, unless one gets gel?

I don’t understand the hype. It is really not that great and on my last visit it was down right awful (so much so that I walked out before my appointment and went somewhere else). I’m troubled by the lack of cleanliness (if you bother to look closely). Towels aren’t that clean and the ‘sanitizing’ of the pedi baths doesn’t appear to be that thorough.
Many higher quality nail bars will allow group bookings and private parties. I really wouldn’t risk your nail health here. Sugarcoat on Post and Market Nails are both miles better.

They skimped so much, for close to a $ 40 gel mani. First of all, I never got a chance to really tell the nail artist what I wanted because she was on her phone the whole time. She stood the whole time which was really weird and awkward and didn’t really acknowledge I was there? Overall the weirdest experience I ever had. I wanted my nails «square» meaning I don’t like the ends rounded but I think she thought I meant literal squares because my usually regular length nails now look like little chiclets. No cuticle oil or cuticle remover, just soaked my fingers in ~COLD~ water for a few seconds, shoved my cuticles back and then ripped off my cuticles. It’s been less than a week and now my poor cuticles are growing back all scraggly and I had a few hangnails even though I usually never get them at all. She also didn’t wipe off all the nail dust after she filed down my nails and buffed them, she just used nail polish to paint over them. After she was «done» I had gel polish all on the underside of my fingers. The star is for the lady that came over later and tried to at least give me a little hand massage, and complimented my eyebrows and tried to make light conversation. The other lady that did my nails just kinda stood up and left after she finished the gel portion. I was so confused like «was I done? Is this it ?». Of course I didn’t get an answer but damn I really haven’t felt like such a huge inconvenience to someone. I went with 3 of my cousins and the other 2 had the same exact shitty experience with only gel manis while the one cousin that paid for the pedi/​mani combo with her regular lady had a really good experience.

I love getting acrylic nails and after testing SUN 3 times (1 full set, 2 refills), I will never go back.
The service was rushed, I was cut multiple times, and most importantly, the acrylics were SUPER DUPER thick! They looked trashy and unprofessional. Not only that, but on the website a full set is $ 35, but I was charged $ 45! I didn’t realize this until I came and looked at the website.
Since SUN, I have been going to Creative Nail Care and getting my nails done by the owner, Laura. She is amazing. She does an amazing job, is friendly, speaks English well, and is truly artistic. Visit Creative Nail Care if you want beautiful acrylic nails.

Love this place. Will come back! Came as a walk-​in and was treated nicely and it was efficient. Deluxe Mani and Pedi at a great price. They are confident their color will stay and not smudge, the paraffin dip came after color application. I was nervous but then saw my nails and smooth skin it was awesome!

Simply Unique Nails used to be my go to mani-​pedi place.
But then I read the NY Times article.
Then I saw that S.U.N. wasn’t on the list yet.
So I doubt I’ll be going back.
Stupid conscience.

This place is the business!
friendly, uplifting, soothing. I’ve been coming here for quite some time and I can’t imagine going anywhere else. It takes me more than a few visits to really solidify my opinion of a nail salon since you typically don’t get serviced by the same provider every time. However, the quality of my mani/​pedi never dips below pristine. I usually get a French tip with gel and I’ve noticed quite a variance of the end result at other establishments. Here, I know that every time I walk out of Simply Unique Nails I’ll be ecstatic with the work that was done especially with the kind, time efficient, and precision of nail artists like Vy. Going here gives me one less thing to worry about! I know I’m in good hands

This is my very favorite nail place in the city. Minus one star for repeatedly saying «yes, come in 15 minutes» and then making me wait 15 to 30 once I arrive at the time they gave me. Grrr. I have simply decided to never go here in a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Every other day of the week they are 6 star: I get the deluxe mani pedi, the polish lasts weeks and they do then eat massages with mani pedi in town. But never on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. I will acknowledge that once when they made new air 45 minutes they gave mea Gift Certificate for a manicure-​you know, that I immediately misplaced, but, that’s not their fault.

Great vibe, vast color selection, complimentary drinks (sodas, water w lemon/​lime/​cucumber, Gatorade or tea), wide range of services offered, reasonable pricing and generally great customer service.
I have noticed that no matter when you come in, and whether or not you have a walk-​in or an appointment you will not get immediate service. I wait about 15 min on average for any acrylic nail services. They often do not give you the nail technician you ask for because they all switch around a lot but are all great at what they do.
Words on Sabrina– someone reviewed her as doing a bad job taking off the acrylics. They must have little experience with acrylic nails because I’ve had acrylics for years and Sabrina’s take-​off technique was no different from anyone else’s. However she broke 2 of my nails while prepping me for my fill, and then tried to get away with not replacing the tips, which would have left those two nails looking completely different from the rest of my set, in length, thickness, and shape. When I confronted her, she was rude and unclear about her intentions.
My fill took longer than normal. I got there around 4:40 and didn’t leave until 6:10 but to be fair, they didn’t start my service until about 5pm. Still, disappointing. I would recommend coming on a weekday rather than a weekend. They are open every day until 8pm, except Sunday!
My nails look great as always, and I know will stay looking the way they do now for the next 3 weeks (usually how long my Simply Unique nails last).

Came here for part of my bridal shower celebration and we were so pleased with the service and overall experience. The inside was nice and clean, the chairs were comfy and spacious (though spread out far from each other so keep this in mind when you come here in a group). They let us bring champagne and cupcakes which we set on a cute counter near our area. All six girls in my party were work on simultaneously so we all finished around the same time — no waiting around for stragglers.
The manicure and pedicure were top notch. My mother is a nail technician and I’ve had hundreds of manicures — they do a QUALITY job here. I got the deluxe package which include a hot wax dip which was amazing. The technicians were friendly and made us all feel very welcome.
I will definitely be back!

