Shibata Floral Company

The entrance of this place is through what I can only describe as shredded plastic covers. lol. No door, just shredded plastic covers.
It is a warehouse with shelving from the ground to the ceiling filled out party supplies.
They have Christmas ornaments in the back from CHEAP! I recommend going here for your ornaments instead of the overpriced corporate stores! You get more for your money.
They had a great display & collection of candelabras!

Great place to go for «everything but the flowers». Vases, ribbon, flower food, etc. And super nice staff!

Shibata occupies a unique niche at the San Francisco Flower Mart in that they supply both flowers and all the additional ephemera that florists require for their handiwork. While I haven’t purchased any of their cut flowers, I can speak to the great selection they offer on their supply goods side.
Now, I’m a pretty jaded customer, and these days it’s hard to offer a selection that compares to what the Internet may yield, especially if you’re on the hunt for something very specific. That said, the selection of containers, mechanics, and yarded goods is pretty outstanding. They may not have exactly everything you’re looking for on hand and without notice, but it’s pretty decent on-​demand selection. I feel like their selection of ceramics is especially cool and contemporary without crossing over into the weird and garish category. It’s a fine line for me.
Between Shibata and FSS across the street, you really can find whatever non-​fresh items your project needs. Three stars until I can either order fresh stems through them, or test out what they offer. I usually end up at Torchio, just across the interior hallway!

This is the place to go to get your flowers! Saved over a thousand dollars on flowers! They were awesome and have many flowers. I don’t know how they have such cheap flowers but hey, it worked for us! They can also deliver to neighboring cities, i.e. Sac. Rosa was very helpful with our request and order, even though she was running on only 4 hours of sleep in 48 hours because of filling flower orders! Hard worker and honest worker is the impression i got of her. But I can NOT say the same about the owner, Eric, our order didn’t come exactly as we wanted even though they GUARANTEED it. When asked about it he said it was not his problem and to go away. The prices are what make this place run, AND Rosa.

I can’t say enough about the wonderful treatment I received at Shibata. Rosa handled my order with unbelievable patience and exceptional professionalism. I worked with Rosa in selecting the flowers and when I saw what she put together it far surpassed any expectations I had. I can’t believe how lucky I was to find her and Shibata with all the vendors at the flower mart… I feel very fortunate. The flowers were fresh and beautiful and I am amazed. The flowers are for a wedding and they were so perfect because of all the attention that was given to them by Rosa I am convinced of that. So, thank you Shibata for your beautiful selection of flowers and thank you for having Rosa to get things done. By the way, John was great too! Thank you, thank you. I am thrilled! Jill Hoffmann

Wow, they have a lot of nice supplies. Ribbons, holiday decorations, floral supplies, and a whole bunch of stuff you never knew you wanted, but oh, you do.
I tried to buy a few Halloween sale items today but could not get the sale price because I don’t have a badge. I was told my cost would be 40% more. The pricing thing is very confusing in the flower mart because some places use retail pricing (and badge holders get a discount off that) and some places use wholesale pricing (and retail customers get marked up).

Got home and all the heads fell off the stem ;-o What a piece of shit this place is! Ever hear of quality control. Product here is always the worst — Buyer BEWARE and stay away from this place

I can’t say that I was able to do business with Shibata but I did try mightily. I ordered flowers for my wedding from Shibata, a process which included multiple visits to the flower market before my 9 – 5 job, multiple phone calls to our contact and even a confirmation call the Tuesday before we were scheduled to pick up the flowers (that Friday).
Unfortunately (in many ways), when I arrived on Friday to get pick up the flowers they didn’t have them. They forgot them. Or they didn’t come in. Or some other excuse (legitimate or not, I do not know). The bottom line is that they did not bother to telephone me to let me know of the situation (which she reported that she knew on Wednesday) and left me in a huge lurch the day before my modest wedding.
Who the hell does that to their customers?
I would strongly recommend not doing business with them if you are «in need» of product. Probably a decent place to stop by if you are in the Flower Market, but they won’t get a cent of my money considering the scramble and stress they put me through.

This is *the* place to go. Even without a ‘badge’, you can still shop at the SF Flower Mart, and this is pretty much my first destination whenever I go. They have TONS of beautiful ribbon for amazing prices… you can see everything they have, and their selection is daunting! $ 5 gets you a huge spool of pretty shiny ribbon, which is exactly what I was looking for as decorations for Leis that i was making… Perfect! (The Ribbonerie is nice and all, but their prices are insane in comparison)
Friendly, family run place, too. A useful place to start if you are planning a special occasion, wedding, party, etc… if only to get ideas!
Of course, I get sidetracked and look at the vases and other floral supplies…