Best pedicure and gel mani I have had in a long time. Get the deluxe pedicure, they give you about a 20 min massage for each foot, exfoliate and remove calluses AND put that amazing wax on you. Everyone is super friendly and the space is super clean. I live in la now but I will be back whenever I visit.

DO NOT LET Sabrina do your nails! I was screaming in my mind when she removed my acrylic nails… and I decided to write her an review on Unilocal after I left.
Ok, I had my first life time acrylic nails done here before I went to vacation (2 weeks ago). I also did my full set pedicure as well. It was pretty good experience with the only male employee Bön and lady who did my pedicure! He was patient and careful when he did my nails. So my two stars are for him and the lady. After I came back from vacation, I felt it’s kinda inconvenient for me when I do things with these acrylic nails; I decided to remove them.
I understand they want their customer keep coming back, but Sabirna charged me $ 10 for just removing these acrylic nails. She said if I re-​do them, I can get $ 5 off. Alright, fine. But the removing progress was TERRIBLE. First, she was rude when she tried to pull my acrylic nails out with pliers. The nails were seemed still tight with the glue. However, she kept doing this until I told her she hurt one of my fingers. I wondered why she insisted to pull all of them out even they’re seemed impossible to remove. (I took a picture of my nails if you need reference!)I asked her if this is the only way to remove them cuz I watched a video online they place the nails into the pure acetone after they cut the outer edge of acrylic nails. She just gave me a whatever look and said «uh ok lets soak them with acetone now.»
While i was waiting, a lady came in. She wanted to re-​do her acrylic nails with simple french. Sabrina asked her to sit down and started doing her nails. A while later, the lady started complained Sabrina hurt her nails as well. Not surprised! I don’t think she can concern on her work while she were picking up the phone call and receiving a new customer who just walked in in the same time. I don’t even want to mention she overcharged me almost $ 90 total for pedicure and manicure last time and did bad mani for my friend.
I don’t think I will come back. There are so many nail places in the city…

I had my nails done here by Sabrina I got really sloppy job. My acrylic nails were very thick and poorly done. I had been charged 45 $ for ACRYLICS FILL.
Cant wait to go take them OFF somewhere else and get my nails fix its really not worth it at all.

Very fast, filed my nails evenly. Probably one of the best nail places I’ve been to BUT 3 of my nails chipped two days after. Also I can’t justify paying 32 $ for a gel when I can go anywhere else and get the same or better service for 25 $

I needed a place that was open on Sunday, and that did the kind of service I needed (pink and white nails). They were very friendly as soon as I came in.
They even serve refreshments to their customers for free! I enjoyed a nice cup of green tea while Bön and a lady whose name I can’t recall but I think she’s the owner, worked on my nails.
The environment is super chill, and I noticed that the employees remembered several of the customers and greeted them by name as they came in.
They were accommodating to my preferences as far as how I wanted my nails, and paid lots of attention to detail. They really care about doing a good job, and you can tell they are experts. Plus they didn’t hurt me with any of the equipment, which is rate to me. My fingers didn’t leave with any cuts. And the lady gave me a super relaxing hand massage afterwords.
When I left they were very gracious and i felt like they appreciated me, which I totally reciprocate, my nails have never looked more beautiful and perfect!
I love this place.

Went in here today with my man for a pedicure (our first time here). We didn’t make an appointment but lucky for us, we got seated right away.
I like that they have a total of 4 TVs, massage chairs, and they also serve a variety of complimentary drinks.
They don’t have champagne available but you’re welcome to bring your own. They have glasses available for you to use.
Nail techs are friendly. It’s hard to tell who are the nail technicians because they don’t wear uniforms or aprons.
Jessica did my nails and she pays attention to detail. They use OPI nail polish so it’s legit!
$ 25 for a regular pedicure
$ 35 pedicure with paraffin
$ 50 for mani and pedi
They do add a ’20 minute’ massage before polishing your nails. But our massage felt a little rushed and pedi session went by kinda quick.
So relaxed and they got our feet feeling so soft! I’ll turn into a regular if the next session doesn’t feel too rushed ;)

This is my spot, their quality is great (Jessica & Bön are the best!), but even if you have an appointment, you will always have to wait. I’ve waited almost an hour past my appointment time before. That’s the only reason for no 4 – 5 star rating.

This place is very busy, very clean and very reasonably priced considering those two facts. I’d recommend their glitter gels as they are amazing — last forever — and you can just let them remove it next time you are in. (Did you know that you can paint over gel nails? You can! That’s my secret to a longer lasting manicure.)
I don’t go often (I prefer to do my nails at he) but when I do decide to splurge, I go to Simply Unique Nails!

Decided to give this place a second chance. I made a 6:15pm appointment on a Thursday for a friend and I. It took them 90-​minutes to finish my basic manicure and pedicure. They made me wait a half hour in the chair after finishing my pedicure before even starting my manicure. I got time, but not that much time! Jeez!
They were very busy at this time and kept taking in more customers than they were staffed for. Hence, I got the shaft and had to wait way too long for the whole process to be finished. The polish on my toes has lasted weeks, but my manicure chipped after a week. Still 3 stars in my book. Advice: Expect to be paid less attention to if you go in during a peak hour.
